My idea was to downgrade Krak to a rookie mid, say Riley, then upgrade either Puopolo to a handy backman, Enright or Hurn, or upgrade I. Smith to either Neon or Cloke maybe, Any thoughts on all of this, or other potential downgrades/upgrades.

I have 4 trades left and $56k

I think you'll make more points by upgrading Smith in your rucks.
Though I like the idea of Leon... def try to work him in aswell.
The most likely back I'd get would be Broughton though with only 58 last week he should drop in price after this round... other then that I don't see a defender really scoring much more then Poups or Lower to justify a trade unless you go for Scotland and cop the bye he will have.

Good point about the MPP factor in Smith. Would have liked Scotland and Judd weeks ago, but won't get them in now, as I have Murphy/ Gibbs. Maybe after the bye. I think Neon would be a unique to some degree. Rucks are still up in the air for this week.

No point in trading Montagna. If you really can't cover for Bartel (although you could put Mzungu on the field,bench Chappy in mids,bench Johnson in Fwds,Smith and Howe on the field forward) then option two. 2 upgrades sounds good.
Who should I get out of Goodes and Buddy? Buddy plays G.C in 24 but held by Bock last time. Goodes plays Brisbane in 24 but Geelong in 23.

I think getting rid of Montagna is a good idea. He is no longer a true premium (av under 100) and seems to be spending alot of time up fwd. Same with Cross if anybody has him - playing on wing and too defensive. Trading up to players that average over 110 (and are capable of huge scores) could make the difference in finals.

Im thinking either option 1:

or option 2:

Any other ideas would be great, obviously not gonna do all 3 trades straight away anyway but just ideas.

Wouldnt trade in Chapman this week.

What about
Hibberd - Callinan (about $470k in the bank)
Prestia - Fyfe ($275k)

Next week or the week after use the last trade to get another MID (Dal Santo?) for Krakouer/Mzungu to cover Judd in Round 23.

You will then have a full team, with a spare MID and decent backup in Mzungu/Krakouer and fairly good MPP. Lower is a decent replacement for Newman, who sounds like he could be back for the last couple.

If I were you I'd consider trading Howe for Callinan for quick cash then 1 of Mzungu or Smith to Fyfe.
That way you could play Fyfe in your forward line (through Callinan) this week instead of N Roo who I think will struggle tonight, then next week with the Cats bye you have Fyfe (N Roo) covering for S Johnson while using the DP of Smith/Mzungu to cover for Chapman.
Then next week maybe go Bartel to Ablett.
Also being Bartels 200th this week, hopefully he has a blinder anyway!

i'm quite Freo heavy at the moment... what would you think getting o'keefe instead of fyfe?

O'Keefe should match it with Fyfe with those draws. I'm Freo heavy as well and would go O'Keefe with his experience.

Actually you'll have even more options if you trade Howe for Callinan... then swap Smith/Mzungu from your mids to forwards through him, you can then do a straight swap for a solo forward rather then be looking at just Mid/Fwds.
That's if you would prefer to go with someone like Leon Davis/Cloke/Rioli instead.
You allready have Pav and Goodes as F/M's so you won't have to go another DP.

I do admit that I have O'keefe... I get sucked in every year, saw he scored about 8 good 100's in a row and opted for him over Fyfe... I don't think he has scored a 100 since!
Hopefully you'r onto something and he finishes off strong with that draw.
Whoever you choose would a similar gamble... I think I'm only gunning for Fyfe for all those points I missed out when choosing O'Keefe over him!.

^I'd be starting Mzungu.

Struggling to decide who to get in for J Roo out of Rioli and O'Keefe. O'Keefe perhaps seems the better option on paper but my two major league threats already have him, whereas neither has Rioli. With his run home Rioli could be a good point of difference. Any thoughts?

So was thinking off upgrading Swallow, then trading out lynch to callinan so then i could get Mzungu on the field for petrie, the down fall of doing that trade is then have to play smith or lobbe as my ruck.

Another option was to upgrade swallow, then upgrade smith, then if i do that have to play either lynch or howe in replace for petrie.

So what are people thoughts on what i should do any advice would be appreciated.

Mzungu.
I'm starting him over sylvia this week. I've just lost confidence in Sylvia.

Big trouble for me this week. I am going to have to take a donut for Petrie.
I don't want to waste a trade on it.

May result in me losing 2 elimination finals but so be it.

As long as you make as much cash as you need I'd go Harris.
As for upgrade... sadly it would seem N Roo is the underperformer and the games will only get tougher, good for a back up forward but for a starter I'd try to get someone scoring or upgrade a bench player and relagate him to your forward emergency.
Allthough you can make a case for Higgins (play out the season?) and Mzungu (score enough?) aswell.

haha... maybe i'm against fyfe cause i look at him each week and dont take the punt because hes a 2nd year... so now when i do it all but assures he'll score 43 pts!

what is the go with newman? article today didnt seem very convincing. however, if he is back by, say round 23, then im happy to keep him. this would mean i would upgrade lower to adcock/hurn, leaving my backline:
Goddard, Fisher, Gibbs, Deledio, Enright, (adcock/hurn), duigan (newman, talia, strauss)
im pretty confident of winning my qualifyings, and going thru to the prelims, which would mean i can regain newman
has anyone heard anything on newmans injury? or am i better off trading newman to adcock/hurn, and using that cash to upgrade smith/bailey in my rucks

If you're sold on Fyfe then it sounds great. Geelong have bye next week but if you win and are in top four then that's irrelevant. I'd consider O'Keefe or Goodes if you don't have them though.
I still can't decide who to trade out of Higgins N.Roo and Mzungu to Goodes.
