For just the second time in Formula 1 history, the top two drivers are level on points heading into the final race of the season.
And it was even less likely to happen in 2021 than it was in 1974, when Emerson Fittipaldi beat Clay Regazzoni to the title, because many more points are given out nowadays.
When Fittipaldi won his second world title, he won with 55 points from Regazzoni’s 52. This time, Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton are tied on an extremely specific 369.5 points.

Verstappen has pole position thanks to his uber-consistent season, featuring nine wins, eight seconds, a ninth, five fastest laps and five points from the three qualifying sprints.
Hamilton has come charging home, with three consecutive wins to bring his season tally to eight, plus seven seconds, a third, a fourth, a fifth, a seventh, six fastest laps and two points from a qualifying sprint.

I haven't watched F1 in years. It got really boring late 90s / early 2000s and I gave up on it. I much prefer touring cars / Supercars to be honest. I used to love the BTCC. Ah the commentary of Murray Walker just made it 100% better too. One of the funniest ever pieces of commentary was back in the early nineties when Toyota's strap line was "the car in front is a Toyota". During one race we had the vision from inside one car and Walker is commentating. As the camera car comes around a bend to the carnage of a crash scene and deadpan Walker says "and the car on it's roof is a Toyota". Brilliant

Not fanatically but yeah I watch it. Though next year when it is American car vs American car, I probably won't.

Never really followed it closely but it seemed to lose its way in the last 10 years, no free to air races and they lost sponsorship and then that affected everything else as well. I know a few of the drivers though, or used to.

I mostly follow F1 (and AFL and cricket), but even the F1s got boring when they let Mercedes get so far ahead of the pack and wouldn’t allow any other team to advance their systems in the meantime. It’s boring as **** when the same team wins all the time, especially with Ricciardo battling to make Q3.
