I wouldn't be adverse to kicking bags for sandy on 300K for a year, bit of free time to study/do an apprenticeship.. but could probably get a contract somewhere else if he finishes the year well
He has interest elsewhere. That’s been confirmed by Twomey.

I’m only guessing. But it’s probably like any corporate environment type of survey.

  • does your boss make you feel empowered
  • Does your club make you want to come into work each day
  • is your club clear in what success looks like for you

Etc etc.

I’d say one of two things has happened here.

Either they all absolutely love what Ross is doing.

Or

The large turnover we have had leading to the kids we have brought in - Know no different and this is an environment they enjoy.

The ones we have let go have felt somewhat different etc. But we are creating a culture that players want week by week etc.
My old company rolled out the "do you have a best friend at work" question 😂 always led to a laugh

He needs to stay at the dons and eat into their cap
Absolutely! Why give those bastards a helping hand.

In the same way I think helping melb out with oliver is pretty dodgy. The thought that he MIGHT be able to re-discover his best form at least makes that a slightly appealing prospect, but subjecting them/contributing to them putting up with their own self inflicted pain sits well with me.

Let's kick the thread off with some comic extreme salt and ignorance from the Druggies board

‐‐-------

Worst loss of probably the last couple of seasons. Saints flat out stink, their one wood is skinny anaemic runners who hate contact going absolutely hog wild, the only way they win is if you let them do it.

And **** oath did we let them do it.

---------

A team of manlet mids and pedestrian imposters reckon we don't like contact

BWAHAHAHA

"It would seem this post has really popped off with opposition supporters.

Joke is on them, I wanted Scott’s head on a pike long before this shamozzle.

Also NWM, Hill, Bonner and Sinclair, by my count it’s 93 disposals with 13 contested."

Those stats can't be right. He is suggesting that there was a Bomber close enough (and willing) to contest the ball on at least thirteen occasions. They didn't look that interested to me.

I'm also excited to see how good the above players can be when we sort out their anemia with some iron supplements.

Exactly, it is tough, but people need to understand that we face a very different decision to Hawthorn:

Hawthorn's choice is $900k or Battle?

Our choice is 900k AND PICK 6 or Battle?

Now, I really like Battle, but I feel a lot of his value is in what Enright's system (and

It is 900k over 6 years. It does not increase with inflation or with changes to the TPP.

This is his price on the market meaning this is how much he is worth.

In the years 2-6 this will look cheap and Hawthorn will have got a bargain.

He is a ready made player, injury free and will play every game for any team in the AFL if fit.

Bad form making fun of players medical conditions as well... 😃

Not disagreeing, but, if he was on the market, would you be happy to give pick #6 and $900k a year for Battle? Or, do you think we could invest that better to address our midfield deficiencies?

That is ultimately our equation. Hawthorn's is different as they don't forgoe a pick for him.

Definitely a fair comment from that poster as things have moved since a couple of months ago.

Byrnes is definitely worth another contract, possibly traidbait but not delisting by any stretch.

Jones and Membrey were headed for the scrap heap but have come good, whilst Ross and Crough have hit a wall.

Remember earlier in the year when "Lloydo" said we're further from a flag than any club...

I would not be opposed to juicing Cooper Sharman to the gills over the off season and transforming him into Fraser Gehrig mk ii. Incredible game sense and skills, and clearly getting his early career form and mojo back.
You mean juicing him like Thilthorpe. Clearly avoiding ASADA. Blokes gone from twig to the biggest bloke in the AFL in 8 months. Definitely some dodgy shit going on there

20 years old.

3 years younger than Sharman and King.

How sweet was that kick from the boundary.

If we’d taken Hammer with a top 10 pick we’d be pretty bloody excited with what we had on our hands…

Absolutely ridiculous that we picked him up in the manner we did.

Muchly appreciated Jack Silvagni!

Watched him a lot in VFL, he would get it constantly, then stop and be indecisive and slow up the play.
Yesterday there was none of that, disposal was crisp, handball decisive and ran through the midfield that opened the field.

The frustrating thing with Jones are his constant injuries. Could never get back in form. Like Wood at North, would look good, be out for a month then look poor for a month before another two good games and another injury.
A good run of games and they look a different player. Feel of the game and touch at AFL level.is very important.

I've always liked Jones, and thought that his passion and speed are sorely needed in our squad (and he's a Saints fan which helps!)

I had thought up until recently that he's outlived his use if we have to make room for a minimum of 6 new players next year, but if Crouch is retiring it would be a bit reckless to tip out both Ross AND Jones. I'd prefer to keep Jones if his injuries don't continue to mount up. Ross is older, slower and has those infuriating floaty kicks that are guarantee turnovers.

Tim is a qualified carpenter iirc, I think hus apprenticeship days are over.

As good as he's been for us, and he's been very very good, I reckon a trade to a club in the window for his final year/s to get a squad spot free for us is the right move. Plenty of clubs would love that guy kicking goals for them for a season.

We need the room, he could go out in a side competing at the highest level, it's a win win for me.

Exactly. Probably says as much about our players, how easily satisfied they are.

In all seriousness I feel sick watching that - Saints have nearly broken me at times and I reckon some players will never be AFL level - but that’s just not right - give it away if that’s all u have to offer
It was horrible. Putrid lot, the Dons fans

Edit: I have to admit though, it makes me giggle everytime I watch it, and I've watched it plenty.

Strange rollercoaster of different emotions of disgust and joy
