He might get points off for the Rebecca Black Friday pinning effort in our match thread but yes otherwise, sound logic. My prediction for the Round 13 nomination will be FootyGuy13 for his efforts in creating this weeks match threads. That has to be worth something.
Yeah, he's disqualified for that.He might get points off for the Rebecca Black Friday pinning effort in our match thread but yes otherwise, sound logic.
Congratulations mate, you're in elite company. He might get points off for the Rebecca Black Friday pinning effort in our match thread but yes otherwise, sound logic.

Hmmm, two players clearly looking to play in the twos next week.Yeah, he's disqualified for that.

Sh*t's getting tense in the Torch of the Season nominations. Like Rocky sequels, they're quickly running out but they aren't quite done yet. Let's see who the challengers are this week.
BJO barman and self-confessed Menace to Society BLUEALLTHRU has presented again with his trademarked mix of hospitality and hostility, which I like to call Hospilityᵀᴹ. Dragon pup and Sylvester Stallone lookalike T2B_ is another to back up after many previous close calls while rookie Warrior FootyGuy13 has a 33.3% chance of obtaining both nominations in the one round after taking out the Gun of the Week. Has he done enough?
Sorry Guy, nil points for you. BAT was also super close, but will have to wait another round for his chance, so without any further ado please join me in congratulating this week's nominee - T2B_!

