As Chancellor of Spotswood I extend a big welcome to the Coney Island warriors. As Bronze Members you will be subject to full security screening and access to Spotswood Oval for Qooty purposes only. On entry to Spotswood Campus all Warriors qooty players will be screened by metal detectors for the possession of guns, weapons and dangerous objects. On exit of Spotswood Campus all Warriors qooty players will be screened by metal detectors and OOB Security will inspect the contents of any brief case, knapsack, purse or parcel that may contain stolen goods. The Warriors are to be escorted and removed immediately at the completion of the game.

Cork along with Tipperary are the only counties to do the senior hurling/gaelic footy all Ireland double though.Tipp did it in 1895 and 1900 and Cork did it in 1890 and 1990.

A county winning both titles in the one year is rare enough, with Cork being the only county to do it in the last one hundred or so years. Cork's Teddy McCarthy being the only man to win all Ireland medals in the same year in hurling and gaelic footy in 1990.

In those days the championships were instant knockout one defeat and you were out! Nowadays we have the backdoor format with all these extra games.

All this has made the dual player who plays both the hurling and gaelic footy an extinct species sadly.
