To start the formalities off tonight, I have invited the SFA Admin (in waiting) Elton Johns Wig to say a few words.



Greetings everyone, and welcome to tonight's festivities, where we honour the rookie class for Season 36.

This award has been going since I was the inaugural winner in S23, so it gives me great pleasure to say a few words tonight. I also won the EKA, obviously the first to win both, becoming one of 5 dual winners of the 2 rookie awards. Will this happen again this season? Tonight, the first half of the equation will be settled.

Rookies are the lifeblood of the league. We need constant regeneration to invigorate and continue to grow the game. Overall, clubs across the league do a great job of bringing in new talent, thanks to all for your ongoing efforts. Special thanks also go to those who organise tours and the like to help spark interest in other parts of the board.

Each season, a fresh young crop arrives with stars in their eyes and in most cases, absolutely no idea what is going on. This season was no different. Although a few rookies stood out as having a worldliness and an understanding not often seen in first seasons.

I should stop talking, because tonight we celebrate the S36 rookie class and everything they have added to the Sweet FA so far. May they continue to do so. Have a great night.​

Thank you Elton Johns Wig and as you mentioned this award is not possible without the wider SFA community so I wish to acknowledge a few of those now.

• Kilroy for taking ownership of initial coordination of Membling (S35 Rising Star) and MayTheNorthBeWithU (S35 Runner-Up).
• Elton Johns Wig for revealing to me his plans to legitimise the Rising Star for Season 37 via formation of the Sweet Committee of Above Average Rookies Furthering the Associations Continued Excellence (SCAARFACE) made up of the previous seasons Rising Stars and Kilroy as the Caretaker Coach
• Falconista for some shoops, and Hate for some SFA+ data
• My workplace for allowing me the freedom to sneakily dedicate about 5 full days of effort to compile everything needed to ensure the success of this evening
• Each of the team LGs for their responses and feedback to my questions or requests
• And finally, RonnieRaven for being the only S35 rookie to stand up when it mattered