I sat down with T2B_ and his captain AceAndy to discuss this week's nomination. First up I spoke with the captain of the Dragons:
Bob: Afternoon Andy, welcome back to the couch. We're now well and truly in the second round of the season, you find yourselves in the top 4, the team's rolling along nicely and your rookies are developing well. You guys now have a second rookie receive a Torch nomination to go with the two Gun nominations! How does it feel?
Andy: Feels great and good to see the Dragons rookies getting some well deserved accolades. I am assuming this is an accolade?
Bob: Damnit Andy, we've gone though this already. Yes, it's an accolade. Congrats on getting T2B_ to the Dragons. Where did you find him, and how are they settling in?
Andy: Thanks to Millky95 and the recruiting team at the Vampires who were able to pluck T2B_ from the Carlton board into the Sweet FA. When the expansion bid fell through we were able to offer a number of rookies the opportunity to participate in the Sweet FA and luckily for us T2B_ took up the Dragons offer.
Bob: What has his posting style been like?
Andy: T2B_ really has been highly engaged (we dont use the s word at the Dragons) from the get go with an opening 72 posts in the match thread against the Wonders. A bit of a baptism of fire for our rookies up against SSwans2011 who carried on a bit but the guys were un fazed. T2B_ has been up and about in all our match threads and across 11 matches has been averaging just over 100 posts.
Bob: You started the season with five rookies. One of them has shuffled off this virtual qoil, one of them in MC Bad Genius has been recognised for both on-field and off-field success, another one in Bradesmaen is in the running for the Gun of the season for their qooty performance, now T2B_ has receive his nod for Superior Shitpostingᵀᴹ. That leaves VandoHawk. What the heck's going on with him?
Andy: I am somewhat surprised that VandoHawk didn't win the week 1 Gun of the week, my recollection is that he played the best debut game i have seen in the Sweet FA. How that went unrecognised is astounding. I think i need to ask the Gun of the week panel for a please explain.
Bob: Well we both don't know Guns from sh*t because VandoHawk was nominated in round 10 while I was hammocking.
Andy: [sweating nervously] I knew that.
Bob: Take it up with your Committee rep. Now that we're deep into the season, are there any rookies from other teams that you wish you had gotten your hands on whose posting you enjoy?
Andy: I think I have mentioned it before but some of the Bears rookies i have been quite impressed by and we played the Furies a fortnight ago and Mister M went OK. I think BLUEALLTHRU and RobR have been going well at the Roys and i have enjoyed their work this season.
Very true. Thanks again Andy! Now it's over to the nominee:
Bob: G'day T. Or is it Mr B? Anyway, congratulations on receiving a Torch of the Week nomination. You've been there or thereabouts for much of the season, so must feel good to finally get the monkey off your back. What path did you take to get to the SFA, and where did you first hear about it?
T2B: G'day Bob, and Mr T sounds good to me.
Thank you, thank you. It feels good, although I thought for a while there I was gonna win a nom at the very end by default. I actually had the likes of Wosh and Dingster try and recruit me a couple of years ago on separate occasions. I didn't really 'get' SFA back then (no fault of theirs), as timing just happened my head was elsewhere and caught up in that devil of a thing called Real Life. So I never took them up on it. Then this last off-season along came Dingster again (never gave up on me ) alongside Millky95 and the Vampires, and as we know the rest is history.
Bob: No Bradburys for you. What are your impressions of the place now you've been around a while? Are AceAndy & the Dragons looking after you?
T2B: Besides the Rebecca Black Friday postings that we all love to hate our captain for, yep Ace and the Dragons have been very good to me. serial_thrilla has been a hugely positive force for us rookies too, showing us the ropes and making us feel comfortable.
The SFA itself is pretty much as it was sold. I think some posters maybe take it a little too seriously, but then with personas and such you never know whether that itself is part of their schtick. All in all though, it's a good deal of fun.
Bob: That Rebecca Black thing would be enough to make anybody find a new team, NTTAWWT. How do you prepare for a match thread?
T2B: Usually with copious amounts of angst hoping that it WON'T be posted early on a Monday morning (looking at you Mr. Thrilla). But otherwise I look to who our opponent is and try get a gauge on the posters we'll be coming up against.
Bob: I remember when our paths first crossed earlier in the season. You started off the week with some straight up and down rookie banter, but then by the end of the week most the common tropes were replaced with some more imaginative posting and I pondered about how you'd progress over the course of your rookie season. Now that you've had a few months of exposure to the SFA, how do you think your posting style has evolved from when you made your debut against the Wonders back in August?
T2B: Fair analysis there, I threw myself in with gusto and tended towards the usual safe avenues a rookie would typically go to. But I'd do it again, as I think just getting stuck in and getting my feet wet was important. I knew I could iron out things as I went along.
I think my posting style has evolved to be a bit more subtle and in tune with the vibe of the thread and our opponent. I am my own harshest critic though and honestly I don't think I'm nearly at the posting level I could be. If I get a bit better at time management IRL and actually put in a bit more effort with original content, artworks and media stuff etc I think I've got a bit more to give yet.
Bob: Nice one. What would you like to achieve off field during your SFA career? Have you ventured into the world of media yet?
T2B: Speaking of media, nah I haven't. I have admittedly had a pointer or two from serial_thrilla (our own media mogul) about approaching that stuff but I just haven't delved in yet. Watch this space I guess. Or not. We'll see! I know it's not for everyone and does take a certain amount of creativity. For me that side of things is very mood based.
Bob: One of your teammates in MC Bad Genius was denied a Torch nomination earlier this season due to his food perversions (you heard me champ, coriander's a f*cken menace and should be fired into the Sun). Ironically however your own food perversions, specifically your advocating of the health benefits of the deep fryer, got you over the line in this week's battle. Truly it was reminiscent of one of my culinary idols, Toby Jones. Here he is in all of his glory, in case you haven't come across him before:
T2B: First of all, I commend your take on coriander (AKA THE DEVIL'S HERB). That stuff is evil incarnate. My theory on MC Bad Genius being such a surprise packet up forward is that he must roll in the stuff and hence no one wants to go near him.
Yes, well in reality I try to limit the deep fried foods as much as possible, unlike Mr Jones there, so I live past 40. But you have to admire the sheer amount of things people find to deep fry. I'm pretty sure in Cambodia or somewhere they deep fry tarantulas? Sounds god ****ing awful doesn't it. I mean who looked at a giant ass spider and thought of chucking that in the deep fryer. Suddenly deep fried Mars Bars sound completely sane though.
Bob: What's the strangest thing you've eaten that was deep fried then?
T2B: Eh, a banana. Yeah I know, not terribly unusual or interesting. I'm pretty curious though and would certainly try other things, at least once. Other than the tarantulas. **** that. I'd rather drink a coriander smoothie and that is saying something.
Bob: Have there been any other teams that have stood out for you in the match threads or posters that you like the look of?
T2B: The Roys were a surprisingly pleasant posting unit and it's no secret I'm a fan of the likes of BLUEALLTHRU , RobR and Supersuns is a gun rook too. The Bombers were one of the most interesting teams to face early on as a rookie because on the one hand there was never a moment to be bored, but also a baptism of fire of sorts. But even those guys I realized you can find some common ground and still have a laugh with them. Was a good learning experience of sussing out your opponents.
Of course, I am also a proud member of the Bastyy fan club and Mister M 's ... sub fan club?
Bob: Have you clashed with teams, or have found a nemesis yet?
T2B: Yeah well as above, the Bombers were an interesting unit to clash with. Not sure about a nemesis though. I tag and rag on SSwans2011 a lot but I think that's more one way, the poor bugger. That said it's only my first season. Plenty of time to find one!

You'll find one soon enough mate. Congrats again, here's your miniature novelty trophy.
Time's running out sluggers, better get your shitposting pants on if you want a nomination before the bout's over.

