As expected Sydney made us earn it and turned it into a slog but in the end they simply couldn't go with us for the full 4 quarters on our home deck.

Tom Mitchell is absolutely huge in this team- and it comes in a way that flies under the radar.

His clearance work is much appraised but his ability to find the ball in every nook and cranny when the game is on the line when combined with his Pendles and Sidey esque composure- can’t be missed.

Very good win. I thought we controlled the game for most of the day. The 2nd qtr was a bit ordinary but we defended well and I think we just took their best effort to be honest and came out ok. We held them in an arm wrestle then ripped them apart in the last as we just seem to do now most weeks.

We left a fair bit out there, missing some easy run in goals but they too missed some sitters so I suppose it balances out. Great to see the big Texan back, he makes a huge difference to our structure, you can see it around the ground.

I just think we still need to get better at finishing off the midfield work, too many great scoring opportunities goes to waste and it is frustrating to watch happen. Get that right and we can win it.

I'll take a 5 goal win over Sydney all day long. Good stuff Pies!!

If the AFL is serious about having some type of equity within it's draw then every side in the competition should be required to play the opposition away at least once every 2 years.

Some posters have been going on and on about Ginni being dropped. While I’m not one of them, I’d just like to say that good things happen when he’s on the field.

I was one of them, but because in terms pure footy nous there is only 1 or 2 players who see things better or sooner than him.

I know he did not help himself in the pre season but he can often be a catalyst for good things to happen.
