This isnt the same Carlton that you've come to expect. Even in those losses the lads never dropped their heads and stuck fat with the structures. North and Sydney are contending so you'd expect those results and we faced a fully fit GC who were in great form at the time.

Good luck for the game, but don't expect this Carlton side to roll over. We've proven we can close out tight games and win with a shortened bench. Last years Carlton wouldn't have won those games.

Agreed. Bolton has you guys playing very well. Just shows what a trainwreck Malthouse was and the years wasted with your 26-30 yo players especially.

Unfortunately we are going to have a very young side out there this week and if sources can be trusted 1 likely 2 debutants. So it won't be a true reflection on where we're at. Anyhow lets see how we go - I think we might surprise some people...

Carlton are good.

Confidence is high.

They are workers now.

Where'd you hear it? Because to be honest, if we've lost 3 players to injury and got spanked by over 80 points, anyone can say they heard we want to make changes because it's probably the most predictable thing all year.
So are you disputing the fact that I speak to people at the footy club? I don't see any other reason for your post. My statement was an obvious one but it's good to quell some speculation by actually talking to people involved at the club.

If you knew something I'd appreciate it if you told the rest of us too. I don't know everything, but the info that I do get I like to share it here. Have a good day mate.

Dont take joop to heart mate. He has a healthy skepticism and can be a bit curmudgeonly at times.

But that is good, I can get that way as well at times.
Anyone can take or leave info posted here. You know what you know and where you get it from. Doesnt matter what the rest of us think.

Have to say, a bit of a gripe coming into this one; Carlton get a longer break after playing in Melbourne on the Saturday, whereas we had a bloody Sunday twilight game in Adelaide. Massive advantage for them this week.

EDIT: Just checked out the fixture; and after the game against GC after our bye, the next SIX TEAMS WE PLAY have at least an extra days rest going into the game against us. WTF!!!

We still have a 7 day break after a very short flight. Quite a few of the team won't have even been in Adelaide.

Chill out, GC is also the last time we travel for the rest of the year, all other games are home games.

As usual it will be won or lost in the midfield.

Hopefully some of our more inconsistent players will rise up to the challenge this week.
A good game from Armitage would be nice as well.

Carlton have some very nice outside players , and to me we need to stop the supply to them.
Cripps and Curnow.

I'm not sure a tag on Cripps would be effective. A tag on Curnow?
Then its up to the likes of Armitage, Steven, Dunstan, or Ross to get the ball before Cripps.

Correct. I am disputing that.

Plus I'm a miserable bastard this week.

Geelong are a one man midfield. Neutralize him and its an open game.

Meanwhile we have no midfield so whatchya gonna do smart guy?
Danger, Duncan, Selwood, Guthrie, Caddy. Enright and Bartel still capable of running through and getting big numbers
We DIDN'T shut him down (31 touches at 80%, 15 contested, 7 marks, 6 tackles, 7 clearances, 8 score involvements), lost our captain early. Down 3 rotations for most of the first half and 2 rotations for the rest of the game after Levi came back on and still managed to win.
I'm under no illusions that the win was an upset/fluke/better on the day type deal, but we dug deep and got the job done under trying circumstances. Don't try to fob it off as Geelong having a crap midfield with only one contributor.
It's a shame you guys might have a few injury concerns, but hopefully it's a good game. I still think it's a 50/50 danger game even if we are going in favourites according to the bookies.

Your whole team did a good job of winning contested ball against the Cats. .
Dangerfield did ok , but Cripps matched him, and Gibbs played a better inside game than Selwood. :O
It flowed down the list with your guys wanting it more. Great team effort.

No they didn't lmao, fox footy etc had us with the hardest draw the rest of the year is soft
The Age had us 4th, Troy Wheatley had us 5th, AFL.com had us 3rd, Herald Sun had us 1st, AFLguru has us 4th so yes they did. Can't find the fox footy or 'etc' ones for season fixture evaluations.
