I'm not sure why people are blaming this game on Ratts??? He made the move to put walker in the back and it worked, move yarran forward, it worked. If anything it's the players fault, a coach can't teach agression, can't kick the all for them, can't tweak their skills. It's the mental state of the players, these are the same players last week who were nailing their disposals, Levi kicked pretty well last week and gets 0.5 this week. Give it a rest on Ratten for once there were players out there tonight who didn't turn up to play

The standard of his kicking has been on show for six weeks. This was not an off night for him, it was routine. He can mark but he can't kick goals and in the end that will cost you.

Ellard is not AFL standard. That is why he has struggled to get a game this year. He must be traded (if he has any value) or delisted. I am sick of hearing about what Ellard supposedly brings to the team. He offers less to the team than both Curnow & Bell.

agree he isnt really afl standard skill wise, effort wise he is afl standard. id rather play with guys who give 100% effort as opposed to 100% flash and no effort. Blaming this loss on him is totally unfair though.

Start of week malt house thought his coaching career was probably over.... Tonight he's just got 20% more on his asking price.

Murphy was miles better than Gibbs. Gibbs was hardly involved.

I must have watched a different game then. Murphy had minimal influence on the game. Mclean was better than Murphy. Marc was more interested in running hard forward like Camporeale if he could sniff an easy receive. Didn't put his head over it in the third and force it forward by knocking it out of a pack on the flank.

Gibbs was forced to the backline and out of the midfield due to McInnes going off the ground.

The coaching staff must carry some of the blame & whether Ratts deserve it or not after this loss I don't see how he will survive.

It makes me sick to say it, but, for so long now our swagger has come from marketing dept with catchy membership slogans, but at some stage the team has to deliver & perform with some swagger and after tonights performance I can't wait to see what were are sold as next years membership slogan.......maybe something like - "If it gets a little hot in the kitchen then we are getting the hell out" - just trying to keep with the cooking theme.

Dominate the stats and lose the game. Obviously came into the game with a terrible attitude, cocky, expect to win and got burnt. Outplayed them after 1/4 time but couldnt turn it around.

Even terrible sides like GC and GWS are AFL level, so give them a sniff and they can beat you. Dont deserve to play finals when you lose these games.

Next week play Mitchell, Okeefe, buckley and say to them, this is AFL, you want to play AFL level next year work your asses off over summer. Give scotto/judd ect a rest.

I love casboults marking and what he has done off no preparation but i would spend 90% of the next 4 months on kicking.

People will blame ratten but for mine he has done enough to remain as coach.

Rattan is clearly gone. The worst effort I've ever seen, every player should be ashamed. We lost to the ******* Suns. Hang your heads in shame you weak dogs.

Why should Ratts be gone? The players ****ing lost the match... Ratts cant mark, handball or kick for them... he cant lay tackles.

The pathetic players tonight lost the game for us...

All bar a couple who worked hard all night, the rest of the team went in to game thinking that it would be a walkover.

But saying that, I think that he will coach next week, then fall on his sword for the club.

You can blame Ratten all you want, but the players were the ones that were matching up against a side that was predominately made up of first and second year kids.
Levi Casboult, 0.5 - what a joke of a footballer. I've watched him in the VFL over the past few years and he couldn't kick straight if his life depended on it - he has the kicking action of a 6 year old kid learning the game, worst kick for goal in the AFL.
Anyone who thinks he is our answer to our key position forward problems is absolutely kidding themselves.
If they keep him on our list, his kicking will cost us games in years to come, just like tonight.

When primus was sacked after the GWS loss I thought to myself how bad is it that he loses his job over a single 4 qtrs and a bad player performance

I hope this doesn't happen here. Lots of things need to be looked at but knee jerk sackings shouldn't be considered

Upsets happen and major upsets happen. While over the next 6 months we have to live with this game, the club, the plan and the fans are bigger than this

Exactly right. Ratts will be the scapegoat for a number of individuals who are satisfied with near enough. If only some of our players had a heart the size of Ratts. Some of our players should watch footage of his career & see a bloke who got the best out of himself.
