There's a lot of spin around us rebuilding and being young. Except you go through the squad and it's the same old players we rely upon. What is the plan for the list exactly?

Well we have the fifth oldest list in the competition. We are however playing alot of the youth together at senior level, which is good. You would feel our list demographic will change considerably over the next two to three years when the likes Pendles, Sidey, Roughead, WHE, Cox, maybe Howe call it a day.....

Draft guru has us as 12th oldest list and 10th for most games played

Will only get younger on average over the next 2 years when the veterans retire

It's not a bad thing, but this season it seems to be a consistent streak so far this season, where all the stars of the competition, and the oppositions best players have made their returns to their respective sides against us after long lay-offs.....
Were we 17th last year? Maybe the opposition coaches think 70% game time against us is similar to coming back through the VFL, but you acclimatise better playing with your normal team mates.

That's ok, l actually wish they weren't back this week, but unfortunately it looks to be they're both a definite....
Yeah.
Good players, not exactly on Bont level though. I think Weightman is more of an important out than English/Keath in. But Keath basically replaces O'Brien

How many years do you think English has been waiting for an opportunity like this? He'll dominate! And Keath is perfect for Checkers.....so?

English can't win a tap to save his life, Cameron will more than handle him. It's around the ground where English might get on top. I would even give Begg more of a chance of winning taps against English

I think the problem from my perspective isn’t Begg but Cameron.

I cut him some slack week 1 against Witts because Wittsy is a monster.

I expected him to be better this week and provide more of a contest as first ruck.

It’s two games in but I’m not seeing anything yet to confirm Cameron can play #1 ruck.

Cameron isnt a 1st choice ruck he is just a solid ruck back up, second choice ruck. Anyone who thinks he is in the top 30 rucks league wide is mistaken. Every 1st choice ruck will dominate Cameron. Nank isnt a great ruck but he is an okay 1st choice ruck. Soldo is slightly below Nank. I would still consider him an okay starter ruck in most of the teams. Begg isnt even a good back up ruck. At least in 2022. Maybe in the future he can play as a back up ruck. If you expecting Cameron to compete against 2 top 20 ruck you were mistaken.

We've got a list demographic to be as competitive as possible and keep stars whilst saving salary cap. A lot of really experienced blokes over 25 and a really large number of under 21s with few and generally cheap blokes in the mid aged group. Not many who would be in the mid salary range. Our list would generally either be really cheap or well paid.

The team is more relevant than the list in terms of looking at age, because many of those under 21 cap saving blokes, who lower our list average age, won't ever be AFL regulars, if we follow normal recruiting success rates. Without looking at data, I suspect our team would usually have more over 25s than most teams in the comp, a pretty standard number of under 21s and fewer in the in between age group.

+ Elliott

Out: Bianco, WHE
In: Ruscoe, Poulter

Cox is not the future. Persevered with Begg 👍
Play both. It is so nonsensical when coaches talk about players learning from each game as a way of improving their capabilities in future seasons if the player in question is being flogged every week. Begg has some real talent but he will never be a ruckman. In fact I think Silvagni shows more potential at the centre bounces than our Beggy. He is not going to grow another ten centimetres. He will face the same problems no matter how many centre bounces he is subjected to at the highest level.

Begg must be groomed as a forward or defender. Why persevere with something which has been a clear failure when you have a bloke standing 211cm who has been getting in the best as a legitimate ruckman in the VFL?

Is Pendles our future? What about Howe and Sidey? Roughhead is getting on in years too. Perhaps we should persevere with Kelly when he recovers from his latest injury.

Amazing when people finally see the light , it sets you free. , same old mediocre wombats is been too kind to the little Brown boys , Sidebottom, Hoskin Elliott, Bianco , Put games into Reef , Poulter , Ruscoe , McRae , Harrison , Murley. This is the future. Play the old duds , who are proven spuds 🥔, expect the same outcome. Not sold on you yet Fly. Fine to be attacking , but the fact you made not one move today , does not inspire me much. Moore is getting pantsed , you sit idly by , move him forward , ruck , turn a negative into a positive , your mate from the Lions who has the title as defensive coach , spare me, instructing your defenders to sit off their man by 5 metres is not been defensive , it’s purely an opportunity to have an armchairs ride if you are a half decent forward.
And who would have replaced Moore- our only tall defender?

Poulter in, sidebottom forward to replace bianco.

Don’t think it will matter, though.

Big leap and taller than Mumford, Ryder. Similar height to a fair few others.
