Opinion Sack Hinkley 11 - Gentlemen, this is democracy manifest

My biggest takeaway from this if this is true is that senior Port players might be a bit more responsible for these 12 years of failure than many think.

The culture from top to bottom is insipid.

Ken has faced concerted scrutiny twice in his 12 years as Port coach.

On the first occasion the response was a 13-game win streak amidst Ken blubbering.

On the second occasion the response was gritting out a tricky away win amidst Ken blubbering, and then looking like the Globetrotters against LeBrontempelli & Co.

That the wider response to all this is “suck a chubby, Warren!”, “good onya, Kenny!” and “the Hinkley Haters must feel pretty ssschewpid right now!”, speaks volumes as to how deeply unserious this club is, and how little the industry thinks and expects of it.

Port 73 - Brisbane 152 Adelaide Oval.
Crows 86 - Brisbane 97 Gabba.

Strange that the media thinks that Nick's is under pressure, remember they are coming from a very low base, wooden Spooner's not to long ago.

A good indicator of where we are at and they will pass us next year, make no mistake and then the club will start to implode.

Their list is literally what the media says ours is.

Roughly 3 star players atop a pile of sh¡t.

You can’t burn literally 12 years of first round picks trading for and drafting potatoes and expect to be around the mark.

They’ll suck for some time yet but somehow tapdance on our grave twice a year.

Unfortunately you may be correct with the `they will pass us next year' bit, which many on here would have thought was just about impossible only a few seasons ago.

They absolutely have been, the writing has been on the wall since the 2015 pre-season, and the writing was turned in to a monument for all to see in 2016 when Boak led to whinge fest to Koch.

The players should be fair game for this mess and their complicit nature in it.

No matter what happened on the weekend we were going to be the campaigners.

If we boo when we win decisively we are insane Hinkley haters.
If we don't boo we are fickle and the worst supporters in the league.

Just ignore it and move on, this is Hinkley, the opportunity to boo will be close.

At least they didn't sell the farm for a few average players. They have a game plan that can take it to the top sides.

What a completely useless stat. Not sure how sampling how each SA team has gone against Brisbane is a good indicator of where each team is at. And at the end of the day they still lost.

Nicks is under pressure because they've only won 5 games for the year after being talked up as a potential top 4 side in the pre season.

No doubt we haven't performed as well as what we should've but the frothing over the crows this year of all years is actually laughable.

No one is frothing over the Crows, just pointing they have a game plan that can take it to the good sides, oh and beating the average sides like Port.
They may have only won 5 games but were unlucky in a few very close ones like we were lucky to win a few very close ones, we could so easily be down the ladder with them, their percentage is 2% less than ours and they are 15th.

So only pointing out that when you have a coach that has an actual clue about a game style, to beat teams above them they have at least hope of improvement.
We have had a decade to get a winnable style in finals and have failed, yes and even failed against the Crows.

Hinkley has two daughters, both are married. Which one is Todd dating?
I heard it on here a few years ago.

pretty sure what you've written above is a copy and paste from the exact same things everyone was saying about the crows last year.

Losing close ones = Good team that's unlucky. Winning close ones = bad team that gets all the luck. That's literally what you are saying?

And as far as the crows having a the game style and coach to beat teams above them compared to us who can't do that is nonsense too. We've actually beaten 3 out of the 4 teams above us and yet to play Sydney. Crows have only won 5 games so it would appear they are struggling to beat anyone regardless of ladder position. They did have a good win against Carlton, GWS and us, but i'm not sure that backs up your argument.

I want to put it out there that i'm not under any illusions here, i think we will make finals and probably go out in the elimination final and have thought that since the Melbourne loss in round 3. But not a snow flakes chance in hell i would trade places with the crows going forward.

Not sure they were ever in the hunt to beat Brisbane either. Looked like Brisbane had the game under control and then put the cue in the rack, Crows tend to fight to the final siren and have a habit of coming back but still losing.
