Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

I want to get Barlow in this week.

Who should I trade him for, out of J.TrenGrove, B.Moles, M.Banner, B.Howlett and R.Ladson?

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

It's the people who ****ed up and picked the wrong players who will need to do some trading. Guys like Malceski/Barlow etc are the players people will need to get if they don't have them already- its so important to choose pretty much the correct team at the start otherwise you'll have to trade yourself out of the situation and basically screw yourself for later on in the season.

less competition for us :)

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

so is anyone not trading tippet this week?

I'm holding onto him. I know he has the potential to score well so will hold onto him. I dont think he'll score lower this season than he did last weekend.

can't pick a clear one. get rid of ladson and add 140k to your bank. all the kids will rise like a loaf of bread in a hot oven

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

Alright fellas here it goes...

Team currently stands as follows:

Backs: Goddard, Enright, Hodge, Gram, Hunt, Waters, Maguire (Farmer, Nason)

Mids: Ablett, Selwood, Mitchell, Cooney, Martin, Barlow (Bastinac, Kayler-Thompson)

Rucks: Hille, Tippet (Warnock, Bass)

Forwards: Riedwoldt, ROK, Franklin, Stevie J, Robbie Gray, Hall, Ben Warren (Hitchcock, Podsiadly)

$6k in the bank

Am thinking of going Farmer ($159k to Silvagni $83k).
Just not sure of my next move...or if there should be a next move?

Thoughts are trading Tippet/Hille down to Seaby although seems a bit of a kneejerk reaction and too early a call.

Or going Ben Warren ($260k) to Dangerfield ($320k), but how much of an upgrade is this really?

Then again may just stick to the Farmer ---> Silvagni trade and keep $80k for a rainy day....

Suggestions? Any other glaringly obvious potential trades I should be making looking at this team?

Thanks

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

tippett & clark will come good sticking with them at least till rd8-10.

hall and hille on the other hand will not, both playing as defensive/ 2nd options. hall might play well but will not be consistent since teams are double/triple teaming him.

hille just looks shot, ryder has taken his space.

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

personally dooky, id save my trades and wait. that team seems settled with no duds holding you down too much.

The Farmer to Silvagni trade is a little sideways. Unless you want to upgrade some one, is it worth the trade. If you go with you second trade idea it will net you about 100k so you won't need the cash. On the other hand if your wanting to upgrade (as in spend more money than you have on someone) such as Tippett for someone more expensive (the only two I can think of in the rucks are Kruezer or Sandi) then it would be a fine trade.

You would hope that he would score higher than 29 every week seeing as his price is $425,900. :thumbsu:

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

I have traded. :D I know its early in the week, but I can't help myself.

I traded out Hooker for Silvangi. This frees up $240,000. They are scoring similiar, Silvangi will go to the bench. Waters will come off the bench. Silvangi will rise in value and become a good cash cow.

With the spare $240,000. I have upgraded Ziebell to ROK. :thumbsu:

I have burnt two trades, but at least I have an extra premium on the field.
It's my first time playing, and I just had too many mid pricers on the field which has hurt a bit.

I will sit and wait for a few weeks now. :D

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

got 130k in the bank going luke ball to selwood, bartel or cooney to keep some cash in the bank

Very nice move, but wasn't there somebody else in your forward line you could upgrade?

I could upgrade Medders, Hall or Ziebell.

It could have been any of these 3.

I will repeat this process in 4-5 weeks with either Medders or Hall. I wouldn't b surprised if a big haul comes in for one of these guys shortly.

I have to have faith. I just chose these guys over Ziebell in that they are playing in better performing teams.

I don't think you should have traded out Hooker. He has been doing ok and should only get better and will be more consistent than Silvagni long term IMO. He should also get more games than him. I understand the temptation though ROK is a freak.

I understand what your saying.

Essentially, I am replacing Hooker with Waters. Waters is being replaced on the bench by Silvangi. Silvangi hasn't be brought into play, but merely be a cash cow.

And it also allows me to get ROK.:D

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

50k to play with any ideas?

What would people say about Hille to Seaby then possibly a forward that isn't performing (Hall, lol) to maybe Brown or O'Keefe. Or do you think wait til later in the year to get these guys in?

My only concerns in my entire team as well, Hille and Hall basically, Pav hasn't done much either.

Anyone?

In the end am pretty sold on going Farmer --> Silvagni and then Warren --> Dangerfield.

Am not happy with Warren as my F7 and feel alot more comfortable putting Dangerfield in that role...

Although similar in price (Warren 260k and Danger 320k) i dont think this is much of a sideways trade. Warren is averaging mid 40s versus Dangerfields high 90s...and I think Dangerfields scope for improvemet is far bigger than that of Warrens...Danger looks like playing some seriously good footy this year...

Can i get a consensus that these trades are in fact a good idea?

Thanks

It is risky because Waters is injury prone although he has been killing it so far. I can only see Hooker really getting better but i understand where you are coming from too. The upside is that you should make some good $ off Silvangi if he can keep performing close to what he has been. I hope it pays off for ya.

REVDOG:
Hille has been doing my head in too and Seaby has been killing it and is a lot cheaper. After 2 rounds it looks like a good trade but do you think Seaby will be able to keep that average up. Even if he gets 80's-90's i consider it a good trade. Jumping the gun a bit early on Hall i think it has only been 2 games and he was never going to score as well as he did in NAB Cup. If you can afford it Brown and ROK are great players though.

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

pav was an interesting one because i had him until pre season but i jumped off when he looked to be more in the forwardline again..

You cant go wrong with brown imo...otherwise i wouldve considered brennan if he wasnt suspended. even luke mcpharlin averaging 100 over 2 games looks good in a perfoming freo side...

i would personally go browny

just put this trade through now and i really dont regret it. had seaby initially in my team but took him out because i thought big mumford would take points off him...how wrong i was

He has done well, he is the first ruckman and he should score above 70 each week which is what i look for in a ruckman. and this week he should (fingers crossed, knock on wood) put up some big numbers against the tigers

im looking at trading out harvey (roos) and i could get in j. brown...what do you think of that or should i just save it for now ?

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

What do you guys think about me trading out L.Ball for a cheaper mid, such as J.McKenzie from melb. It will free me up some money to upgrade either Lockyer or Tippet to ROK. Are there any other midfields around the 270k or below mark that are worthwhile?

-Seaby in for Hille looks like a great trade at the moment I think. Hille should improve but you cant argue with Seaby's scores.
-It depends on how you view Harvey. Did you get him in to be a keeper because if so there is no real point trading him after one bad game, even if it was horrible. He is a class act and will come out fired up this week I would image. I'm not sure to what extent the impact of his grandmothers death had on him but i think it is a bit of a distraction which could also be another reason for his average game, along with the roos being shit and Jones closing him down. If you see him as a player you were going to make money off he will take a bit longer to get his price back up after the horrible score in week 2.

dan hannebery from sydney...$245, first game this week scored 96
d. conners from richmond...$177, played 2 games average of 82

my preferance is hannebery

hope it helps

Oh man what a waste, terrible trade. You should have gone with Hall or Medders out. Ziebell is a gun, and will be good.

i picked him because i saw a bit of value...he was valued over 600K last season...i dont think itll be a bad move if i keep him because he wont do that every week. but the issue i see is if he scores a few 60pt games in a row and his value plummets then it'll cost me more to upgrade.

i did see him as a keeper though i must admit..
