On the Greg Lynn committal proceedings Crown Prosecutor Mr Dickie said 'It is clear hopefully from the document, and if it's not clear from the document it's clear hopefully from the charges put before the court, that it is alleged of course that the accused acted with murderous intent when he allegedly killed the two victims.'

It's that he was so utterly ruthless, self centered and calculating in the disposal of the bodies to save his career and his club memberships, isn't going to help him imo.

Even if one death was an accident, it suggests he would be capable of despatching with the remaining witness with the same ruthless efficiency, to save his career.

Yes but that’s after they were dead…

“Why should I loose my career because of the actions of a grumpy old man” could have been his justification… he knew his life was ruined if he was linked to the deaths. So in his view he had no option but to cover it up. As sick as it sounds ..

In my opinion. I can see the jury finding guilty 2 x murder.

I’ve tossed and turned in the last few weeks closely following the trial as much as possible. Umming and ahhing at he beginning.

But after lots of thought I think there is a guilty verdict coming his way.

My opinions and hope I’m allowed to convey these!
Likewise , I initially felt that D.D.was doing a great job of providing doubt to the prosecution's claims... however I was shocked at his efforts today, wheras the D.P. seemed to finally pull it all together. I think 2 guilty verdicts too.

How is he rewarded?
How has the prosecution proved Murder beyond reasonable doubt?
How has the Prosecution proven his story is completely false?

What we can prove is it, was Lynns gun, at Hills camp site, which is grounds for Manslaughter IMO.
We have a confession of the events after the conflict and he’ll be sentenced for that as well.
If it was murder and I think it was then MS is a lesser sentence and hence rewards for his destruction of evidence.

It’s an interesting point … if it really was technically manslaughter, should there be a seperate crime classification for covering up a manslaughter? Or simply the maximum sentence for manslaughter has to be given!

What are thoughts on possibility of this service/facility being available for this case?

So we might get judgement and sentencing livestreamed.
Or recordings after the case is closed?

It’s a case with a high level of public interest, I would’ve thought, but perhaps the intimate and gruesome after-actions may deem it unsavoury for the general public?

I will very much miss this considered conversation, reflection, thought and interaction in this group/forum. I’ve found almost contribution to be worthy of a read.

Pamcake1 offered a really balanced view of the situation (a few days ago) which I can’t find at the moment.
Not sure which one you want to revisit here GardenGnome :

Narcissistic Personality Disorder comes to mind. Or borderline. IMO.

They can never do that as he erased every shred of evidence. Trying to raise massive doubts on his unlikely story and pushing the narritive that his actions post event imply guilt.

He doesnt need to push a narrative if theres reasonable doubt.

I hope you are right, I’m now very nervous about the outcome.

Btw, I always picture you posting on your recliner with a laptop by a pool.

Thankfully a few people here are not on the jury.

2 weeks ago I wasn't hopeful but after hearing some of GL on the stand it got my hopes up a little.

Will DD ever see the big dollars?

According to GL statement, there’s still a large mortgage on the house and ML part time job is low paid - and the household has lost the high flying big bucks.
Super? Other assets? (They could sell the Nissan..have to change the colour though!😉😋). I can't imagine Mr Dann doing this one pro bono....

I thought there was already some talk the house was funding the defense.? Not sure off course and I wonder how much it will end up costing Lynn.?
Well, say weeks is 25 sitting days in court, on good authority say 16-20k/day for Dann, thats still 400-500K..let alone disbursements, pre work, assissting counsel McGrath, and all the initial hearings about what evidence was in/out...I know Pilot super is good, but it's going to be a very sizeable sum of money!💰💰💰💰

From a practicality perspective GL loses irrespective. Whatever sentence he gets, when he gets out he’ll lose all of his club memberships, firearms licence, won’t be able to fly (too old anyway at that time) will probably need to sell the house, use up his super etc.

If you had to balance the books and chose which path to take it would never be the one he chose if it went down like he claims. IMO.

In considering a big part of Lynn's defence is that he told the cops where the remains were and Dann keeps ramming it home, I wonder if this is what Dann wants the jury dismissed over?
Its one of 25 noted points that DD has put forward....we'll see at 10.45 this morning...late start today (wed), as DD has a small appearance conflict in court of appeals this morning....the witty repartee from Justice Croucher about DD thinking he would be done in 30min in front of bench of 3 elicited much laughter from both counsel and court staff!🤣😂🤣
Dann was adanant he is good to go at 10:45...notwithstanding of course, him reserving his right to apply for discharge after reading full transcript...in thinking about it in deconstructing the day, I do think its more performative bluff that actuality. I think he wants agency in the alternative of being able to state in his summation all the instances that "Prs didn't follow the rules" in addressing the jury, and have Justice Croucher issue a durection as such in his charge to Jury.
Justice Croucher was less enamoured with such a direction, and gave legal argument on why he was averse to doing that.
It will be debated further today during breaks....FWIW, Prs. did mot seem perturbed, although priposed that he would review transcript in detail as well, to reinforce his believe he complied, and hadn't transgressed the "rules".
I perceive its Defence just rolling this dice on last time? 🎲🎲
