If Hately is selected to play this week, are those that are eyeing off Answerth going to jump ship?

To me, Hately looks the tastier option scoring wise, JS aside.

Downgrading a Mid rookie to Answerth is appealing because it means you can downgrade a Def rookie to a Mid rookie (via Answerth) when the time comes to downgrade a maxed out Def rookie without having to sweat over whether Rotham will ever play that 3rd game.

Ideally Hately plays this week, which allows me to do:
Butters > Corbett
Libba > Hately

Then next week:
Petch > Bont
Drew > Dunkley/Daniel

Will leave me looking like:
Hurn, Williams, Smith, Jones, Hore, Duursma (Collins, Clark)
Cripps, Macrae, Bont, Fyfe, Coniglio, Brayshaw, Brouch, Walsh (Hately, Gibbons, Hayes)
Grundy, ROB (Bines)
Danger, Heeney, Dunkley, Marshall, Dahlhaus, Moore (Setterfield, Corbett)

And needing some midfield and defensive rookies to come along.
Wow, thought your team would look a lot better than that after all that kanga ya made from Gawn. And this squad is 2 weeks ahead. How many trades left after your future 2 trades?

Will do my head in if all of Rotham, Answerth and Hately get named this week. Might have to pass on Hately. Have several def cows ready to cull.
If Rotham is named for Cole or Schofield after a win, I might grab him over Answerth
If Hately is in I'm locking him in, even if Whitfield and/or Kelly don't play. He'll make quick money, score well, could stick around, or at the very least be in and out

That and the money you're not generating from comatose rookies, Scott, Setters, Clark & Balta. The first 3 should have been moved on before downgrading on-field rookies like Scrimshaw, Duursma & Constable. I feel these 3 tactical 'holds' are your Achilles heel this year.
Maybe, TWT .....had to decide whether to trade sideways on Rookies and delay my upgrade of the team ......feel like I've got most of the major Rookies (Stack, ROB, Answerth) .....couldn't get Baker (regret) because i was replacing Milera

But I have 1 more upgrade B4 going to the byes .....in that time, I'll be trying to get the best available rookies for the byes & cash generation .....I still have high hopes for Setterfield, Lockhart is a  ......Scott & Clarke both expendable at the right time, for the right rookies

We're still only at Round 8

Im thinking Gibbons and Petrolburner > Hately and Answerth.
Better off trading them out while they're maxed out, more chance of Libba/Brouch hitting thier breakevens than those two IMHO.
That'll leave me with 20 trades, I'll bank the cash and prepare for Whitfield or whoever else is worth unders etc in the coming weeks.

Anyone considering a punt on Jack Darling? Be keen to hear from Eagles fans.
I think I speak on behalf of all of us former owners who were burnt big time by that precious princess.

I meant more like Scott > Stack and Clark > Lockhart in particular, (Setters > Baker as well Milera timing unfortunate) would have been better outcomes even though they would have generated less upgrade dollars than you got for cashing in early your higher value on-field better scoring rookies. It's all great being aggressive with upgrading but you can fall into the trap of running out of resources before your team is complete by going too hard and too early.

I have the Lockhart / Ainswerth DEF/MID loop going .....Clarke I wanted to trade this week, but it didn't give me the funds for Dunkley

If Danger is out ....I still may go Danger to Dunkley and hold Drew .....but that's maybe a 15% longshot TBH

The jury is out on Hayes, Ainswerth, and Setterfield ......who was the FWD Rookie that was dead in the water, last year ....and rose again like a collossus ? ...was it Fritsch ? or Ronke?

But, I'm very conscious of what you'r saying re cash generation ;)

I was being serious. I'm not saying you made a mistake either, still early days.
The problems with most criticisms of the Gawn trade is that the critic fails to look at my team prior to doing the trade. Essentially my team has always been a pile of junk, and people rather simplistically assume that's only because of the Gawn trade. If I didn't make improvements ASAP, I was going to fall too far to recover. Instead I've stayed relatively stagnant. At least now I appear to be back to moving forward as compared to the more gradual fall I might otherwise be experiencing.

The difference the Gawn trade makes right now is:

Gawn, Milera, Parker and Constable (total average of 348.9) vs. Fyfe, Hurn, Marshall and ROB (total average of 422.2). Roughly a 75-point difference from 4 trades which is literally just your standard two downgrades, two upgrades situation. Comparing averages also doesn't tell the whole story because it doesn't consider the fact that Milera is injured and Constable has no JS.

If Milera didn't get injured I'd have an extra premo. If Milera got injured and I hadn't traded Gawn, I'd have likely had to downgrade. I'd argue the trade has in actual fact been one of my best moves this season all things considered.

Ahhh I see. Was unaware of your team at the time. But all those players traded in could've been traded in with simple 1 up 1 down trades could they not?

Not really. Walsh was the only rookie I had at the time that was over $300k. Collins, Duursma, Constable and Drew are the only ones that have since passed $300k and I still have them for cash gen now. My rookies were too far away from being valuable enough to make worthwhile upgrades.

Basically ROB & 3 premos (or close) vs. Gawn & 3 rookies who have virtually finished mooing. And with the former I keep to keep all my valuable rookies.

Would love to know what makes him all of a sudden capable of hitting targets when Adams is out of the team...:think::think:
If he was getting those scores with his current DE .....just imagine his scoring if he could hit a target

Tell you what though ....we have to be considering Pendles again this year, looks in great nick .....3 round average 122 & only 4% ownership

If you're looking for a true POD

Hes got a good spilt in numbers 30 touches a game 15 HBs 15 kicks..4 tackles..

It's also worth pointing out that the last time Treloar played against Carlton he ripped BOTH hammies and missed 8 weeks! :fire::fire:
How many points did he get for that? Not many I'd imagine, but it still might make a sideways trade from Cogs, Brayshaw or Libba worthwhile...
