There is no point in Labor MPs and activists whining about Palmer’s cynicism and it is likely his party will poll far fewer votes come election day. Yet he is nabbing those once considered traditional Labor voters, from lower income, non-tertiary educated voters, often unemployed or underemployed, to lower-end middle management and segments of working-class multicultural communities.
you mean this champion of workers rights?
by the by - have they found clives missing nephew yet?

I have friends who bought a few houses about 8 years ago and they said that the prices hadn't moved much at all and that they were struggling to keep them.

Did they buy as a long term investment?
They should be going well by now - are they 'crying poor', pulling your leg?

Real Estate Institute of WA president Damian Collins said a housing shortage remains in Perth with not much stock and the rental market facing a new 40-year low vacancy rate.

Thats him, a goose that the ALP need to neuter IF they want to win the election.
They would be poorly advised if they saw Palmer as you do, unless they need a new excuse for failure. They are too familiar with running 2nd when they should win.

I don’t get why this has happened. Border openings were known well in advance and the fed government were pressing big time for its occurrence. Christmas and New year gatherings were known in advance also, given they occur every year.

I don’t get why the federal government didn’t take action to ensure equitable access to rapid tests. It’s not like there is a shortage of overseas examples before us?

How is telling profit driven business they will be the sole providers of universally needed tests a good strategy? It’s not as though the Feds were obliged to do the logistics of distribution anyway. Once procured, the tests would have been dumped on the states, ala vaccines, and any issues could be blamed on the states in the usual manner.

Scotty and team have literally created the issue of hoarding, price gouging etc. with no strategy about how the poorest Australians are supposed to source necessary tests alongside feeding themselves and their families. This is happening with the US, UK etc who are distributing tests universally for free.

Good luck calling an election amongst this mess

Good analysis.

it's why the most logical explanation for me is some back room deal based on pleasing donors or someone has the goods on them.

He was very smart and careful with his words "at the “very least”, tests should be made freely available to people who could not afford them."

Smart pollies dont have to attack all the time, let media and others do it as it is then more believable.

How much better off in the polls would the VIC LNP be if they had just shut up and let the media deal with Dans early failures and lock downs rather than attacking everything and being seen (correctly) as anti health advice.

Dim Tim Smith cost them at least 5 points in the polls with his ramblings.

It’s a shame for Dan Andrews that he loaded himself up with booze and tried to drive home.

Palmer is not the ALP’s problem. Morrison isn’t either. Two of the most inept frauds in Australian political history.

The next election is all about Labor not falling over itself (again) and how well Rupert can the polish the turd (again)

One of the great pressers of all time when the media was taking dim tim to the sword about his rants about wanting everyone to resign.

Dim tim's eyes told millions of words

They will, and he will.

I don’t think Labor will - I don’t think they even can. The narrative is all about Morrison and that is not going to change. Labor could actually announce a “death tax” tomorrow and it would barely register.

That is how useless Morrison is

It’s all I can think too, but this time I don’t know if they can spin it.

They have only got one fall guy now which is the ACCC, who no doubt like every regulator, particularly one whose job it is to monitor business compliance, has been stripped to the bone in resources. What a farce

They think it’ll blow over quickly. They want to let it rip. Quick profit. Makes their cronies happy & then they think we’ll all move on.

my guess is those toying with the uap will be a loss to the liberals ..... especially the cashed up tradie in the outer burbs who have favoured the conservatives since howards mid-90s ascendency

for country seats like the hunter .... have no real knowledge of whats happening on the ground there but id suggest labor has likely written that off as a loss
