Re: Round 17 Trades

i was contemplating that trade but wanted to use the xtra money on upgrading Z smith to McEvoy

gotta love super coach!

Cool, was thinking smith for Mumford after swans bye, saints have a very tuff ruck run during finals

Re: Round 17 Trades

Am i crazy to think about trading Adcock to Talia and keeping Stanley backline would be:

Scotland, Lids, Fisher, Gibbs, Goddard, Enright, Rawlings (Talia, Stanley, Puopolo)

Stanley and Puops have low break evens and could provide adequate cover during finals

But the Carlton bye is a worry with Gibbs and Scotland

Re: Round 17 Trades

So i studied the Form Guide all week looking for under valued stars and have gone for Supercoach Glory or this will make for an epic FAIL

I've loaded up, Brang in Monty for Iles and Brennan for T.Walker they are by far the most under priced semi-premimum's available this week.

So I know look like this

3 trades left
134K in the Bank

BACKS: Scotland, Fisher,Lids,Goddard,Gibbs,enright, Rmurphy (Pedersen,Strauss,Howard)
MIDS: Pendles, GAJ,Bartel,Hodge,A.Swallow,Rockliff (Monty,i.smith,helbig)
RUC: Cox, Lobbe (Sandi,Moran)
FWDS: Buddy,ROK,Pav,Fyfe,Silvia,brennan,Mzungu (Lynch,McKernan,Richardson)

The rest of my money goes to the forward line and maybe a carlton player. I also pray to god Mzungu can make some more cash this week and next and swap him to a gun.

Any thought's?

Re: Round 17 Trades

Hey everyone,

My planned trade for this week is Smith > Mumford. Mumford's got a decent average and his price is really low. I'm not worried about the bye because I'm only interested in league.

Here's my team for reference: Currently have 6 trades and 67k

b: goddard, gibbs, deledio, newman, shaw, broughton, fisher, strauss, puopolo, delaney
m: ablett, pendles, swan, judd, priddis, boak, smith, mzungu, hibberd
r: cox, smith, hale, campbell
f: pav, rok, goodes, Nroo, sylvia, krak, lynch, franklin, rioli, pitt

any thoughts as to yes/no/alternatives are appreciated :thumbsu:

Nice side. Forward line in particular is very strong.

Firstly, the trade is a good one. It's a fairly significant upgrade, and Smith will probably tire as the season goes on given he has shouldered so much of the ruck work this year. Mumford is very cheap as you say, and has the capacity to score massively.

Smith is playing Richmond who don't have a strong ruck division, and he could eclipse his BE of 100 (from memory) - and should do OK around the ground.

Mumford's BE is about 111 (again from memory), so it might be an OK idea to save the trade until next week, or the week after assuming Mumford scores low and Smith scores high, because their price will get even closer together, and you might be able to keep Smith until after Mumford's bye, and avoid playing a bench ruck.

By saving the trade you can always do something else if you're hit with say 2 major injuries in your midfield - because Smith really isn't a bad second ruck.

Best of luck.

Thanks for replying. That's a good point, I had considered their BEs but hadn't thought about their opposition and the timing of the byes... I'll stew over it or the rest of the day. I'm always on about saving trades when they aren't essential but I am tempted to pull the trigger anyway! :p

Re: Round 17 Trades

Backs: Gibbs, Fisher, Delidio, Shaw, Goddard, Lower, Hibberd (Jacobs, Hutchins, Toy)
Mids: Pendlebury, Murphy, Boyd, Swan, Bartel, Montagna (I.Smith, Mzungu, Irons)
Rucks:Cox, Smith (Sandilands, Jacobs)
Forwards: Pavlich, Goodes, Johnson, Sylvia, Chapman, N.Reiwoldt, Franklin (Howe, T.Lynch, Richardson)

9 trades left and $158,300 in the kitty, so setting up nicely for league win.

Thinking that i will trade Sandilands to Mumford, and then upgrade Hibberd to a premium defender. Probably Newman or Broughton.

Any thoughts on the best defender to bring in? Newmans draw looks best, and Broughton may be in the running for some more midfield time....

Hmmmm....