Tarantulas are ok, they were a little gooey in the middle, but weren't too different to calamari.
Are you just trying to deny the truth? I mean it is Friday
Friday, gotta get down on Friday
I hear that the committee only count posts from the match thread that your supposed to be in, so doing the Thick List and doing the other 5 match threads might not be allowed to be considered. Either I change the picture and show weakness by bending to peer pressure, or I keep it up there and damage my chances by losing your vote. I mean, I'm guessing the EKA winner gets 2 votes to give out being the previous winner. Sounds like a serial_thrilla thing to do.Yeah, he's disqualified for that.
There's been worse, you know there's been worse. This song is not the song that can brake you.Classic heart vs head situation going on for me, not gonna lie.

Turns out it was the Rising Star curse all along! You do you mate
You’re barking up the wrong tree asking serial_thrilla if he has multiple votes though. He didn’t win the Rising Star last season, instead he got a cursed frogurt. PurpleGreenRed won the RS, so try hitting him up.

Can't believe I missed a night of talking about Eurovision. Ever since I first watched it in 2006, I've haven't missed a contest since 2009
...I like 'Satellite'... I'm not saying 'We Could Be the Same' or 'Run Away' weren't up there, just saying that it was better than the 2011 (forgettable), 2016 (too political) and 2018 (feminist chicken dancing?) winning entries. Give me my Johnny Logan and Bucks Fizz over Jamala and Netta.
Or if you're a fan of Champagne Statisticsᵀᴹ:FootyGuy13 said:
You weren't alone, from the results the Aussie public and others that got posted, Iceland seems to have been the favourite. Figures that'd happen, Iceland seem to have bad timing when it comes to having good entries. Also, can't go past an entry that uses the Eth letter (Ð ð).
@eth-dog ever thought of becoming ð-dog?
That song has ended up being the most watched video on the Eurovision YouTube channel (checks YouTube) is now 2nd behind Russia's entry this year. Yet, everyone that I've asked has agreed that it's not that good. Cyprus that year was the best. Austria, Germany, Czechia, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Netherlands that year, all better than Israel. I thought she'd be Top 10 because of the gimmick there, not Top 1.
As for 2016, it does its job in bringing awareness to the Tatar Genocide that happened in 1944, the song also feels like a call to arms against a WWII-era Soviet dictator...70 years after the fact. Again, Russia and Australia got robbed (And if I remember correctly, Poland and Belgium weren't bad either that year)
Thank goodness for the 2017 winner to split them up
I'll say, I think I have 4 Hawks down for Bee Votes, gonna have to check the list soon.
And what's this Song Contest you're on about. You making songs or just finding ones of YouTube that fit the theme?
Or melting when you don't win a quiz:FootyGuy13 said:

@harry000 and @Doctor Colossus are the only players with their Points per Minute being over 0.9, which is impressive in itself considering this is over 5 games. With the sheer amount of disposals, tackles and free kicks, the 2 Warriors have shown who really rules the roost...until who look past them.
Below the 2 Warriors, we have a flood of Hawks. The top Hawk being @por_please_ya which shows that, while unforgiving, I guess the sim likes gender equality. Placing just under her is @Agent93 , @SM and @Biggie , with all 4 getting around 0.8 points per minute which makes more the surprising that both teams are pretty much done should they lose one more time.
Now I was told that the Hawks tend to give rookies a boost when it comes to Torch noms. But next week is Round 13, so imagine what I just posted here but WAY more, and if that doesn't work, I'll just rip into the Dragons when we face them since they're such easy bait. Though, imagine what would happen if I had to face the Dragons in Round 13, I'd be going nuts all week there...
Uh... did I mention the Eurovision?FootyGuy13 said:
"Uh no one likes Luigi. Go Kirby since the guy who makes the Smash games makes Kirby"
Well apparently I have another thing to like about the Hawks whilst also missing out on a podium finish because I would've made it 6 if I had trusted people to also pick the Better Mario Character. The Apple one I can live with but I can't forgive myself for not picking my man Luigi.
@Headless @harry000 You never brought these guys up when it came to the SFA. I thought Round 1 with them, that this would be the average match thread but nope, the bar got put up high with these peeps. On the other hand, it's a thing of beauty watching ND go at it with the Wonders and Royals.
Well, I'll know better next time to have better faith in the Hawks being smart.
You really having a melt over Luigi and Family Feud YES and shoosh

Have to concur with 'thrilla, this week was much more enjoyable than Round 1. Not sure if that's because you Wonders posted less or were just being less floggerinos, but either way keep it up guys
