Unique choice and absolutely racks them up when Harvey plays him in the midfield. Means I'll be rotating Adcock/Lower through D7.

Avoiding Fisher indefinitely. Will have to think about Shaw, his price is enticing but has the ability to attract a solid tag.

My team as it stands:

DEF: Goddard, Deledio, Broughton, Fisher, Gibbs, Shaw, Heppell (Smith, Howard, Duigan)
MID: Pendles, Swan, Ablett, Hodge, Boyd, Murphy (Hibberd, Bewick, Smith)
RUCKS: Cox, Kreuzer (Tippett, Bathie)
FWDS: Pavlich, Goodes, Chapman, Stevie J, Petrie, N Rooey, Mzungu (Franklin, Richardson, Rioli)

Assuming Ablett doesn't play, and Richardson and Bewick don't play, I'll be one man down for a crucial league match this week. ($3200 prize money)

Is Isaac Smith > Syliva

What are peoples thoughts on this trade? It allows me to have Midfield cover of Sylvia, Forward cover of Petrie, Ruck cover with Petrie.

Also, for league finals, when Geelong has the bye (Stevie J + Chappy) and another player is injured 1st week of finals (Murphy), I can still make 2 trades and substitute a Sylvia.

6 trades left, $112k. Ranked 839.

Any help would be awesome lads.

consider the fact barlow will be back, as will MUndy around finals time and broughton's time in the middle may be drastically cut.

Nah bud, it would require a double trade.

Melb have a nice run home, WCE (Etihad), Richmond (MCG), Gold Coast (MCG), Port (AAMI).

Would most likely be required for at least 2 of those games.

how much do you have to spend? might be time for a GUTSY point of difference to those above you..

Sylvia is pretty popular and lately melbourne have more and more sharing time in the middle, Trengrove,Scully etc etc thus reducing Sylvia's big break out chances...

Scotland has finals bye and was potentially injured on the weekend, Fisher finally got tagged (will other teams employ this tactic too)... kinda depends on what you are gunning for and who else you have in your team

Pretty much the reason why i filled my team up with Dees. Sylvia for one has been disappointing as hell so i'm not sure if there's better options but there's definitely a few with better form. Hoping they can turn it around with finals a real chance.

Yeah gotta agree here. I've got Broughton (and have all year) and without crunching the numbers his average must be at least 10pts better without Mundy and Barlow, ie more midfield time. Pretty decent unique pick though imo.

ok - 3 non sylvia options for you - Embley (eagles have a dream run home), montagna (saints are beginning to march) or boomer harvey if the MPP is required. I reckon all 3 will average more than Sylvia and would be unique

Cam Pedersen has a breakeven of 92. Could be a reasonable trade to make some money.

This week is a grudge match v one of my mates, we have a $200 bet on this week.

So im thinking of 2 options. bare in mind i have 6 trades left

Option 1. Straight swap Waite for J.Brown. This uses only 1 trade and pockets me 20k or so.

Option 2. Downgrade I.smith, then upgrage Waite to Pavlich. this burns 2 trades leaving me 4 for the rest of the year.

So which option, obv im leaning towards option 2 because having pav in my team will give me a better chance of winning this week, but i really think buring two trades will leave me short if i do make the finals

Some ideas:

can you afford a swap to Sylvia? I think he has a better chance of scoring high compared to Brown who's a forward in a bad team.

As for downgrading, you would get a lot more money out of going to one of the crows forwards in Callinan (who may be out for a bit) or Talia (who's only played 1 game) but Smith has topped out from a money making standpoint and personally I'd look elsewhere if you're considering him as a backup player for the rest of the year. Perhaps Krakouer, or Didak or another forward averaging a low amount but playing every week.

In terms of holding onto trades.. well they are gold but you kind of have to make them at some stage... I wouldn't make the trades based on purely winning this week (unles that's really important!) but I would make them if they are trades you had planned to make at some stage anyway - if that makes sense.

Ive already got sylvia, and when i said im downgrading smith i meant im trading him out, probably for talia.

This week is pretty important becase i get $200 if i win. SO i think im just gunna bit the bullet and double trade. No point leaving trades in the shed if i dont make the finals.

Have to agree, No point sitting back and thinking what might have been got to go now if your behind the 8 ball.

Talia look's like a good option might open up D/F moves during finals for you too if you have some one like R.Murphy. Still a little risky this week as talia has only played 1 game. Smith's BE is 90 but he's averaging 80 so it's very do able plus this can wait till next week as the hawk's have the bye and talia won't go up in value for another week.

I know he out for 3 weeks but he will def come back in at some point. Are there any other midfielders downgrade options?
