We really can do this. Understand Collingwood pressure but feel like we learnt more about them than they did about us last time. Just hope we can carry it through..

I actually was pleasantly surprised by Bucks and his game analysis when I heard it earlier in the year. Genuinely interested in what he says and how well he articulates his point of view.
I always thought he was a bit of a meat-head but I was pretty wrong about that. I'd love to get him to Freo in some capacity.

Barrett is an ijut.I live in Melbourne and can confirm we are about as off broadway as any team in the AFL. The vast majority of the media over here barely watch us ever.
Bucks is a pleasantly surprising exception. Fox footy are a little different as they are forced to watch us on Saturday lunchtimes and Sunday evenings. People like Dwayne Russell, Jason Dunstall and David king (despite his negative view of freo) actually have to watch us.
But the primary broadcaster - channel 7?
I doubt BT could name 3 freo players before the season started. I’m not exaggerating there.
Daisy Pearce and Luke hodge were “surprised” one day when they saw Adam Cerra play for Carlton and realised he was actually decent. Would bet any money they never watched more than one of his 77 odd games for freo in full.
Caroline wilson was calling him Adam “Serra” in July last year when it emerged that Richmond might be in the running for him
Was listening to billy Brownless on radio one day ridiculing Sam Switkowskis name.he’s an absolute oaf.
Then the Melbourne journos like Ralph, Barrett, Tom Morris, maclure, whateley, etc.
they don’t watch Fremantle play regular season games. It’s as clear as anything listening to them talk. Morris declared on the first podcast this year before he was sacked - “I’ll be absolutely amazed if freo finish higher than 12th”
There is no way he could have made that statement if he watched us play at all last year. No way.
It’s frustrating at times but it means you can get great value on freo at the bookies when we are underpriced.
Had a huge argument with him years ago about a disparaging article he wrote.
He knows nothing about football here in WA.
I only go on what I hear on the Tele.

Look all long time posters know I'm a massive Ross stan but I love how he, despite being a massive sociopath, has come out of everything that has happened in the last 11 years as an actual Freo fan. Lordo is all like I give them no chance and Rosco is oh Andy have my babies

What a f**king tosser. He's acting like Ross just tipped North to win the flag next year. Collingwood finished half a game ahead of us with a % that ranks them 10th in the league ffs.
Still, attitudes like that will make it all the sweeter if we do get up I guess.

Melbourne based Docker here. I have literally overheard Pies fans chatting on the phone in the supermarket planning their trips to the SCG for the prelim.
A big chunk of them think this is a dead rubber/walk in the park. 5 out of6 pundits have called this for the Pies based on nothing more than our R10 loss.
I sincerely hope the Pies squad underestimate us too, it'll be their undoing.
A hostile 80K at the G is no easy task. but we have the cattle and the game plan. it's doable.

McClure’s expression was definitely over the top. I’m assuming he will be surprised when he watches his first Freo game since 2020 this weekend.
For what it’s worth, over on Fox David King thinks Freo will win. I think Montagna drew the short straw as he was making a case for Collingwood but actually just highlighted their inefficient entries. Reckons fixing that up is how they win. Good luck fixing that against our back seven.
