Talks still underway with Renown FC in Rhilpisa as to why Renown Park was not available this week for the usual lease for our Roys v Swampies Sweet FA match.
Apparently Renown Park is currently subject to ground improvement upgrades, rendering it unusable for events at this present time. The local council nor the local club have not offered further information, other than that the ground is unavailable this weekend, but should be back in the circuit by the following the season.
Local rural league games have been rescheduled to the Canalands ground.
Vox pop chatter in the township of Rhilpisa do raise the topic of a forthcoming cricket venture in conjunction with the ground works, however this is merely the word on the street. Not unlike that day a pedestrian fell crossing the road and dropped a scrabble set.
Most Roys home games v the Sin City FFC have been held at Renown Park in recent times, but it's not been a stipulated necessity. The BJO potentially suffers from a lack of opportunity to host the Swamprats due to this regular venue rotation, and in the main most feedback hs been positive re a return to Brunswick Street on this occasions, and a more staggered approach to shared venue in future meetings.
