Today, a good run down on Franklin early on and after that not a lot that I can recall.

Maybe the whole "but he hates Freo" thing goes back to the era he was drafted. When he was a junior back when there was tension between WAFL clubs and WA AFL clubs, and some "who is the real Freo" nonsense as well. Also Freo were famously **** at that point. Anyone coming through at WAFL junior level at that time could have grown up with a bit of a default "LOL Freo" feeling. People from Freo (AFL) would be fairly sensitive to any hint of that attitude from a potential draftee. Times change though.

And despite his fairly shitty and invisible performance today when the switch was made he kept Rioil to half a dozen disposals and 1 goal in the 2nd half during a 165 point loss

He was on Rioli for maybe a third of the game. He also did a better job on him than anyone else.

While I did say "great" I probably used the wrong word. He was arguably our best defender and hence I would label his game as good to great in a relative sense. Overall he offered a lot of things that other players didn't and while he wasn't anywhere near perfect I certainly wouldn't be dropping him from our side anytime soon.

Nope. I love stats men. Watch a replay. Will be one of the few who will NOT get a kick in the arse this week. Why? Because he is a team player.
