Re: Round 16 Trades

Thanks for the reply, back on page 4. I think I'll do the back line upgrade next week when Suckling has the bye. Going to give Bartel another week as I'll be watching the game live tonight :thumbsu:

I'm pondering this same issue regarding Bartel, I'm trying to get him to Ablett; however this means a pretty significant structure change...Mainly leaving Petrie as R2 as I'll need to trade Smith down to a cheapie like Keefe...Leaves me pretty exposed even with Maxy Bailey on bench..>Anyway I digress.

What I want to say is, if you are thinking about getting rid of Bartel, this may be your last option for a while. His BE is around 175 so if he scores 100 points he'll plummet regardless and if he scores a 80 - 90 then it's over.

Very risky looking at a player on a massive BE.

Re: Round 16 Trades

Does Jonathan Brown at 322k appeal to anybody?

Is the only real forward of note I can afford in a straight swap for Didak. Can only get better surely?

Re: Round 16 Trades

Who do I get rid off;

Matner > Rawlings/Bock
or,
Lower > Bob Murphy/Scott Thompson (Roos)?

Thompson and Rawlings both have a bye 1st week of finals. Having said that, not sure that Bock or Murphy are the greatest replacements. I have Murphy in my team but have had all year. I wouldn't consider bringing him in now if he wasn't already there.

Considering he's been poor the whole year while being fit I'm not sure where the improvement is going to come from. It doesn't help that he gets 2+ opponents each game and that Brisbane struggle to get the ball to him quickly in dangerous spots. He has the potential to dominate but with Brisbane struggling so much I think he's more a player to pick next year.

Re: Round 16 Trades

Really leaning towards Smith>Goldstein but am worried:

1. What will happen when Mcintosh comes back? You'd think Goldy would still have the number 1 ruck position but this would reduce his time spent in the ruck.

2. Would be forced to play Vardy when North has the bye. This is a bit dicey as to 1. J/S issues and 2. Scoring potential.. I can only see a 50 average max in him to be honest.

I do think Goldy is roughly 10 ppg better than Mcevoy, but Mcevoy is bye free, 20k cheaper and playing the football of his life.

Current team is:
Fisher, Goddard, Gibbs, Broughton, Shaw, Deledio, Newman (Puopolo, Toy, Jacobs)

Priddis, Ablett, Swan, Pendlebury, Murphy, Boyd (Hibberd, Krakour, I.Smith)

Cox, Smith (J.Tippet, Vardy)

N.Riewoldt, Franklin, Pavlich, Cloke, Chapman, Petrie, Goodes (Mzungu, Richardson, Lynch)

Smith looks to be the only real weak link, with his break even quite high, it's time for him to go. At least we got an extra hour to decide our trades for tonight....

Re: Round 16 Trades

Definitely not the last one.

I like Brennan as a semi unique (semi) premium. Can really pump out some monsters when he wants to and no byes left. Boak to Priddis is a tough one cos you know as soon as you get rid of Boak he scores a biggy.

Who else is in that price range and do you have Boak as M5 and Heppell M6?

Boak is M6 and Heppel is a bench player but plays when others have byes.

However for this week I went against all those and finally pulled the pin on Sandilands to Lobbe. So now I have cash. Where as those alternatives I posted was when I was planning on keeping the big man. I alrady had Cox/Griffen/Petrie. My worry was when Sandilands returns Griffen is out but who knows how he will pull up and when. My issue is I now only have 3 trades.

I can now afford more I just dont know if I save those trades incase I need to replace Gibbs, S johnson or Heppel in the finals. I can now push either Gibbs, Deledio or Goddard into the MID and trade Heppel for Fisher. That leaves me 2. So now my question is probably do I save them for Gibbs/Johnson, or upgrade Harris to Pavlich leaving me with one trade but I do have plenty of cover and the usual dpp players. I'm now going to keep Boak

I pick him up each year but even I'm staying away from him at the moment. We're just not good enough for him to score well.

Re: Round 16 Trades

I'm thinking Z.Smith to Lobbe, and use Petrie as second ruck (behind Cox). Then next week upgrade Harris to Pavlich, and move him into forwards to cover Petrie leaving. Leaves me with four trades. Or I could just upgrade Heppell (D7) to Hurn/Broughton/Sucking, leaving me with five trades.

In summary;
Option 1
Z.Smith > Lobbe
Harris > Pavlich
Leaves Petrie as R2, Pavlich into forwards.

Option 2
Heppell > Broughton/Suckling/Hurn
Leaves Z.Smith as R2.

Thoughts?

Selwood's back next week!! :D

Re: Round 16 Trades

Also unsure what to do with my second trade this week

R: Cox Petrie (Smith & Bailey)

F: Pavlich ROK Goodes Franklin Roo Sylvia Smith (Mzunga, Richardson & Darling)

Could trade one of my forward bench players to J.Tippett or Lobbe to free Petrie up and ideally becoming F7 and trade Smith to someone else later.

Or should I lock him in the ruck and use my trade elsewhere.

Thoughts?

Re: Round 16 Trades

I have two trades left (i know I know).

Deledio, Goddard Newman, Enright, gibbs, shaw (Thompson, johnson (syd) Lester

Pendles, boyd, judd, ablett, swan JKennedy (Sylvia, mzungu, callinan)

Cox, Smith Sandi Jtipp

Goodes, franklin, cloke, darling, prestia, lynch, smith. (Howe, Pav, Johnston (swans)

60K banked.

Now, I clearly have to get rid of Sandi.
1. Do I downgrade to Jolly or similar, or some rookie.
2. Which one of my forward line or backline needs upgrading more....?

With two trades left, I'd be inclined to sit and watch (as hard as it might be :D). Especially since you still have Z.Smith covering Sandi's absence, and he'll still come back eventually.

Re: Round 16 Trades

Pulled the trigger on Smith and brought in Goldstein. Hoping he can average about 110 for the rest of the season....

Re: Round 16 Trades

i went for broke..

Sandi > Lobbe
Buckley > Fisher

4 trades left

Did something similar:

Sandilands > Lobbe (leaving Cox and Smith as starting rucks)
L. Thompson > Fisher

2 Trades left :)))

Also leaves me with enough money to upgrade Prestia to Dal Santo or any other premium mid.

Priddis has a great finals run if you don't have him already

will he?
I thought he was pretty much done for the season.

Anyway, I'm not in a huge rush. I'm 2nd and 3rd in my leagues so will play finals, and should probably hold on to the last two trades...

Round 17 Trades

What to do with Ablett? hope he is not out too long I finally get Selwood back this week and another is out:(

Was looking at Heppell > Broughton or Enright

Re: Round 17 Trades

Well if it's an LTR 4+ I will be forced too but I don't wanna since I only got 4 trades with Judd, scottland and Gibbs to trade in finals..

(Hope I have the bye in Geelong's one.)

Re: Round 16 Trades

Glad I didn't make the planned trades... ended up bringing in Lobbe like others... Ablett is the interesting one now as I was planning on trading him in next week... low score, brings price down but will he be ok?? Griffin is another option, Mitchell, S.Thompson... 8 trades left so got options
