Shame Dean and Roughead aren't available this week. If they were, l would be dropping Moore to the VFL, to set the example that playing selfish football isn't what we are about, and if you wish to play that way, then there's no room for you at senior level, until you remove that from your game. The vision of Moore from behind the goals is embarrassing. He wanted nothing to do with Lynch yesterday, and was leaving it to others to compete with him. Hopefully this vision is shown in the team meeting ...

Absolutely spot on. He played like a spoiled brat. He's been doing it all year. It's a concern

Gotta love BF.

Begg game 1: keep playing him, shows a lot of potential, good attack on the footy, will learn more playing in the seniors, try him up forward, try him down back.

Begg game 2: we can’t afford to keep playing him, his potential and attack on the footy are not enough, will learn more playing in the twos where we can try him up forward, try him down back.

No-one would argue that Begg's game was influential today but both last week and this week he's shown an ability to get the ball - even as a clearance when he doesn't win the ruck contest.

Love the idea he could be a dual-position back/ruck. He is athletic and looks keen.

Today was only the 2nd time this season we haven’t kicked 90 points in a game…and that’s with us hitting the post 4 times in todays game… so the begg-Cameron combo is not the chief issue

The chief issue is the lack of talls down back. That’s why I… and others.. last year argued for more KPP recruitment and more games for Kelly and Keane (at the time)

Blind Freddy could see we had neglected KPP recruiting for many years, relying on cheap trades, undersized players and cat B rookies to carry the load
PLAY BEGG IN BACKLINE!!!
Cox ruck

Cameron forward

Losing my mind how obvious this is

Agree and his quick hands in stoppages were amazing today.
The kids definitely got it - just needs time

I recall in one of Fly's initial pressers after getting the gig, he pointed out the low tackle numbers of our recent draftees. Doesn't feel like we've made much progress on this front; forward 50 tackles were a disappointing stat yesterday (equal season low of 5 vs. season average of 10), with Bianco 1 tackle for the day, Henry 0, Ginnivan 0. WHE also 0...

I reckon it's part of the reason Henry has been in and out - he's clearly got an ability to score, but doesn't do enough of the hard stuff. Pressure on Ginnivan to keep hitting the scoreboard too because his general pressure is underwhelming. I suspect the lack of defensive intent is part of the reason Poulter and Macrae haven't got a look in yet.

Henry, Ginnivan and Bianco up forward together isn't physically tall or strong enough. Nothing came to ground for tackles to occur.

Game 1 and 2: Begg needs a haircut.

Even if they were available do you really think McRae and co would drop him especially after his recent big contract signing? Agree though, if we had other cattle to replace him with he’d be getting dropped in my book

Roughead is 100kgs and Begg 87kg.
Begg adding 10-15kgs is about right.
Begg is 90kgs according to the Pies site. He could get that big, maybe, but it won't be for a while I don't reckon. Getting him and Dean up to mid-90s would be a good starting point.

I'm not sure we ever put Begg down back though

Has the tools and athleticism for it imo, but I’d prefer the club tries to develop his forward craft first though. Ideally we’d have him developing but playing forward and relief ruck in the VFL with Cox playing first ruck, or even a VFL listed ruckman playing first ruck. Not sure why they’ve been insisting on playing him as a primary ruck in the twos.

We are seriously hurting with the loss of Kreuger for the year and Rough being out.
Yep. We brought in Kreuger and Dean as height for the forward and back line and unfortunately the injuries happened.

Put Dean in yesterday's game along with Roughy and Howe and Moore would have had a field day intercepting.

Kreuger up forward allows Mihoceck an easier time.

Could have been 3 less goals for them and 3 more for us. We win.
