Re: 2011 SC Defenders Discussion Thread

Thoughts on Broadbent from port, should play 22 games IMHO with primus in control baring injury. Reasonably priced at $350K???

Nah, not worth it. Cotchin is 20k more and more likely to score big. My thoughts are that Swallow would be a better option than Broady. Save that money for elsewhere. I just can't see Broady getting in the 90s

Re: 2011 SC Defenders Discussion Thread

Haven't seen much chat around Brian Lake. Averaged over 100 last season.

Thoughts?

Re: 2011 SC Defenders Discussion Thread

anyone know much about michael hibberd from essendon, i saved his name in my phone mid way through last year cos i heard he would be one to watch in 2011, havent heard much since

google some articles. comes with wraps, even if he looks a bit of a goober.

The one that blew me away when I googled him was Josh Toy (off topic, I know). Played firsts for PEGS when he was in Year 8!!!!

Re: 2011 SC Defenders Discussion Thread

Someone I cannot believe who hasn't been mentioned yet is Andrejs Everitt. Roughly 330k which ruins ur Premium/Rookie strategy but with Sydney's ability to restore careers ( a la McGlynn, R.Shaw, Seaby etc) I am really tempted by his upside.
He showed promise during his time at the Dogs despite limited opportunities however can he fit into the Swans lineup with Kennelly, Malceski and Shaw?

Feedback would be appreciated :)

I think we'll find a role for him. He has a bit of an x factor quality about him so i don't think he'd be limited to the back line. And i think Kennelly will probably be injured by the time you read this reply.

Re: 2011 SC Defenders Discussion Thread

Josh Toy will be an absolute Superstar.

I think that he could be close to a keeper this year, he will most definitely make you some good coin. If he had not been taken as a 17 year old by the Gold Coast it is said that he may have even been taken at 1 ahead of Swallow in the 2010 draft. I believe he only played a few games in the VFL last year due to family reasons but managed 2 best on grounds in the games he played. Strong bodied rebounding defender with beautiful long penetrating kick, must have in your defence this season!!

Re: 2011 SC Defenders Discussion Thread

what does everyone think of N.Krakouer? if not who else around his price, and sam gilbet thumbs up or down?

I am also wrestling with whether to get the Krakfox.

In 2009 he was excellent- made a lot of cash and was able to trade into a premium for very little extra coin.

Last year was terrible. Thoughts were on the GC all year methinks. What do others think? Port fans in particular?

edit: also thinking of downgrading someone else and having Gilbee instead of Krakour due to MPP abilities..

Also Blues fans- Carazzo- yes or no? Loving the fact you can get him down back plus he's MPP, but dont think he'll ever score like he used to a few year ago...

I think Krackuer will have the most upside. Gilbee killed it at the start of the year but started posting some pretty poor scores towards the end when Murphy took over his role.
Krackuer is at a nice low price, and one would expect him to excel at GC, and they will be using him in the role he played at port when he posted his biggest scores.

With the new rules in the Bye's im trying hard not to have 2 players from the same team in the same position EG: Swan & Pendlebury. I have one bench left, and i have a discission between Josh Toy, Michael Coad and seb tape. My other two bench spots I have settled on are Duigan and Gillies. Any thoughts as to who i'd be better off picking? I'm leaning towards Coad, but happy to hear your opinions!

You might want to also look at which 3 teams have their bye at the same time.

Hey all,

Anyone looking at Daniel Connors? I had Deledio down back at first because of MPP but thinking of changing to Connors. Has looked impressive and carrying on from end of last year. ??

Cheers

Hard to know what his role is going to be this year. Obviously isn't first tier midfield and, frankly, is probably behind the likes of Simpson, Scotland etc for the second teir. Also won't be playing across HB with the addition of Laidler and Duigan and Yarran seemingly being moved down there. May be used as a run with player but that doesn't equate to high scores. Add in his iffy kicking and I'd say risk outweighs any ptoential reward.

Never really see Carrazzo as an SC'er.. DT probably a different story.

Hmmm that's what I'm thinking too. Keen to see his physical condition too- he put on a few kgs last year hopefully he's pulled his finger out and working hard. And right about Gilbee- though with Harbrow gone he may get more time rebouding on HBF... Cheers mate

Might steer clear then. Not really the sort of player I normally go for in SC but given how cheap he is and his MPP abilities it's tempting! Thanks for advice:thumbsu:
