I think we match up pretty well against the Hawks. Their talls aren't as good as ours (Roughead > McEvoy, T Boyd > Fitzpatrick etc.). We love contested footy, they prefer the uncontested stuff.

Morris to contain Cyril. JJ to Smith. Think we will win it out the middle.

Need to smash em on the inside then completely shut down their run off half back and limit their outlets.

It would have to be one of the most committed defensive performances ever if we are to roll them.

Anyways, let's finally get em for 61 and 85, time to break their hoodoo on us and start a dynasty of our own.

Go Dogs

This is going to be the ultimate test of how far we have come as a team. Its also the ultimate test of Alistair Clarkson theory that contested is not the be all and end all of modern football. It'll be interesting to see if the Hawks can find a way to breach our swarming press and get the ball out the back to their lethal small/medium forwards.

7 ****ing days. I cannot wait.

Sicily back next week for Howe. Did Hawks get any injuries?

If they weren't so protected Hodge will get banned for a solid punch to the ribs & apparently Burgoyne did something of note, not sure what though

Anyone else have a weird feeling in their stomach? :huh:The mix of general nerves, optimism and hatred all at the same time... I feel this side is something special and has a trick up their sleeve and is something different to the 08-10 & 97-98 sides but then I also remember those sides and how they went out... Curses are made to be broken though as per last night and Hawthorns luck might just be running out. Regardless Hawthorn have everything to lose

You're thinking of Lewis, he punched Lonergan I think. None get suspended.

I only seen the second half, it was 3/4 time & im sure it was Hodge that hit Selwood with a clenched fist in the ribs. Half decent wind up, if they wanted to get rid of tummy taps this looked just as bad. Not expecting or baying for blood but the AFL made a stand earlier in the year

Think we'll play Morris tall again and keep the team unchanged except for Jong.

Hamling looks like a perfect Gunston match up, Morris to Shoey, back our smalls in to contain their smalls who are more dangerous than their talls.

Stevens in for Jong seems the logical option, but do we want someone with better skills? Hrovat, McLean or Webb, maybe?
