Just spoke to someone high up at the Club. Ironically they called me to have a chat which was a surprise given I thought they'd want no part of dissecting tonight's abomination.

I'm not going to use the same words this individual said to me because it definitely wasn't PG rated, but the sentiment shared by the Club's supporter base in this thread is echoed by the high level decision makers.

He's likely 1 week away from being done as our Club's coach.
too ****ing late. The damage done to generational supporting families is catastrophic.

Ken’s got a knack for doing this too, we all remember the “July’s a good time to be ranked number one” comment last year regarding Collingwood. The two of them have this weird arrogance for a couple of hacks who’ve achieved nothing in their time, and maybe it’s because too much of our fanbase believes they did a lot.
For reference they had no part in the one club merger, jumper rebrand or the move to Adelaide Oval, nor the drafting of culture setters like Boak and Trengove.
So true. It’s all just verbal vomit and no action. That’s always how I’ve viewed it.

Koch always seems to express extremely strong opinions publicly but none of it translates to strong performances on the football field when it matters which whether he likes it or not, is all that you will ever be remembered for.

Carr sat back and let the disjointed mess happen at half time when everyone was sparse in the review room. Carr oversaw the midfield that got annihilated tonight.

Please can we ****ing not appoint anyone who has been part of this ****ery.

Just like Schofield was responsible for the midfield abomination in the 2021 prelim and how Voss was responsible for so many midfield atrocities in the years prior.

The game looks the same no matter the assistant coaches or the players involved.

Hopefully your contact recognises that the anointed replacement for Hinkley - Mr Carr - hasn’t been much chop as a midfield coach in big games either.

Did the TV coverage show Ken at all in the 2nd half? I was looking at the big screen and he wouldn't bloody pop up.

I recall him sculling a pepsi in the 2nd quarter.

I come in peace.

Genuine question, but is there any danger of Kochie shutting his mouth before a ball has even been bounced in the finals series? He sets himself and the club up for failure every year.

It’s honestly like the words of reassurance and positivity are to compensate for his actual feelings of fear of what might happen.
He's a clueless douche who treats the supporter base like the mindless idiots who wait for the call from the cashcow.

Not here to troll, legit question. Is Rozee’s captaincy a Hinkley special? I know there’s a lot of talk he has his favourites, and Rozee seemed (and still seems) too young and not ready to be captain. I’d have thought Houston.
No Butters or Horne-Francis would seem more logical but I guess they don't want the optics if Butters decides to leave at free agency and Horne-Francis was too young and only just arrived.

But yeah I suspect he's a Hinkley captains call but at the time was probably the right call although I would have chosen Butters.

Tredrea brought the Drew decision up on radio tonight re 21.

It looked the same when Schofield and Voss were managing the midfield the last decade prior to Carr's arrival.

And it will look the same no matter the midfield coach as long as Hinkley is head coach.

The club line is that captains are player-selected and ratified by the coach - who knows if that's actually the case.

If it's true, the players probably didn't pick Zac because he's such a joker around the club. And yeah, Horney as you say - marginally too young to have that lumped on him immediately.

Koch should be sacked with Ken. What a disgraceful, self indulged fool who has poured water down the Port fans, meanwhile protecting the company man whilst lying to the supporters he claims to serve.

The disconnect at your club is stark and it comes from the top. Kens a joke but the man employing him is even worse. He can stick to offering financial advise, clearly managing a business isn't his strength.

As for Ken, no words. How Mcintee, Esava, Narkle, Frank Evans and Dixon get games in 2024, let alone finals sums up your coach. Standards in the mud.
