I'd be happy if he didn't get selected. BE of -93 is just too tempting to miss, but if he's not picked, I've got enough in the bank to do Bailey Scott to either Yeo or Telly. And grab the other one with an up-down next week.

Similar situation. I have $228k to upgrade Libba to Fyfe. Fairly confident Answerth will hold his spot.

Ahhh I see. Was unaware of your team at the time. But all those players traded in could've been traded in with simple 1 up 1 down trades could they not?

I thinl the point he's making is that those upgrades only cost 3 trades, whereas the 1 up 1 down would have cost 6 trades. Plus an immediate improvement to a team that was going backwards. FWIW I did the same but had Bigboy to trade. Guess time will tell

The problems with most criticisms of the Gawn trade is that the critic fails to look at my team prior to doing the trade. Essentially my team has always been a pile of junk, and people rather simplistically assume that's only because of the Gawn trade. If I didn't make improvements ASAP, I was going to fall too far to recover. Instead I've stayed relatively stagnant. At least now I appear to be back to moving forward as compared to the more gradual fall I might otherwise be experiencing.

The difference the Gawn trade makes right now is:
Gawn, Milera, Parker and Constable (total average of 348.9) vs. Fyfe, Hurn, Marshall and ROB (total average of 422.2). Roughly a 75-point difference from 4 trades which is literally just your standard two downgrades, two upgrades situation. Comparing averages also doesn't tell the whole story because it doesn't consider the fact that Milera is injured and Constable has no JS.

If Milera didn't get injured I'd have an extra premo. If Milera got injured and I hadn't traded Gawn, I'd have likely had to downgrade. I'd argue the trade has in actual fact been one of my best moves this season all things considered.

Me too, but needs outweigh must sometimes. Bigboy hasn't been that bad either.

In all seriousness, I think Treloar is a very viable upgrade option. I'm focused on upgrading my forwards atm, but would seriously consider him if I needed a premo mid.

I notice you're doing pretty well again so far this year. (216th) beat me in a league game a few rounds back. You're still not out of the running for overall. 374 points from 1st is within reach this early in the year. Good luck. Post more, you give some good advice.

Thanks mate! I'm glad my advice is appreciated, so i'll try to find some time to post a bit more. Don't worry, i'm still lurking in the background!

Tracking along nicely and within striking distance. Just need to nail the upgrade trades and get through the byes. It's amazing how far you can jump in the rankings through fielding a full team in every bye round.

You actually had a really good team. You could have just done Butters > Stack & Milera > Lloyd and kept doing 1 up and 1 down's and you'd be a top1k team by now if you didn't panic trade.
