Season already over for 3 clubs

Unfortunately it is bordering on a very unhealthy obsession for a majority of them. I think it may have something to do with the chip on their shoulder about how we gave their golden boy, Matthew Knights the arse from the top job last year and appointed a coaching team with some sort of idea. Knights brought the losing culture of his 15 year Richmond playing career over to Essendon and the cancer soon spread, thankfully we are trying our hardest currently to eradicate that with a coaching team who have all experienced ultimate success at Essendon or elsewhere.

Despite their rare victories over recent decades you can almost bet your last dollar they will be celebrating Essendon's next loss more than their next victory (whenever that might be)...

Is this a serious post?

Richmond fans largely don't care about Essendon, and vice versa.

Essendon fans starting threads like this?

Let's wait five weeks when they are 1-4 and the otehrs have overtaken them

And even in the unlikely event of that happening, still a massive chance we will still be ahead of North :thumbsu:

Fancy being overrun and losing to the wooden spooners who barely had enough fit players to finish the game. Laughable. But keep discussing Essendon though if it makes you feel any better...

Seems people are obsessed with Essendon. Look for any excuse to bring them up. Can't blame them as we are the biggest thing in the league right now.

Don't fight it, give the people what they want. Essendon.

ESSENDON

Oh man, Anzac day is going to be a blast :D

How do you define "over" ?

We were never realistically expecting to play finals this year. It's about getting games into the kids, working on various game plans and building a solid base for the future.

A Round 1 loss certainly doesn't change our goals for this year. If anything our 3rd quarter effort was impressive and a good sign for us. 12 months ao we were the next Fitzroy.

It's this year that we will look to see who provides goal kicking support for Jack, who can anchor down our defence and who will step up to become our 2nd rotation midfielders.

Season isn't over for us by a long shot.

Keep guessing Cap'n Obvious, and sooner or later you'll hit on it. Maybe it's just that no-one from the Richmond board is expecting us to be successful this year. In our most fanciful dreams we can see our club pushing up towards the 8. We certainly don't need threads like this one or any other to tell us that it's going to be a long season. Remarkably through our sustained period of being ordinary we still pay our money and go to games, unlike some other clubs... now go and troll someone else!

I think we'll still play each week though...If it's all right with you.

Gold. Am at the library at uni and my lol just disturbed all the Asian accounting students.

And I agree wholeheartedly with anyone that has pointed out this thread is a bit rich coming from an Essendon supporter.

While Lecca is a huge loss our forward line is stronger than it was last year.

I expect us to win around 5-8 games this year.

Seasons are over for.

Saints
Geelong
Freo

They will not place as high as they did last year.

As the big Q-stick would say "Not anymore!" Ridiculous claim, but I can see from the rest of your post you were (poorly) trolling anyway.

I think Calling Richmond's season over is premature, but the other two have valid basis. Many of the promising up and comers from last year for West Coast and Brisbane are out with injury, as well as many of the established stars. Those two wins came at massive costs for their teams.

Richmond were more like North. Lost, but you saw enough promise to think that they will be there abouts for the rest of the year once they get those last few pieces of the puzzle back.

I might be wrong, but that's what I see.

One sunny day does not make a summer.
Bombers still have a long way to go

Typical BF mentality. Doesn't get any clearer...

An Essendon supporter can't start any threads because their team won on the weekend? Plus you all have to take pot shots at the OP's team even though they have nothing to do with this thread... Ohh yes, big bad Essendon started this thread... Thats basically all its about isn't it?

Come on BF, pull your socks up.

If they win a flag soon, they will officially be the worst supporters in the league.

All jumped off last year.

Now back on the Indian train this year.

All jumped off last year? Higher attendences than Richmond and 44k in memberships (also higher than the Tiges).

Richmond already have the worst supporters in the league. All they do is go on about how loyal they are and how great the club would become if they ever became any good ont he field. We've been hearing the same old regurgitated crap for 30 years.

And all they do on Bigfooty is talk up how great their up and coming list is and how they are the big improving side of the comp. They ridicule other clubs lists like they are the shit. They constantly go on about how Essendon has the worst list in the comp. They constantly go on about how Hardwick is such an amazing coach and Essendon stuffed up by missing out on him.

You guys would wanna hope Hird is a flop or that you can somehow become a half decent team because if not, it is going to get very bad for you. :thumbsu:

Pretty sure he bats for the other team, so that is ruled out.

Take the time to read and you will notice I am lobbying for him to play forward where he can actually influence games rather than chase stats.

That is a massive call, you better have proof to back that up otherwise that is a ridiculous claim to be making.

You do realize this isn't the Bay Pav?

Don't agree with Richmond or West Coast assessments, yet.

We had a competitive win, and Lecras wasn't the gamebreaker. Not sure how you can say season's over.

What about Port, not to mention we haven't seen Gold Coast yet.

You must be living on another planet. Where's all the evidence of Tigers fans talking up the list? Anyone who had ever been on our board would know that's utter bullshit. The only stuff I've seen in the last 18 months on the main board has been from trolls with alters like SunnyTEE and Pav.

The flooding of the main board by exuberant Bummer trolls continues unabated. Yeah we all hope that Hirdy fails, but only because you guys are so bloody annoying.

No one's season is over. Of the suspected bottom 8 teams, I think Richmond have the least to be concerned about. Judd was Judd and willed CArlton over the line.

Those with concerns;

Brisbane - not expected to be finalist and lost their best player and spiritual leader long term.

West Coast - despite a good win, not expected to be finalist and then lost their best player and goal kicker.

Port - showed that the same problems of leaking huge runs of goals under Williams still exist under Primus.

But none of them were tipped as finalists, so it's hardly a 'season over' thing.

Pretty much.
Who knows how Le Cras will affect West Coast.

Brisbane losing Brown is a real kick in the groin. They also lost Staker for the year and probably Beams for a while with a hip injury...

Big losses...But they played really well.

Richmond is hard to tell yet. They look undersized in KP spots, but I think their mids are better than they showed. Foley had gastro apparently. Martin was unusually quiet.
That reminded me of this

ess has lost all sense of credibility off field by lying and cheating the public in order to recruit hird and thompson. This year, they will lose all sense of onfield credibility by having their tactic taken apart and sent packing to the cellars where they belong.

Big call this thread, saying the teams who finished 13th, 15th and 16th will struggle

But nah, you make some fair points. I actually think the SA clubs will surprise this year.
