There's a lot of spin around us rebuilding and being young. Except you go through the squad and it's the same old players we rely upon. What is the plan for the list exactly?
Like Daicos x2, Quaynor, Ginnivan, Lipinski, Noble and McCreery? Those guys have all been strong contributors this season, and we have plenty of promising youth on the outer like Henry (although he's now in the seniors), Reef, Macrae, Harrison, Murley and Draper.

We’ve just started rebuilding. It doesn’t happen in one season unless you do a north and look at them . It takes years of drafting and trading to turn over a list through delisting and natural progression.

Gotta love BF.

Begg game 1: keep playing him, shows a lot of potential, good attack on the footy, will learn more playing in the seniors, try him up forward, try him down back.

Begg game 2: we can’t afford to keep playing him, his potential and attack on the footy are not enough, will learn more playing in the twos where we can try him up forward, try him down back.
Begg had an almost identical match to last week. The difference was simple we won last week and lost yesterday. Begg was again poor in the ruck constents and ok around the ground.

Quaynor has played 43 games, been playing since 2019. Josh daicos 60 games since 2017. Noble 52 games, debut 2017. Lipinski 64 games debut 2017.

The whole we are young bs is spin. We're still rocking most of the team we've had under bucks with a different coach.

So your position is that 22-24 year-old players are not young? Gotcha...

I think the problem from my perspective isn’t Begg but Cameron.

I cut him some slack week 1 against Witts because Wittsy is a monster.

I expected him to be better this week and provide more of a contest as first ruck.

It’s two games in but I’m not seeing anything yet to confirm Cameron can play #1 ruck.

I'm suggesting half back, where he's played a few years ago for a couple of games and looked okay. Don't think he has the tricks for HFF anymore.

This is the problem I get with play him here, there and everywhere it isn't years ago it's now

HE'S DONE!!! past it, caput, finished, slow, old.

11 of the 22 that played in the 18 grand final are still in the team

18-20 with less than 20 games is young.
I see you're eating up MacRaes spin so it must be working.
Very cute. Adelaide is the youngest team in the entire competition and have 18 players with less than 20 games. We have the 13th oldest list in the competition and the 10th most experienced list on average. That would suggest that we have guys who are young but have more games than people their age typically do.

Come back when you're ready to acknowledge the facts of the situation :)

Looks like I might be in the minority but I want Tyler Brown to stay in and be at every stoppage. Got in some good spots yesterday but wasn't clean with his hands which is different to what he does at vfl level. Not sure if this is confidence or game speed but would like to give him 4 weeks to build his game. Hope it's not just desperately wanting it to click for him.
In: poulter(wing)1
Out: Bianco
Sidey to Hff

I agree with all of these. The selectors must see something with Bianco that I don't. His kicking is supposed to be a strength, but barring his first game last year, it hasn't been. He hasn't been strong enough to tackle effectively, or to break them. Tyler Brown, to me, is steadily improving. Not star material, but steady. I liked Poulter last year and expected him to be playing this year as a regular. He probably has faults that I haven't noticed though.

Cameron is not enough on his own in the ruck. He needs Cox to help. If this means that Begg has to play as a forward, then that's OK with me. It's a position he has to be able to handle. We expect the smaller players to make that adaptation. Sidebottom is in a precarious position. He still has the ability awareness and strength to be very effective when he gets the ball, but he is not getting much of it these days. He still runs hard, and covers down back really well, but his pace is a real worry.

So I have been a fan of Tyler, he plays well at VFL but like he’s brother does nothing in the big league. I’m officially off. Both to delist.

Pop Quiz: Who has had more tackles over the last few weeks, Tyler Brown or Beau ‘the tackle machine’ McCreery?

As you probably guessed from the question being asked, Tyler Brown.

But this is how stark the difference is:

v Suns:
Tyler Brown: 7 tackles
Beau McCreery: 0 tackles

v Richmond
Tyler Brown: 6 tackles
Beau McCreery: 2 tackles

Going by the senior coach’s pressers, forward half pressure is a big part of our gameplan, and Tyler Brown has been doing his bit.

Last week we had …

  • Ginnivan
  • McCreery
  • Henry
  • N.Daicos
  • Begg
  • Bianco

That’s 6 of 22 sub 20 game players. + Tyler Brown has played 21. Wouldn‘t want to have too many more junior players than that? Players need leaders and mentors on the field to make stuff happen. That was clearly evident when Begg got the footy, there were a stack of fingers all pointing at where he should kick it.

All the more so given the entire team - young and old alike - are learning a new gamestyle.

Try to develop the current kids and have them gradually push out the older players and keep adding more. For most of them, vfl looks the right place to develop for now. Hopefully Daicos, Ginnivan, Mcreery and Henry can hold their spots and a few more put their hands up - however I can't see anyone else pushing their way into best 22 this year, accept perhaps McInness and Dean. However, others will get opportunities due to injury. .

Why is that a bad thing exactly? I'd rather play teams at full strength.

It's not a bad thing, but this season it seems to be a consistent streak so far this season, where all the stars of the competition, and the oppositions best players have made their returns to their respective sides against us after long lay-offs.....

Martin and Cotchin back against us. And now bont, English and keefe likely for the dogs. Can’t make this shit up sometimes 😂
Dusty back for us too. Fyffe and Taberner will be up and running in time for us. Merret and Stringer returned for us after missing weeks. It is a pattern.

Only Bont will be be back. But they had carnage over the weekend.

It’s been confirmed Cody Weightman broke his collarbone when he tried to lay a bump on Sam Hayes in the last quarter.
Laitham Vandermeer will also miss at least three weeks after suffering a “high grade” hamstring injury.
Defender Tim O’Brien was the third casualty of the night with a calf complaint before three quarter time.
