Re: Round 16 Trades

Need ruck help. My current rucks are:

Cox, Smith (Sandilands, Campbell)

Should I downgrade Sandilands to Lobbe and use the cash to upgrade other areas or should I trade Sandilands for a Goldstein/McEvoy, etc? Is Smith likely to get rested towards the end of the year? Only four trades left.

Probably depends on the rest of your team, mate. How are you looking in other areas?

Re: Round 16 Trades

Boak to Priddis
or
Heppel to Brennan
or
Darling to JRoo

Definitely not the last one.

I like Brennan as a semi unique (semi) premium. Can really pump out some monsters when he wants to and no byes left. Boak to Priddis is a tough one cos you know as soon as you get rid of Boak he scores a biggy.

Who else is in that price range and do you have Boak as M5 and Heppell M6?

Re: Round 16 Trades

B: Scotland; Deledio; Goddard; Gibbs; Shaw; Enright; Heppell (Stanley; Duigan; Batchelor)
C: Pendlebury; Boyd; Judd; Ablett; Thompson; Swan (Mzungu; Jacobs; Callinan)
R: Cox; Petrie (Smith; Bailey)
F: Pavlich; O'Keefe; Harvey; Goodes; Franklin; Chapman; N Riewoldt (Smith; Howe; Richardson)

6 trades. $16,500.

Option 1:
Zac Smith <> Matthew Lobbe
Danny Stanley <> Sam Fisher

+ Keeps Heppell/Jacobs MPP link
+ Gives relatively stable ruck setup of Cox, Petrie (Lobbe, Bailey)
- Means that I have 3 Carlton players in my backline, or potentially 2 in my backline and 2 in my forwardline. I'm not concerned about league wins, but am concerned about the chances of a donut when they have their bye
- Doesn't allow for MPP (Petrie/Lobbe) which would be handy

Option 2:
Zac Smith <> Lachlan Keeffe
Nicholas Duigan <> Sam Fisher

+ Keeps Heppell/Jacobs MPP link
+
Means that I have reduce my amount of Carlton players to 3 between by back and centre lines
- Potentially have a non-playing selection at R4, leaving Bailey at R3 as my only ruck backup

Option 3:
Zac Smith <> Matthew Lobbe

+ Potentially leaves me with Lobbe and Fisher
- Does not complete my team this week
- Leaves me $5,800 short of going Duigan <> Fisher: Fisher would need to score 72 or less for me to be able to afford him next week

Any thoughts or other suggestions would be greatly appreciated (I understand this may be unlikely as I have not responded to anybody else)! :thumbsu:

Nice team mate :thumbsu:

Option 1 for me but i'd get rid of Heppell instead of Stanley who is probably averaging more than Hep these days and has had both his byes so you get the extra week's cover. There doesn't appear to be any need for the extra MPP link but I probably haven't looked at it as closely as you hehe. If i'm looking at it right Stanley will only be needed for 3 of the remaining weeks and would be cover for the rest so i'd go with the stronger body who's more likely not to drop off towards the end of the year. If we're any chance of playing finals and he's a bit sore i could see him taking round 23 off as well and getting the 3 week break..perhaps.

Re: Round 16 Trades

Need help with a trade guys, here is my current midfield:

Dal Santo, Judd, Swan, Priddis, Boomer, D. Martin (Harris, Smith, Hibberd)

Really need to trade out Dustin Martin this week. Have I missed the boat on Ablett? 600k but a very gettable BE of 114 against the swans, I feel like I've been left behind in the past few weeks without him. Other options would be Boyd - 100k cheaper but quite average over the last few weeks and Pendlebury.

Any suggestions?

Re: Round 16 Trades

what do you guys reckon about
Z Smith - Lobbe?