Looks good probably need to work on Forward line next, with descisions being lynch and Krak improve one for better cover. Maybe also boak upgrade and can alway's cash in hibberd as he won't help you win a grand final.

broughton might lose time in the middle with barlow back and suban not fair off it maybe suckling or birchall as they got the Gold coast grand final week.

Someone posed this question the other day re: Newman v Broughton. It's a tough one because I'd say Newman is more consistent but Broughton seems to be hitting some form of late and has a much bigger potential for higher scores.

Looking at your team though you probably want to make 2 backline upgrades anyway so perhaps just go based on their current prices and BEs? You may end up picking both up before the year is out.

Thanks for replying. I've got my eye on Boak and wouldn't mind bringing in a bench premium like you're suggesting, but I won't be making any moves I don't have to until closer to finals. I've got 2 Carlton premiums and would like to be able to trade during finals if I have to due to injury etc.

Thanks Mate

Went with Newman, mostly due to him having GCS this week. Only have Lower to upgrade now, which may be to Birchall if i'm in finals contention.

Re: Round 17 Trades

I currently have 12 trades left.

Thinking..
Duigan -> M.Watson
and either
I.Smith -> N.Fyfe/ROK
J.Darling ->N.Fyfe/ROK

Thoughts?

My team so far.. With Hawks on bench..

Deledio, Gibbs, Newman, Goddard, H.Shaw, Heppell, Lower
(Duigan/Hibberd/L.Thompson)

Ablett, Swan, Judd, Boyd, Montagna, A.Swallow
(Mzungu/Pittard/Bewick)

Cox, Z.Smith
(Lobbe/M.Bailey)

Pavlich, Goodes, J.Roo, N.Roo, Sylvia, Howe, Darling
(I.Smith/Franklin/I.Callinan)

Thanks in advance for any feedback! :)

I think bring in fyfe, has had a very consistent year and with no byes those trades could net you plenty of points in the run home.

Hey, team's in good shape, especially considering you've got 12 trades left!

After looking up some numbers I think I'd go with Smith > Fyfe as the upgrade. As with an earlier poster you're still looking at multiple upgrades so getting value for money is important. I've got ROK and been happy with him but his price is very high at the moment and Fyfe with a higher avg is 25k cheaper and no byes. The reason I say Smith instead of Darling is merely that he's probably reached his peak in terms of price. Also, when the hawks get back players he may sit out where as Darling seems to be in the Eagles best 22.

Also, Watson seems a popular inclusion this week but I'd be looking at Talia only because even with injuries the Blues have waited a long time to give Watson his 3rd game.

That's all just my opinion though, good luck with whatever you decide!

Re: Round 17 Trades

Who is more likely to get games Cam Richardson or Arryn Siposs?

Need to trade 1 to either Talia or Callinan. Leaning toward Callinan even with the hammy. Should come back in 3-4 weeks and i have cover for him. 1 of those weeks is a bye so he will only miss 2 more games than Talia. Thoughts?

I think Siposs has much better job security than Cam Richardson.

I would go Fyfe over ROK. A big factor is that Fyfe doesn't have any more byes. On top of that I think there is no risk of Fyfe's role changing whereas ROK often changes roles and sometimes it limits his SC scoring. The only worry with Fyfe is his shoulders but they seem to be standing up pretty well at the moment.

Re: Round 17 Trades

What are peoples thoughts on Birchall vs Enright as a Shaw replacement? Enright would be my only Cat. I love his upcoming draw but have avoided the Cats because of the finals bye. Birchall would obviously be a couple of weeks away given the bye and high BE.

Re: Round 17 Trades

Probably wait a week and go Shaw > Suckling. Question now is whether I go ahead with my Bolton > Pendlebury trade, which would leave me with only 3 left.

Re: Round 17 Trades

Heath Shaw suspended for 14 weeks!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek:

I have dodged a bulltet this week

Re: Round 17 Trades

On my Adcock trade it leaves my def looking like this

Fisher Goddard Deledio Newman Enright Gibbs Adcock

(Rawlings, Jacobs, Poupolo)

Just wanted a fair bit of cover for the byes.
