Wouldn't I be more likely to want to kick the ladder seeing as though we have our top FS and none of the horizon? Bad logic old boy.

ol boy! Have been called worse. Handy being righteous when you nab the no 1 player via father son then become an expert on it and on other teams.

we can all begrudge that Richmond team, in the end a team most classed as average won three flags whilst "stacked" teams such as the Saints 2010's team didn't win any.

I'll die on this hill that a recruiting department must nail three good > very good AFL players from one draft to really propel a team too success. Not just prospect to be but actually nail (agreed those three Saints youngsters could be anything but are just that, youngsters)

Going to be a fun ride as the Richmond draft haul really could be boom or bust whilst the rest of us trying to clamber up the ladder are struggling to make inroads with the Swans and Cats of the world continuing on there world domination

Fair enough, and its what the Saints seem to be trying to do. We went into the draft this year with 3 draft picks and came away with 6 likely looking players.
Just a waiting game to see if they made wise choices and we get the 3 very good players.

I’ve always been a fan of FS despite us not benefiting to the extent of many clubs historically. You’ll need a new narrative.

What would you see as progress this year
Squaring the ledger win/losses or pushing on into Sept?
Squaring the ledger wouldn’t be progress, as we won 11 and lost 12 this year (including 6 losses of 10 points or less, 5 of which were to teams who made the finals, with 4 of those games being interstate or in Geelong), while the year before we won 13 and lost 10, so progress next season would have to be returning to finals.

We also would have been top 5 or 6 on the form ladder for the last 13 rounds (our last 12 games), as we won 8 of those 12, and 5 of our last 6.