I reckon Lobbe would score = if not better than Smith for the remainder of the season and means i make some coin as well

thoughts?

aslo thinking of going Swallow -> Cooney (i reckon he'll ave > 100 a game from now on and is 380k, means i can put pav fwd and have jack/nick on the bench

Interesting one, he's damn cheap at the moment and could be a decent unique M6 but i've always been a believer in spending big on mid premiums because that's where the brunt of your points are scored and Coon is every chance of posting an 80 like his buddy in Boyd (yes still bitter). Having an extra faux premium is not the worst idea in the world though :thumbsu: Would depend on trades left, goal and how you've set your team up with regard to byes etc.

Re: Round 16 Trades

Need to know people's thoughts on my planned trades. I have 10 trades left and need to get rid of Gibbs, Hurley and possibly Hibberd before finals. A bit later on that.

Trades this week:
Hurley ---> I. Smith
Rioli ---> Cloke

The reason for this is both have extremely small (and in the case of Smith) negative breakevens. I want Cloke before he goes up as a keeper for the rest of the season. Also, I will pocket a fair bit of cash to add to my $280k+ currently in the bank.

Next week:
D. Swallow ---> Ablett

More quality and will give me Ablett, Swan, Pendlebury and Goddard as potential captains.

Following week:
Gibbs ---> Fisher
And possibly I. Smith upgraded to someone else.

So that will leave me with 5 trades going into round 19. What do people think about those trades??

Let's just say I felt the same early in the season and rushed for Swan, didn't work out. Gaz had a stellar month but chasing points is risky, any average score he pulls, say 90 from now on will reduce his value by some 40k easy, just because he got a be of 114 and may rise another 20k is no reason to get him now unless you think that extra 30pts/r is worth the 200k you'll spend. The fact that you have boomer in the midfield, kind of tells me you have holes in other lines to plug..

GameOver..was that a troll post? other than the swallow to ablett trade..rest seems awfully sideways to me, unless you are ranked in top 50 already and has no alternatives for upgrades...

Smith has b/e something like -28... and averaging 98... definitely not sideways from Hurley... Cloke's b/e is 12 and with Rioli out for at least this week and the bye next, not worth keeping in my back. No guarantee he'll come back ready. And I pocket $60k+ from those moves to use later on. Gibbs has to go before finals so although Fisher isn't a huge upgrade, it's a necessary move to get rid of Gibbs.

Carlton, Geelong, Essendon and Roos have byes during finals so avoiding those teams.

Where was the troll?? And where was the sideways movement??

Thanks for the advice, yeah I'm not quite sure if I can justify that extra 100k on Ablett when I could get someone like Boyd for relatively cheap now, unless Ablett does keep up these massive scores for the rest of the season, which I guess could be unlikely and I'd just have to miss out on.The extra 30pts/r (if even that high) is probably not worth it I guess.
As for Boomer, I shifted him into my midfield a couple of weeks ago when I completed my forward line, so he's just a temporary midfielder for me haha. Just gotta fix the Martin and Boomer holes in the mid, and 2 more in the backline with 8 trades left, so it should be fine

Re: Round 16 Trades

an alternative is to get bartel (based on be, martin will drop more than bartel so probably better get jimmy now and you get your +10-15 output on martin), bank 80k, then upgrade a midfield rookie to ablett. Having boomer as spare MPP to swing is always helpful especially with the upcoming forward-unfriendly byes.

Re: Round 16 Trades

my 3 week trade plan has been stuffed by krakour dropping 10k too much to get priddis.
not wanting to settle for s thompson means i need cash.
looking at the smith - lobbe trade (I also have cox and griffen) which will get me enough cash to get priddis for krak and heppel for 480k player.
team will be as follows with 8 trades and about 170k
delidio, fisher, goddard, gibbs, shaw, enright, heppell (retzlaff, puopolo, toy)
ablett, pendles, boyd, swan, priddis, cotchin (hibberd, mzungu, gaff)
cox, griffen (lobbe, derickx)
pavlich, okeefe, harvey, goodes franklin, sylvia, n riewoldt (darling, lynch, richardson)

do u guys think lobbe will be enough of a backup for cox/griffen? plan to keep griff for 2 weeks after sandis back till he's dropped a bit then swap sandi back in.

