Big miss for all the clubs that passed on him. Not just the crows.

For every speculative "horrific junior injury" pick that works out like burton there is an Elliot Kavanagh pick that doesn't. It's the risk you take though with those sorts of players.

Kudos to hawthorn, their risk got them an absolute gem.

Burton is a great prospect. But I don't know why the crows are the only ones taking the heat. Plenty of teams passed on burton.

The same way plenty of teams passed on Fyfe in his draft year, or that Joel Selwood fell to 7 in his.

Doedee only needs to become a good player to justify the selection. It shouldn't be in contrast to anyone else. If he contributes positively to the club over the course of his career then it's a good pick.

He is only a 2nd year player for goodness sake

His old man was a 200 plus sanfl gamer had ties with the crows was never ever going home obviously and was touted as a top 5 pick even at contracts time he would probably cost us less to retain

We picked lever after an ACL and it is working well although their is speculation he may go back to Vic and if he doesn't we are probably paying for him a bit more
