I can’t see us winning but yes it would put all that pressure back on and someHis goal is to win the premiership. Not a home and away game. Its literally the club motto.
A fist pump, yes. But keep the focus. This has been a s**t month for this club and it takes more than one lucky win to turn it around.
If we lose to Hawthorn this win means nothing.
Come on. A team wins in Geelong every 40-50 games that are played there, and he’s only allowed a fist pump? His goal is to win the premiership. Not a home and away game. Its literally the club motto.

You get seduced by good wins every year I don't know how you keep buttering up with belief, we are a talented side we'll have good wins we may even go on a streak, but the issues are still there.Come on. A team wins in Geelong every 40-50 games that are played there, and he’s only allowed a fist pump?
You lot can dismiss it as a regulation win, but it’s not. It’s the sort of win that instills belief in the players. Without the Rioli brain fade and double 50, we go into three quarter time 30 points up and probably win by 40+ because Geelong has to roll the dice. Instead, we concede a goal and then lose the next centre clearance and give away a dumb free kick to only be up by 18.
There was nothing “lucky” about it.

One of the jobs of the new coach would be to work out how to play when the clamps are on.Start seeing us go slowly around the boundary line and Hinkleyballing it into Dixon, unless the team we are playing is absolute garbage its game over. And Hinkley has no answer to it. He has no clue how to turn it around mid-game.
Yeah, should be good to see if they start the game clamped down or give us a quarter like most teams.Yes but if they played again in a month, we have Rozee.

The trend of the game was definitely us sliding and losing the game. The second half was s**t but a lot here overrate the likelyhood of us losing.
The game goes another second Rioli puts us two goals up, so the five more minutes doesn't fly.
Geelong had 2.5 qtrs to catch us and couldn't despite our brainfarts in the third qtr.
We should still sack Hinkley, but there's a bit of bedwetting about that result.
I think going man on man for a certain period of time would work too.One of the jobs of the new coach would be to work out how to play when the clamps are on.
Even if we could play to an even score with contested, hard clamped down ball, it would significantly improve us.
Kenny should just put on a grey dust coat and punch tickets at the northern end of Alberton Oval. That is about his limit these days. And while I am at it, give Richardson a broom.Sheesh. Give it up man. If you ain't won a flag in 11 years with the playing list(s) he's had, you ain't winning sh*t.
I like the way you think.I think going man on man for a certain period of time would work too.

There's only 1 relevant stat here - 2 finals wins in 10 years. Until we win more finals, wins like Friday night are soon forgotten.Counterpoint: No it doesn't.
We've had plenty of stirring wins during the Hinkley era. We know what they amount to. How many "best win of Hinkley's career" type headlines have we had now? How many wins that were a sign that we'd finally turned a corner?
You don't win a flag on passion. Passion is a garbage motivator. It's wildly inconsistent and you can't use it week in week out.
How many of those wins were at Kardinia Park, where most sides struggle to win?Counterpoint: No it doesn't.

Sure would be a shame if they headhunted Jordy.Yes, they do ... and more !!!

I'd understand this whole 'it doesn't mean anything' schtick that you lot are trotting out if every other side that plays at Kardinia had a better than 50% win loss record at the ground and the whole issue of beating Geelong on their home deck was just a Port thing. Then it wouldn't be a big deal.
Since 2007:
Port Adelaide played and defeated Geelong at Kardinia in 2007 and made the GF against Geelong.
Hawthorn played and lost to Geelong at the MCG in 2008. They played Geelong in the GF.
St Kilda played and defeated Geelong in 2009 at Etihad. They played Geelong in the GF.
Collingwood played and lost to Geelong at the MCG in their premiership year (2010). St Kilda won against Geelong at the MCG and made the GF.
Collingwood lost to Geelong at the MCG twice in 2011. Geelong went on to win the GF against them by 38 points.
Sydney played, but didn't beat Geelong at Kardinia in their premiership year (2012). Hawthorn played Geelong twice and lost both games at the MCG.
Hawthorn played Geelong twice at the MCG and didn't win either game, but won the PF, in their premiership year (2013). Fremantle played and lost to Geelong at Kardinia but made the GF.
Hawthorn played Geelong twice and won once in the regular season in their premiership year (2014). Sydney only played Geelong at the SCG and won by 110 points but lost the GF to Hawthorn by 63 points.
Hawthorn beat Geelong twice in their threepeat year (2015). West Coast won against Geelong at Subiaco but ended up losing the GF by 46 points to Hawthorn.
The Western Bulldogs played, but didn't beat Geelong at Kardinia in their premiership year (2016). Sydney played and beat Geelong at Kardinia and made the GF.
Richmond played, but didn't beat Geelong at Kardinia in their first AFL premiership year (2017). Adelaide played, but didn't beat Geelong at Kardinia.
West Coast only played Geelong at Optus Stadium and beat them by 15 points in their premiership year (2018). Collingwood lost to Geelong at the MCG.
Richmond played Geelong at the MCG and lost by 67 points in their second AFL premiership year (2019). GWS played and beat Geelong at Kardinia and made the GF.
Richmond played Geelong at Metricon and won by 26 points in their third AFL premiership year (2020). They won the GF against Geelong.
Melbourne played and beat Geelong at Kardinia in their premiership year (2021). The Western Bulldogs played, but didn't beat Geelong at Kardinia.
Sydney only played Geelong at the SCG in the regular season and won by 30 points in Geelong's premiership year (2022). They ended up losing the GF to Geelong by 81 points.
Collingwood beat Geelong twice at the MCG in their premiership year (2023). They never play Geelong at Kardinia.
So in 18 years, 4 of the 30 grand finalists that weren't Geelong have managed to win against Geelong at Kardinia Park, and only 1 of the 30 grand finalist has won against Geelong at Kardinia and won the flag (Melbourne 2021). However, only 10 of the 30 Grand Finalists have actually played Geelong at Kardinia.
None, because Hinkley doesn't win away games against top 4 teams. When was the last one, Hawthorn in 2015?How many of those wins were at Kardinia Park, where most sides struggle to win?
Yes.
He's in his 12th season. A flag is the minimum and he should be laser focused on that goal.
Jump around acting like an idiot the second the final siren blows on grand final day and we're ahead. I'll be 100% on board with it. You don't over-celebrate small steps towards your goal, you celebrate once you've achieved it.
Its rare to win there, yes. Its hard to win there, yes. It was a good win, yes.How many of those wins were at Kardinia Park, where most sides struggle to win?

It was embarrassing to watch and 7 kept panning to the dickhead..He's not going to do that because he knows there's no chance of it happening.
Of course you celebrate a minor round win like it's a grand final when you know it's all you're gonna get.
