In the space of five minutes I've been called a conservative RWNJ and a progressive ideologue.

Is there some sort of prize for that?

yep, you can be leader of the opposition.

Or if you can find someone willing to call you a fascist dictator as well, I’d think you’d have to be in the running forVictorian Premier.

Our politicians appear to be tone deaf at times.

Scummo makes an incredible mistake in refusing to make the tests available free of cxharge

Presented with this golden opportunity, Albanese males an equally incredible mistake by failing to clearly and unequivocally state that the ALP believes they should be made available free of charge.

What were they thinking?

They're both thinking about party donors.

Just had a conversation at work about what a ****wit this guy is, how he stuffed up the rat test.

Then reflected and talked about how he went on holidays in dec/jan 2020 and came back and forced handshakes. He's an idiot. A ****wit.

This won't be enough for Labor to win.

It will absolutely be enough for Labor to win. Bad governments generally get voted out, potentially better governments rarely get voted in. And this is a disastrously bad government.

Shorten was home and dry last time until he discussed policy in the weeks leading in. He should have kept his mouth shut.

Morrison will be voted out rather than Albanese being voted in.

If Scott Morrison's Government's glaring incompetence isnt reason to try anyone else, then there's something seriously wrong with our democracy (I know, this is obvious).

It's been one failure after another and not a single success.

The thing which is wrong with our democracy is that anyone who tries to make any progress is attacked by the media on behalf of large companies which will lose out from being taxed appropriately or if people aren't living hand-to-mouth.

So electorally it's suicide to talk too much about progress. One party is dead-set against any progress ever.

It's just the way it is. Blaming Labor for playing the game solves nothing and is, in fact, counter-productive to progress. Last election's ALP platform was perhaps the most progressive I've seen in my lifetime and it lost to Scott bloody Morrison with no plan and a record of failure.

im struggling to identify a single achievement ..... maybe resolving the needles in strawberries threat lol

the preacher mans time in the job does have an air of the baillieu/napthine govt about it ....... a wasted period of govt where nothing was achieved - but then, maybe that was sQomos aim all along

Nothing is going to stop the ALP winning at least minority govt. The only thing fence sitting could and should cost the ALP is they will need to rely on Greens more than ever to get anything through as Greens should take seats off the ALP in both houses.

which might not be a bad thing ..... a bolshie cross bench might force albo's hand to go harder on key legislation reforms .... more than he would have if he had voting control on the floor of the house

A minority government (not a coalition) will be good for this country.

Lets wait and see,
Personally I see a sea of red and lidia thorpe losing her seat in melbourne to Labor.

best case in VIC.

with the right candidates I can see the Greens picking up McMillan and Higgins. (1 ALP,1 Lib seat)
Indies grabbing Goldstein and giving Kooyong/Flinders a shake.

Labor gaining Chisholm, maybe La Trobe and Casey.

Worst case: seats like Dunkley and Corangamite are vulnerable to increasingly sophisticated disinformation campaigns.

Their is an old adage that oppositions don't win elections, its Governments who lose them.

In that regard, the focus on Scumo's incompetence makes for a sensible strategy at the moment.

Announcing policies as we get closer to whenever an election is called (from February onwards) would also be part of the strategy. So being a small target now is what prompted the stupid Trotsky accusation from Freydo frog. Talk about panicking.

Albo has his own problem of electorate recognition. They need to address that as me get closer to election time.

Scumo has incumbency, but his problem is that people now see just what sort of person he really is.

Not really. I would like a Government with strength, charisma, talent and expertise. I absolutely want the current Government out. No fear about that. But that doesn’t prevent me from being a little uninspired by the quality of the opposition. Don’t get me wrong, I want them to win Government but I would like to see something better on offer
It’s early days mate, calm down.
I like the strategy so far.

Ineffective. I don’t have the money that Palmer has and it’s not about winning seats for Palmer but leveraging to influence coalition. It makes sense for him.
However the method of use of disinformation may be an opening to attack (ie they are a terror organisation) without spending money.

I'm not sure what Fatty Palmer's strategy is this time around. He has spent more time attacking the LNP than anyone else!

Maybe he actually thinks he'll win a/some seats in his own right?.

Will his major policy piece be to outlaw Jenny Craig? ;)

I think he is essentially more than a bit mad

Palmer's grift is the same as Pauline's grift.

A lot of Qld Conservative voters are stupid, they'll vote for whoever says the stupidest things. Say stupid things, get AEC money. If you happen to steal some stupid ALP voters across to the conservative side (the original aim), that's still the primary aim, but why not collect some AEC money on the way?

If they happen to get into a position of the balance of power, great for Clive's interests. Pauline Hanson got the Family Court disbanded because her son and his ex-wife are drop-kicks.

palmers involvement could still be a red herring .... a distraction orchestrated by conservatives - offering an electoral option for disaffected lnp voters desperately wanting their protest vote heard and recorded - knowing full well that preferences will return to the lnp fold in the final washup

palmers payoff? ..... favourable bureaucratic decisions (largely hidden from site) to 'assist' his business interests

This won't be enough for Labor to win.

ScoMo is hoping like hell the numbers will go down but he has to call an election sometime in the next 3 months...problem he faces now is RAT testing and exploding case numbers and possible high hospitalisation rates.

Electorate is looking to knee cap someone and he has to go first.
