You've had your recognition ....maybe too much ... a case of over exposure

My next project is Metalcrusher .....I think Antonio BlueVein would agree, a Rookie that has equally taken the SFA by storm
Well, I don't think a living God can ever receive too much recognition, but I trust your judgement and metalcrusher is worthy.

Why does it matter If the vein agrees? He is just a rookie himself is he not? Why should one rookie hold dominion over the others.

And before you ask, a living God, even if technically a rookie, is an exception.

Round 10

Collectively, rookies dominated round ten with six players cracking 90 ADT, including four who topped 100 ADT and cracked the top ten of all players for the week. JackBero backed up a magnificent Round 9 performance with a dominant display in the middle for the Furies with 24 disposal, ten marks and two goals. Round 3 Rising Star nominee, Ned Ryerson, beat his opponent convincingly on the wing, racking up 25 disposals, including 17 handballs, and five marks. Bombers trio, mochacinolatte, Requiem and Hands On all featured prominently on the field but failed to post five times in their match thread or average five posts per week across the season.

This week's nominee, Antonio BlueVein, didn't have a great game by his standards but has performed strongly this season in the middle of the ground averaging 19 disposals and five marks, winning their matchup six times from ten and made the Baz Stats Team of the Week in Round 5. He has also averaged an insane 194 posts per week in match threads. I sat down with Antonio BlueVein and Bombers co-captain, Tony Lynn 15, to discuss ABV's season to date.

Antonio BlueVein

BB: You've had a fairly solid season to date winning six of your ten matchups and making a Team of the Week. How do you rate your season so far?

ABV: Great question Barry.

I’ve had a couple good qooty matches but my kick-to-handball ratio has been a bit skewed. Shots on goal have been another area in which I’m keen to tidy up over the next pre-season.

I have however laid some crunching tackles and taken about 17 screamers so one would think I’ll be winning some kind of qark of the year award.

I’m bitterly disappointed with my most recent match as I was dragged and benched for the first quarter or so.

The Sim obviously doesn’t take too kindly to The Veiner taking its only daughter out to the drive-ins.

We watched Aladdin.

BB: You've taken to the league like a duck to water, averaging a whopping 194 posts per week! What activities do you enjoy when you're not on Big Footy?

ABV: Well, the reason behind that whole post average was I thought I may be able to give Grockadoc ’s record a shake.

Yeah nah that’s not gonna happen unless... well, never.

May have ruffled a few feathers as I was settling in as well but to all those I posted against in the first 10 rounds, expect a much more enjoyable experience the next time we play.

Hobbies outside of the SFA are:

1. Long walks along the beach with KohPhi

2. Sending my teammates pics of my home cooking and being told off by CazC30 for not cleaning my Smeg often enough 😭

3: Long walks along the esplanade with Tony Lynn 15

4: Counting my beez votes, doesn’t take long 🙂

5: Rinse and repeat.

BB: How are you enjoying your Sweet FA experience so far?

ABV: Another cracking question friend.

The SFA is full of wonderful characters of all shapes and sizes that have all
left an impression on me in one way or another.

I look forward to my next 489 games at the Bombers all of which I can assure you will be littered with comedy, gifs, bombs, goats and all the other stuff which makes Baghdad the SFA’s most liveable city.

I am both excited and humbled by the nomination Barry, thank you for thinking of me.

Best of luck to the other 11 clubs for the remainder of the season, thanks for making S28 a memorable one so far!

Kind regards, The Veiner xoxo

P.s Now WaynesWorld19 and I will keep out of your thread 🙂

BB: If only that were true. Thanks for your time and keep up the good work!

Tony Lynn 15

BB: Where did you find Antonio BlueVein and how did you get him to the Bombers?

TL15: Great question. ABV or The Veiner as he is affectionately known came through the KohPhi Qootball Qactory. He has been under the tutelege of the great man for some time now, some may even say they are the same person. As usual I really did nothing except take credit and sign him illegally through the sign up thread.

BB: What has ABV added to your team this season?

TL15: A lot. He has picked up the whole SFA vibe quickly and adjusted some of his posting style along the way. He has also brought an updated version of the Babado GIF and my current favourite 'Hey You Guuuyyysss".

BB: ABV has a healthy appetite for posting. What does his daily food intake look like?

TL15: He has a veracious appetite. Just think of the healthy food pyramid turned upside down.

BB: Sounds a bit like my diet. Thankfully that hasn't hurt my qoo.... wait, yes it has. Thanks for your time and good luck for the rest of the season.

Thanks Barry, appreciate the nomnomnom 🙂

Round 10 seems quite a fitting number, does it not?

As everything starts with either a 0 or a 1?

Get it? Because binary! 💋

I did call the Round 10 nom a while back, I have quoted proof.

Hey Baz, I’m not the geriatric who keeps tagging people in this thread to get a rise.

Something which I’m sure B52 struggles with everyday.

The rise that is.

I hope you all have a splendid day 🙂

Furthermore, I couldn’t care about a fake rising star nomination from a fake sportsmen in a fake competition with fakey fakeness everywhere.

So, possibly round 10 for my nom yeah? 🙂

As everything must begin with either a 0 or a 1 I will accept this nomination with grace and I am extremely humbled by it.

Hmmm.

Antonio BlueVein I really enjoyed this interview. I, unlike most others here, like, and also pay careful attention to, words.

Funny things words. They can bounce around unexpectedly.

Tell me, what is a grockadoc?

You are perceptive and wise, Mr Kern. This is why I like you.

A Grockadoc is a creature which once posted over 1000 times in a single match thread...

