This is Morrison handling a global pandemic whilst caring for nothing other than his donors and his re-election.

"Vaccination is not a race" - because he backed the Astra Zeneca horse in a shady deal which we will probably find out the details of in a decade (donor concerns).

"Australian's need their way of life back without the hand of government", as if he's some libertarian - because he's leaking votes to UAP (re-election concerns).

"We need to get on with life" - because business needs people spending money (donor concerns).

"We've changed the rules on close contacts" - based on people having to wait in queues to get tested and complaining about it, so we'll just change the definition to reduce the queues (re-election concerns).

"RATs won't be free, the corporate sector needs certainty" - Gerry Harvey and Chemist Warehouse will get angry if they can't mark them up for profit (donor concerns)

"Some people will get money to buy RATs" - people will stop complaining (re-election concerns) but donors still get their money (donor concerns).

Our political leaders operate under the framework of pleasing donors and re-election. The rest is incidental.

James Benson, Assistant Secretary Federal Dept of Health just now:

"The intervention by Mr Morrison to deliver effectively free rapid antigen tests to the less well-off will seek to end debate over Covid testing, which is a state and territory responsibility."

In direct conflict with the briefing his own Dept sent out just 3 days ago (as quoted in my earlier post).

It's borderline racketeering. They are siphoning our tax dollars off to private enterprise and they aren't even trying to hide it anymore.

These pricks are criminals.

The federal government is legalised money laundering under the guise of democracy.

This is clearly hurting the Government now and I expect a backslide change very soon:

'More affordable'. I've got an idea - how does 'free' sound?

Or is the government going to send Barnaby out on a national tour again to report back on solutions?

The plan Morrison is taking to National Cabinet is for the elderly, and the most at risk members of our community to have to apply for free tests to see if they are positive of a disease that could see them end up in hospital or worse if not treated quickly. flipping madness.

Still disappointed with the failure of the Opposition to make a stand. It really was a no-brainer.

I like how you can recognise that there is a problem for non-conservatives with respect to recent historical voting patterns, but you also cracked the sads because people dare hold the leader who this thread predominantly desperately wants to see turn the tide to a reasonable standard of leadership.

By the way, conservative voters are largely stupid, stupid people, but what do you call people like you who loses to those stupid voters time and time again?
Disagree they’re stupid. The vast majority are uninformed selfish voters. They see a slogan or policy announcement and think they’ll get big bucks come election and when they don’t or realise they’re not they swallow the it must be Laybah line. Rinse & repeat and then piss n moan how immigrants and dole bludgers have ruined they’re kids lives. Then pass this thought process onto their kids.

Is the nonsense as trivial as your whinging in the Dan Andrews thread?
Objectively more trivial. Have I whinged about what Dan had for dinner?

I agree that Scummo is a shit PM. Picking on his dinner pics or the fact he took the first vaccine is beyond petty, especially when you consider there are plenty of genuine issues to can him over.

More than happy for others to have higher standards (and TBH so should I), but not being Scott Morrison is enough for to me to vote ALP regardless of anything Albanese says or does in that next few months.

Not that my vote will matter that much, Bandt pretty much has a mortgage on my seat.
Pretty much the point I’m at. Another person will get my vote with all preferences directed away from the LNP.

So, they're stupid then?

I mean, if you get promised a heap of stuff at every election, don't receive it and then vote for them again I think that makes you pretty dumb.

He’s a media creation. It’s fair game.

Albo got the headlines/meta messaging he needed From 7:30 interview.

make The discussion about Morrison. Keep him under pressure and his mistakes will continue to compound…

do not give him something to attack.
That’s what all the deflectors are doing in this thread. Trying to deflect all the attention away from Morrison with the line “ but Albonese didn’t say yes quick enough” it’s laughable

Is there a legal route to fix the price and limit the per person supply? $10 (for example) per test ain't ideal but better than the current debacle.

Legal route? There is no need to make this complicated.

It's the way bulk billing for pathology tests works in this country for every other test I can think of. Including PCR.

And 90% of pathology tests are bulk billed - with zero financial cost on the person getting tested.

best case in VIC.

with the right candidates I can see the Greens picking up McMillan and Higgins. (1 ALP,1 Lib seat)
Indies grabbing Goldstein and giving Kooyong/Flinders a shake.

Labor gaining Chisholm, maybe La Trobe and Casey.

Worst case: seats like Dunkley and Corangamite are vulnerable to increasingly sophisticated disinformation campaigns.
Corangamite will be safe labour after this election. The growth down there is more Labour friendly even the dumbest and most incompetent state minister in Victoria's history Lisa Neville (who cant be bothered visiting her electorate beyond a five minute photop let alone live there) is getting swings to her down there.

Someone with a SMSF for example that they've worked for their whole lives voting for the Liberals last election is hardly stupid..

The uninformed thing is the important part. Msm perpetuate it’s laybah fault it didn’t get through the senate how we want. Voter sees it on the news & believes it. You do realise there’s a hell of a lot of voters that have no idea how bias the media is when it comes to politics. To the older generations it’s just the news. Some of em only just discovered Facebook in the last half a decade

ScoMo is hoping like hell the numbers will go down but he has to call an election sometime in the next 3 months...problem he faces now is RAT testing and exploding case numbers and possible high hospitalisation rates.

Electorate is looking to knee cap someone and he has to go first.
The election is in approximately 4 months. He needs a miracle.

Shocking if true. Do you have evidence for that claim?

Originally i read it in an abc article

Having just googled it again, i found it had been fact checked here :

And the specific claim has not been refuted but also could not be supported either by the data, ive amended my post accordingly.

IMPORTANTLY: having found my post was erroneous in its claims i will never again claim it.

Unlike some of the posters here i have a love for the search for truth - whether it supports my position or not.
