Really? I wasn't going to post but am against Sam's stance. The silent majority isn't exclusively consisting of secret racists.

Yep, this is the same bloke who bailed out Polly Farmer years ago and he was not only his idol, but also an Aboriginal, Newman said of Farmer "he was my great inspiration in my football life — and almost my life — if you look back at where he came from, what he achieved, how he achieved it and why he was the person he was, he had a great love of the game and what he brought to it from his indigenous background was absolutely amazing". This doesn't sound like the words of a racist to me. I think people just love to hate Sam and the hysteria on here is extraordinary. I've already posted this one on another thread, but it rings true yet again "No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth" - Plato.

I wonder what Polly would think of Newman's current views? It's probably just as well that he isn't around to witness them.

I think it’s overdone in some ways (not this event all for it) but it’s way better to be a little over that way than the other way! Do have a bit too make up as well considering they didn’t even get the classification as human beings until recent times, so f…. Newman knew Farmer in the 60s, when Farmer had to stay quiet while copping abuse, lest he lose his career. So to Sam Polly was “one of the good ones”, who kept his mouth shut.

That’s also why Sam hates Goodes, because Goodes “didn’t know his place”.

Pride month is American. Do we have even one day when all shops are closed and we are told to attend gay pride parades and shake the hands of LGBT people and thank them?

So I would like to know when the poll was done on the majority opinion on Welcome to Country at football games? Don’t say the referendum as it’s a different topic.

So we’ve all been to games where the Welcome is performed, the key test for the “silent majority” opinion, when the ceremony is being conducted or finishes how many mutter under their breath “what bullshit” or quietly remark they hate it?
