My record of being a triple best and fairest speaks for itself. When you are worthy to shine my qoots, I will let you know.
Better than being an aspiring window licker at the Gumbies.

Mate, Scott West and Matthew Pavlich won a truck load of best and fairests but they never won anything that actually mattered.

Then you have me, tittbong cup winner, comp leader in frees against, zero percent win record in the league and still not allowed to lick windows at the Gumbies. Actually yeah I'm pretty f****** shit.

"WHY SHOULD THIS ROOKIE BE THE TORCH?!"

Each week, Committee members must justify their choices of match thread winners. This not only helps us choosing who wins the Torch, but it also works as reference for all the rookies on what it is expected from them in the match threads.

This is what it was said about each one of the nominees this round:

Kilroy
Out of all of the Bombers rookies, it was Kilroy who stood up against the Hawks.

He raised the bat with 108 posts, but it was quality from all angles, as well as continuing his tradition of hosting the Friday night party. He gave an insight early in the week, recommending the Beastie Boys' Namaste and continued with strong noms from the likes of Biggie and Ice Cube.

He came with a strong reputation from the Saints board, and his eclectic style continued to show us what we were missing with further nods to Borat, 2001: A Space Odyssey and beer. No wonder that Metalcrusher came to the thread to show his appreciation.

We are excited to see what lies ahead for this rookie but this nom for the Bombers v Hawks game is well deserved.

Mister M
Another week, another nom for this quality Furies rookie. It was a low posting thread in general against the Rats, but his 34 posts stood out.

This week was all about the Bastyy Fan Club AGM. Ambicious, Mister M sought to gain the role as Treasurer. After a hardfought battle, the new Treasurer was...Bastyy himself.
nods to Eurovision gained points with this writer

Mister M also was absolutely fearless. He had no issue challenging long-held assumptions, like when he said that GremioPower had a small "Swamprat" and implying the Minions came from South America. This would normally be suicide, but luckily GP is not the one deciding this nom.

With complete disregard for his team (69% TOG), Mister M gets the nom for the Furies v Rats game.

Muddiemoose
What's dirty and sounds like GWS Goose?

Yes, the Torch nominee for this round's Bears v Wonders is none other than the animal Muddiemoose. He clocked up a huge 141 posts in the thread, and demonstrated a number of aspects to his personality which will stand him in good stead when later on the season:

Presence: "I would also recommend that whoever is unfortunate enough to be lined up against me get a covid test after the game"

High expectations: "All you campaigners gone to sleep or something?"

Asking the tough questions: "Petracca still better than dusty?"
Editor's note: negative points for pages of non-qooty content

Loves the Bachelor
Don't even need a quote, we know he does

Oh, and he thinks that Barrybran is a sh*t Captain. Good luck getting that trade to the Gumbies in a few weeks.

omgfridge
omgfridge was as no holds barred in match thread as he in on the field. Only there was no umpires to award a free against in the match thread.

He is ambicious: "Alright, I'll try for 8 frees against. Watch your heads Demons players"

He knows stuff: "[Streetsharks?] Absolutely quality is what it is"

He supported his team for all the right reasons: "Gumbies lets go hard and by that I mean the rest of you... Got a few multies with us winning today so lets not let my gambling habit down either."

He has embraced the qooty spirit: "This is my exact attitude on the qooty field. Just do the bare minimum. Skate through life collecting paychecks."

I expect omgfridge to enhance his reputation for whacking the opposition on and off the field.

Supersuns
Young gun Supersuns, as I hear the crowd calling him, has been recognised for the second round in a row.

This round we heard about his humble beginnings on the Suns board where no one could hear him. Now we can see his talent with a thread-topping 107 posts.

This round he adopted a gif-based approach, which was very well received based on the reacts and also helped the thread along. It's a difficult balance but this rookie has shown the understanding of thread dynamics well in these early stages.

The Roys have a few good rookies and we look forward to see their efforts in the following rounds.

VandoHawk
With back to back nominations, Dragons rookie VandoHawk is beginning to make quite the impression on the competition. With a slightly more relaxed 61 match thread posts in Round 2, he still has the 5th most amount of posts by a rookie for the season.

This week he got to experience harry000 for the first time: "You say that [snow flake vagina heads] like it’s a bad thing, some of my favourite things are in that sentence"

He dealt with the traditional Chipmunk incursion: "I’m still unconvinced you’re not a chipmunk pretending to be human."

Got into a rather unusual conversation with Tonga Bob and T2B_: "Also how is talking about sticking your johnson in marmalade not a twist in the conversation?"

And asked the (right) question that everyone asks the first time they play the Warriors: "I'm certainly not complaining but why Buscemi?"

Things are certainly looking promising for this up-and-comer, but can he secure the Torch this week in his second attempt?

Kilroy for the victory or Wayneos right, sham aware with a sham committee.

Apart from last week, last week they had integrity
When everything is done and the S30 Rising Star is known, I will post all the results.

Crazy talk. My man omgfridge was so dominant that the 50 Shades fans were starting to get excited.
He'll rightfully get the nom.
