The great thing about SFL it is getting better and is a better standard this year than last. Over the last 4-5 years the comp has got more even than it was with most club's getting better with only a few that have slipped
To be a top team now you need to have 25+ quality players as no team has all there players available to them every week (So let's hear what you all think about your club and others)

St PaulsPaul Howroyd haven't had all there players on the park for any game this year but come finals will be a better team than last year
East BrightonBarry Hope/ Ben Murphy have improved over the last 4 years and are setting the standard high and this year have a lot more depth

St Kilda CityMick Stinear they are one of the side's to go backwards with the stars they have lost over the last few years, and the money not there, (as it was before) but have still done a good job to stay in the top half of the comp. Will be looking forward to next year

Cheltenham Grant Pitts Are a much better side than they were last year, and have got better over the last few years.Still a few players short of the top 3(EBFC,CH,St P)
Chelsea HeightsAsh Roberts/ Ben Lockwood we haven't seen the best of them yet, but come finals they will be as good as anyone, and are a much better team than they were a few years ago

Mordialloc Andrew Clarke Are not going well and haven't been doing much for the last few years. So they will be going back to D2

DingleyShane Morwood/Co Have got better over the last few years and need some bigger body's plus a key forward. But are playing some good football and still short of the top 3 (EBFC,CH,St P)
Heatherton Nick Jewell Are getting better and have some big plans down there in the coming years, which is great for the SFL
ClaytonBen McGee are a much better team than the last few years and will be better next year
HighettTrent McMicking are getting better every week and will be looking forward to next year

So when you look at the comp it is better than it ever has been

(Hope we can get something going in here )

Lol!!!!!

Tips for week 14

St. Pauls will be too good for an improving Highett 30 points
Mordialloc will fall short against StKilda City. The Saints by 40 points
East Brighton too strong for Heatherton to go 14 straight, 60 points
Clayton, disppointing last week will hit the Heighters who are gaining more momentum CH by 25 points
Dingley must win this week and may surprise but Cheltenham will be desperate for the double chance. The Rosella's to bounce back, 20 points.
That will put the Saints level on points and a chance to gain some percentage. Be tight for 5th

Hearing some rumours about Andy Clarke at the Mordialloc Ball.... Will be interesting to see of anything comes of it

Who do you think the new boss will be?
My tip is that it will be young Cannizio, the bloke who plays at Clayton... that will be interesting// Tip for finals venues :
Clayton for Divvy 1, Cheltenham for divvy 2 and a smokey in Dingley for div 3......Springvale great surface but too far away and no atmosphere, Mordialloc off field are not stable and what has the coach been up to again...?

I think Clayton's ground is too small for Divvy 1 finals. Would love to see it moved away from Springy though, the only thing good is the surface. Chelts ground is in pretty good nick.

Clarke has been sacked after the events at the Ball and Anstey will coach the remainder of the season

Clayton is a bit small but it is the mail that I have that its now just awaiting council ok along with Chelt for div 2 and Dingley for div 3, could not hold div 1 finals at Chelt if they are competing in them...Clark was a bad choice by the Mordialloc guys in the first place, he went staright to the media recently with complaints around umpires, as if the umps make up the 10 goal average losing amount the Bloods have .. after he barged into the umps rooms afterwards and had a go at them after the game..a very loose cannon.

There were finals at Mordi when they were in it I believe.

But you're right... Finals shouldn't be played at one of the participants grounds.

Keep it at Springvale for Div 1, great surface and the ground is a good size.

Put it on a smaller ground and the football will get ugly.

Yes it may get ugly but I am not sure if you have been to Springy when it is Windy and that is also quite ugly, I reckon we all get ready for Clayton it is very strong mail.If Clayton do make it they could easily swap a venue as realistically they would probably only play 1 final at best. Shame Mordi is such a shambles off field as that facility is well located and the ground condition is good and the size is also excellent. Announcement on Clayton very soon.... Chelt 2nd Div and Dingley 3rd Division..

Loved playing at Dingley as a kid in the MSJFL, great venue.

Not too sure about the surface though, mainly the middle was an issue?

Clayton has a great atmosphere but in my opinion not a great size, always resorts to contested football, bomb it long to forwards etc. Doesn't help the running/skillful teams.

Good point indeed, location is also a priority for the league in terms of getting a good crowd, the crowd at mordi a few years back for the GF has not been surpassed at Springy.. Anyway maybe in the next few days we will find out..

Clayton is just a bit too small for finals but would get a good atmosphere there, Chelt and Dingley would be good for the other Divs. I'm sure we will know by late tomorrow

id rather see it on a larger ground aswell personally and watch a battle of fitness and skill compared to congested packed footy

Heard a whisper that a small forward from my club might have been offered or maybe even across the line for the Senior job at Carrum-Patterson Lakes...

Can't be true.. Surely

Flack?
On the other issue i reckon most Div 1 clubs would prefer to play at Chelt than on the small confines of Clayton.
Mordi cant be considered as its a cow paddock. Mordi's ground could suit Chelsea as its a similar surface to Chelsea.

hah
I know nusssssssing about nussssssing
ahhaha CPLFC will be a decent team in about 3 to 4 years, probably will put the building blocks in place to start with off field, Barnes is a good pick up as Pres. If the small forward is appointed coach then they will win third division in the next 2 years!!! He will bring players and with Barnes' network then they will go very well. Will the young blokes that went to the Heighters come back and play with the CPLFC as they now have a senior team??? Some decent players there too..