Re: Round 16 Trades

Bewick named as emergency in the week I need him to play

Loved his 80k rise over the past 15 weeks :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Re: Round 16 Trades

Also interested to know what Lobbe j/s is...I haven't heard anything about him.
I'm also considering trading out Risca for either Chapman or Fyfe. I know it's a bit sideways but I have enough trades left for it and I really need a mpp to cover some holes in my forward line due to shit emergencies/byes.
So who do you think is the better in? Chappy or Fyfe? Would want to get it done this week to avoid paying more next week despite Fyfe's bye, I'm just going for a league win so overal points not a huge deal.

I second this dilemma. I need a fwd upgrade, currently have:
franklin, sylvia, rioli, Nroo, rok, goodes, pav, mzungu, krak, lynch

time to upgrade krak but can't decide between Fyfe/Chapman, any other good buys at the moment? I'm only after league wins so Chapman's finals bye puts me off a bit even though he's cheaper at the moment. I had considered Petrie, he can swap into my rucks if need be - but he doesn't score as high and has a bye in finals also.

Re: Round 16 Trades

I'm trading harris out, with $551,000, should i get Montagna or NDS? I'm leaning towards Montagna cause he is so cheap! But is it a risk? Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

I would go with Nick Dal Santo, hes been averaging around -115 last 5 rounds.

My problem, I am thinking of trading down Zac Smith to either Lobbe, Keefe, or a no name ruckman, It will give me enough cash to finish my last upgrade Krakour to Premium Mid. I have Ryder and Cox in the ruck at the moment.
Planning on trading Ryder out as soon as he drops form again, I have 9 trades left, So who should i trade Smith to?

Re: Round 16 Trades

I just traded Smith to Lobbe. Has been scoring well. Should play out the rest of the season. Good back up ruckman i rkn.

If i Take the risk with Keefe/No named ruck, I wont need any more downgrades for the rest of the season, just have to hope that either cox or ryder dont get rested

OK but promise not to laugh, with the amount of trades I've used it's still not pretty. :thumbsu:

Going for league so I understand I'll cop it in the neck big time this week in terms of overall (at least two donuts).

B:
Deledio, Goddard, Newman, Gibbs, Suckling, Broughton, Puopolo (L. Thompson, Hibberd, Toy)

M:
Pendlebury, Boyd, Judd, Ablett, Swan, I. Smith (Prestia, Jacobs, Wallis)

R:
Cox, Smith (Sandilands, Campbell)

F:
Pavlich, Fyfe, Sylvia, Franklin, Yarran, J. Riewoldt, N. Riewoldt (Didak, Lynch, Mzungu)

My first priority was trying to upgrade Puopolo/Thompson to Shaw/Fisher with $191,500 already in the bank and also need another premium midfielder.

Re: Round 16 Trades

I'm focusing on leagues and have 5 trades remaining, however my ruck set up is a shambles. At the moment I have Smith and Vardy rucking. Should I trade Sandilands out this week for Cox, or wait until next week, as I think D.Cox has a BE of 150. Also on the flipside of that, should I downgrade Smith to Lobbe? I'm thinking I should probably do that this week as Smith has a high BE, and Lobbe's price is about to rise.

Considering you're going for league only you might as well wait a week on Cox unless you're planning on doing more trades. Also it sounds like you'll be starting either Smith or Lobbe and personally I'd rather Smith playing out the year. He was on target for a 90+ score last week before he went off in the 3rd qtr. I don't think Lobbe has good JS, I would only get him if he was back up.

Re: Round 16 Trades

That's a really nice team. Stand outs to me are upgrade Hibberd/someone to a premium in the backline, e.g. Fisher, and upgrade Didak or one of the others to Petrie/Sylvia/Fyfe etc.
Thanks for the reply, back on page 4. I think I'll do the back line upgrade next week when Suckling has the bye. Going to give Bartel another week as I'll be watching the game live tonight :thumbsu:

Re: Round 16 Trades

Who do I get rid off;

Matner > Rawlings/Bock
or,
Lower > Bob Murphy/Scott Thompson (Roos)?
