Just because it's from a prolific soundtrack composer doesnt make it entertaining. Slow, boring and meaningless without the footage it was written for.

Footage? Its about listening

I listened and, as I said, thought it was slow, boring, and meaningless without any reference to what it was written for.

You think Zimmer composed that without watching the film?

Hah just looking for an ears painted on gif and saw this - pretty cool :)
As you say, we have a wide range of tastes in here. Only consensus seems to be that all mine are crap! :drunk: :p

Darcy Moore is my fave pie player btw.

O think its one of his best

I agree with you in terms of not having a reference. I liked the track but have only seen the film once. Without context makes it harder to listen to unless you really know the film, it's probably why I seldom vote for soundtrack/scores in the SC.

Its a music comp. I could hsve included a sappy emotional video clip but I hate when people do that to buy votes. Not mentioning names.
How does it need context.

Lol jokes on whoever does that because most people probably don't even watch the videos. I certainly don't.

And idk, it's because it is a musical piece inspired by the film. You can tell when it's a score, there's something different about it. I guess it's more orchestral.

As I said, I liked it, but it was a strong list for me.

5 - chvrches
4 - Lindsay Stirling - elements
3- dear seattle - the meadows
2 -crystalyne - punks dont dance
1- zac Brown band

BM - strangers- rainer veil

Listening to these mostly on a Friday arvo as work is wrapping up leads to a certain type of music being favoured.

The vocals on Crypta is similar to nails on a blackboard, just makes me feel uncomfortable the whole way through.

A good music soundtrack is really only one half of the art. There are movies with great songs which are not necessarily great soundtracks. Zimmer's soundtracks are nice to listen to, but aren't really meant to be great by themselves.

Sometimes a song in a film is perfectly placed:

Hans Zimmer won an Oscar for best original score for Dunkirk, it may have worked well with the film but it's not something I would listen to on it's own.

I really like the Soundtrack from The Power of one by Hans Zimmer

Not only is Caddyshack a great comedy film, it has a great soundtrack too.
