Been a known fact that in the past Cheltenham Panthers have had St Bedes or Beaumaris aligned coaches leading junior teams & therefore steering them away from the Rosellas
Chelt have done well with Moran & McComb, Mentone Grammar lads last year but chose to play with Chelt and both are quality footballers although be lucky not to lose them to VFL next year.

Old Mentonians have Haig, Brazionis, Harris etc from Chelt Juniors, Gorman who is a star player from Beaumaris so up to them to get U19s and Reserves up and running
Will be interesting if Beauy go up to Premier if the lure for many of their talented juniors to return might come.

Fair question as like most Clubs their Juniors are playing in many different Leagues but heard after the St Bedes game that Old Haileybury have a stack of VFL listed players coming back for Finals so Beau currently a clear 2nd face a tough Prelim Final to see who goes up with Uni Blacks

3rd hand information but I'm told that Bentleigh definitely asked the question
Have also heard this through the grapevine, would be a massive coup.

Dingley V St kilda shaping up to be a huge game, though I heard Fev got red carded?
Might even be a good thing because hard to say if he actually improves the team..

Only those capable of playing A grade ammos. It is a vastly superior comp to SFL Div. 1 and anyone who thinks otherwise has not seen a Premier VAFA game recently.

Beauy generally do reasonably well with retention of kids coming from the juniors and most seasons field 2 x U19 teams. Players find their level and some drift off to lesser comps.

Was more talking about from VFL clubs or NAB, Beauy would have more juniors playing state league footy than just about any club in Melbourne, they really should be doing better as a club given the stronghold they have on the junior kids in the area.

Agreed and if they could funnel the majority of juniors into their seniors they would be an even stronger force as a club. They seem to get multiple players drafted from their ranks into the AFL every year and have an extraordinary strike rate for a junior club. However like many other district based VAFA clubs they lose juniors to school based clubs, both through the lure of playing a higher level and through wanting to play with school mates. Certainly not a unique problem. They have had a few years in the top division but never really threatened.

Beaumaris has won premierships in C and B Grade, spent time in A Grade, had Windhager, Owens and Luke Cleary play AFL just this year so haven’t gone too bad, big Junior Clubs lose players to other Clubs/Leagues after U 19s especially without a direct School connection, St Bedes have 3 U19s this year but no guarantee they’ll return to A Grade anytime soon

Cranny dominate first half and should have put the game to bed but to St Paul’s credit they lifted and possibly should have won. Cranny seemed to will themselves across the line today.
Lack of Pace on the bigger Moorabbin ground will hurt Cranny going forward.
