It’s not that they should be in eastern

It’s that Berwick, Beacy, Narre and Noble Park should be in Southern.
Yes that’s true but what happens to Bentleigh,St.Kilda City,St.Paul’s and Mordialloc,Port Colts they wouldn’t be in Div 1 or winning flags in Div 1.
If anything MPFL and Eastern could pick up more Southern teams in years to come.

St Kilda City and Port have shown they have no problem recruiting to compete.

The others are well run clubs and there are now equalisation measures in local footy, provided they’re enforced, well run clubs will rise to the challenge and compete. It’s the same in Eastern, 3 or 4 clubs shared the flags for 30+ years, it is now much more competitive. Norwood won a flag, South Croydon won a flag, Rowville and Doncaster East are up there this year.

It would take a period but Southern would be very high quality and competitive if it had the clubs that it should have such as Noble, Berwick, Beacy, Narre etc up against Cranbourne and the traditionally strong southern clubs. Not to mention the MPNFL clubs north of Frankston.

Big game next week Cranny V St Pauls. Will open up the top 4 spots if Doggies can win at McKinnon Oval. We know Cheltenham can beat them and maybe STKC too. thoughts ???
Oh hear that Bentleigh might have a few surprises for Malvern next Saturday. WTS.
Watts did the trick for Demons again.;)

Looks like it could be a bit tighter than we thought, even Dingley moving into mix. From all reports yesterdays game at St Paul's was a cracker, close all day, Either side could have won. Depth could end up been this difference at years end. I see that Cathcart and Big Spence are back at the kennel this week.
See that Fev got a few for Port, but not enuff to roll the Dingoes.

Like a Seaford and a Chelsea ha then the St.Kilda City’s and Port Colts might be Div 2 then if clubs come from the MPFL and Eastern come in the the Southern to make it stronger.

It's been a wild ride and one that has been very enjoyable. Off to the Div 2 discussion as East Malvern's last chance at survival was snuffed out at home on the weekend.

While it looks increasingly unlikely, I just hope the coaching staff and players give it everything to try and win one game before seasons end. Can't recall the last winless season for any club in Div 1, especially one as proud as East Malvern.

If you need me I'll be looking up the Melway ground references and mapping out my travels for next season.

Dogs vs Cranny was a great game of football to watch. Tought, hard fought and close all day. St Pauls up 15 points with 5 - 6 minutes left and to be honest I thought that would have been it but to Cranbourne's credit they didn't give in and snatched it in the last 26 seconds.

Also big credit to their supporters who not only cleaned us out of food and alcohol but also stuck around in great numbers afterwards.

Do we think the top 5 is set? Mordi or Springy would need to get on a roll with poor percentages. Springy look the most capable at their best, a good win last week against City.

So what's gone wrong for Port Melb this year? A seemingly strong list yet they only have 3 wins this year? It's not as though they are getting blown out of the water by teams but they just keep losing while being competitive

Makes the comp seem like a circus. The comp is more than happy to roll out a celebrity every second week which has little to no impact on the overall improvement of the competition as a whole.

Just about sums up the SFL atm.

Just reading the other day how he enjoyed his hitout at Port and would probably play a few more games for them.

Next day he's playing for the mob down the road

Nathan Freeman to the 'Goes! Wow!

Wow St Kilda! Edwards 5 and fev 4.
Top 5 almost looks to be set in stone, can’t see anyone taking 5th from Dingley. East Malvern are cooked, you’d hope they’d somehow manage at least 1 win for the year but that’s looking more unlikely each week. Bentleigh done by a rampaging Chelt. 2 clubs in 2 different stages. Heard Bentleigh had 10 players 20 or under while Chelt looked the goods. Sam Hayes has to be the best defender in the comp too.