But I’m sure you are aware of that now?

I quite enjoyed the interview as well!

Barrybran is a lovely fella.

Tony Lynn 15 and I did take a walk along the esplanade after the interview, was magical.

There were many dumplings.

Check the post that I above replied to.

How does a rookie know about grockadoc? Do you? How is it that this can be said?

What are the possibilities? They are at least worthy of probing. Is someone feeding him information? Is he a research freak? Is he a rookie?

3 solid questions Kern.

You are at least my intellectual equal, so I think you’ll be able to answer those questions fairly easily yourself.

I am most certainly looking forward to our upcoming rematch.

On the plus side our great club is back to full strength!

Don’t believe his smoke screen Far Kern something stinks in here and for once it isn’t you!

Round 11

After picking up a nomination last week for cumulative effort, Antonio BlueVein collected 16 disposals and seven marks while keeping his opponent to seven touches as the Bombers went down by five points to Warriors. Previous nominees Dr Mantis Taboggan (Round 1), MightyHawks86 (Round 2) and AuntyBlindEye (Round 6) also had big games, leading their teams to victory and scoring a Baz Stats Team of the Week nomination in the process. This week's nominee, Bloodied52 of the West Coast Wonders, wasn't the best player on the park but he won his matchup convincingly, booting an impressive five goals from five kicks in the forward pocket.

I caught up with Bloodied52 and Wonders captain, Dingster, for a chat.
Bloodied52

BB: Five kicks, five goals. It doesn't get much better than that. How did you feel after that performance?

B52: Thanks for that. On the face of it looks like an efficient performance. However Sab22 reminded me via a cuff over the ear in the Sheds that I had simply run into his space 27 times and the ball had been gifted to me five times. I had in short stuffed him up.

BB: You're two thirds of the way through your rookie season. How are you enjoying it?

B52: I am of course enjoying playing our great game and learning from generous and famously responsive folk like Ant Bear. Overall the quality of the banter is pretty damn useful. Each team has its own character and its set of characters.

I note there are heaps of stand-out Rookies this year. I won't name them but the SFA has picked up a diverse bunch of newbies who are proficient at the game and the bantz. Equally there are some ageless veterans who are generous and young promising types like Mobbs

On a more serious note I believe there is a sterile dichotomy between the Ant Beareanas and the BRABanistas. A true SFA revolution based on #goalsfortheprols is needed. Can I do my pastiche of Fidel Castro's nine hour speeches now? ...erm... perhaps not.

BB: How did you find your way to Sweet FA and the Wonders?

B52: I was out on the town having escaped from the nursing home. Let's say it was a very long brunch. The next thing I remember I woke with a sore head and tied up in a hessian bag. Having been shanghaied many times before, I realised what had happened.

Eventually a kind young fella (Dingster) chucked me out of the bag and explained I was in Sweetville and my new home was with the Wonders at the Colosseum. (of course I remember when it was built)

BB: It's been a pleasure to have you about this season. Thanks for your time and good luck for the rest of the season.

Dingster

BB: B52 is getting the job done in the forward pocket each week. What has his role been this season?

D: A combination of reasons made B52 into the elite small forward of the competition. I really wanted to get a couple of the veterans in SSwans2011 and Wojcinski back into the midfield this season and they've been playing great qooty. B52 ended up in a pocket and he's been a sensation in both pi**ing Sab off and kicking multiple goals. Basically Jezmiester40 in his prime only better.

BB: He's averaging 55 posts per week and can be found all over the board. What has B52 added to the Wonders?

D: Energy! I have been innovative in getting more viagara into his diet. Crushing it up and lacing his falsies is just the beginning. This kick starts his indomitable style which has endeared him to the Wonders' players, nurses and Natural Disaster.

BB: How would you rate his chances for the Rising Star?

D: Excellent. He is elite in his position and posting numbers (the sweet spot) and did a brilliant media piece. The others are playing for second TBH.

BB: Those are big words, Ding. Let's see how it plays out.

Bloodied52 you need to answer me honestly, because a single sentence here made me swallow my puke.

Is Ant Bear helping you?

The highest praise I could possibly give you Bloodied52 - is that I didn’t even know you were a Rookie. All class . And I’ve really enjoyed our WW interactions so far as well :)

Interesting reaction you had. Was it something you ate?

Re Ant Bear of course he is the poor fellow charged with running the SFA. While sympathetic to the #goalsfortheprols cause, he strikes me as an ethical fellow who administers the rules as these are written. That said in historical terms he strikes me as a bit of a roundhead Oliver Cromwell.

His oppo strike me as absolute monarch restorationist types with brahj as their Bonnie Prince Charley. Both camps are missing the chance to rapidly accelerate economic and social revolution... but I won't go on a Castro spiel ... I promised Baz.

Ant Bear of course helps all his team mates. I should perhaps have noted other players who go out of their way to help us greenhorns out to balance things out.

Far too many to mention even come from other clubs. Examples of these folk, some of whom are captains include the redoubtable and incredibly competent NaturalDisaster , the all embracing pantskyle , the generous TJASTA , the inimitable teenager TedDougChris , the faux revolutionary BRAB and the chaste Tony Lynn 15 .

Shucks. If I was two millennia younger I'd trundle over on my chariot and rescue you from East Praetoria (name change from Perth reflects migration of certain folk from Sth Africa).

More seriously, I enjoy our interactions as well!

**doffs cap** Hope you have pulled through ok after the bruising encounter last night. I am nursing a sore noggin after Agent93 cleaned me up a few times and skinned knuckles from clocking him whenever I had the chance.
