Ummm.... Because it sounds like the last 5 years. That’s why you have coaches - to guide & improve these things

Right. I think the players mostly aren't superstars but are now at the point where, with competent coaching, we could make the lower reaches of the eight. It doesn't look like that will happen, which suggests to me we don't have competent coaching.

I actually don't blame Richo either. He should be in the last year of his contract and coaching for his life, and if he didn't make it then we let him go and that's all fair. Some coaches are good at developing sides but not good at getting them to win consistently.

Instead, we're stuck with him for the next three years. Terrible decision from Finnis, Bains, and the club.

I have to wonder why Dunstan isn't in the side also... it really felt like it had all started to click for him last 6 weeks or so last year and he had started to show some poise and progression in the middle.

Now he's probably gone backwards two steps not being named and will probably be selected in a forward pocket next week and it'll be back to ****ing square one with him.

Yes.... let the anger flow through you :p

Your words reflect what many on here think Stav

Well said as usual Stav

Honestly those players and coaches need to understand what this means. If you can't give your all for this club if you don't think you can step up to the plate and be the players or coaches we need. Then walk away.

Finals is the aim, free agents is the aim, building through the draft...

Guess what!? All ****ing bullshit

I've tried to find positives and the way I did this was to try and work out who were our best players

Who stood up when everyone else was failing?

Carlisle was good - 11 marks, 2 contested, 12 kicks, 7 1%ers, 2 tackles and a goal
Webster was very good for three quarters but he tired and was shit in the last quarter - reasonably expected considering the amount of work he had to do
Geary - 13 CP, 6 marks, 4 tackles, 25 disposals, 6 1%ers, but defence was poorly organised with frequent overlaps
Ross copped the hard tag from Jacobs and was beaten by him on the day, but didn't give in and fought his was back to relevence
Gresham was quiet for stretches but still contributed despite starved of opportunity
Same Long - he is a very dangerous player with great skills
Bruce worked really hard including 10 CP and battled in the ruck - at least he looked like he tried
agree with that all except gears, he turned it over and passed to players in danger far too many times today. he is lucky he is captain cuz id drop him next week but dont see that happening

I hope I am made to regret this...

But this club, this coach and these players are ******.

This coach couldn't any of our boys to get a root at a brothel let alone at football. He is clueless and his structures constantly get destroyed by opposing coaches. He can't see to extract an ounce of consistency other then the ability to consistently let us down. Time to go. NOW!

These players, spineless pricks the bunch of them. No run no chase no heart. All think they are ******* figjam, yet they can't even hit simple targets. Paddy, I've backed you but **** how does someone drop simple chest marks week In and out. JB another let down. Mentally soft

Any midfielder not named Acres or Steven are ******* pathetic.

******* fuming and I feel mentally done right now. Time to check out. I remember sitting there when the pelican did his power point presentation telling us our future I'll be bright. Well I tell you what our future holds? It's another ******* rebuild. It will be watching the likes of Carlton over taking us whilst we toilet away having missed the boat in 09/10 whilst Richo persists with garbage like today.

This club better have the spotlight on them and turned up to the highest settings. Because I will no longer cop it and defend them. They owe us fans so much for what we have endured. Maybe they should apologize for today.

Top melt imo

Just seen a video of some campaigner blow torching his St Kilda membership on Facebook.

Shit is real my friends
That’s just Gherkin getting the party started.

Stav that’s massive coming from you mate.
We need a shake up. Sooner rather than later. Let’s not follow the tired old football club recipe again and again.

Purely gutless display of football. North supporters were literally laughing at our players and unfortunately I was shaking my head in agreement. We were terrible. Our skills were putrid, decision making poor and strategy non existent.

We had a very bad day. As bad as I can remember. But that’s all it is for now. A bad day, a one off, let’s not right off the year.

I remember Richmond having a a bad day Round 16 last year. Worked wonders for the remainder of their year! Let’s just be glad it wasn’t against a top 4 side otherwise we’d be looking at a 100 point margin. The boys will be gutted from this, and there is no better motivator than redemption.

Chin up saints
No its not a one off, we were crap today - lucky to beat the Lions and shit house in JLT games

I’ve had two parents die in the past two months and I have a sis in law battling an aggressive breast cancer.
That's a really tough personal/emotional thing to go thru there Saintos..........today really hurts but going thru the above really does put things into perspective.

Was at the race when players walked off. Group of drunks were getting stuck into them. Kinda felt bad. Saints players looked pissed off. Horrible game. Horrible game plan. The warning signs were there in the JLT and round one. Was thinking 8-10 at start of year. Probably 16-18 at moment. Hope I'm proven wrong.
They better get used to it unless they improve.

We’ve been getting sliced apart by teams that use a kicking game from defence for years & still can’t defend it against a team that went at sub-70% kicking efficiency who beat us by 50+ points.

That is a structure & coaching problem
