20JUL21: Top 4 speculation/SEN
"Wins over West Coast, Western Bulldogs and Greater Western Sydney in the past three weeks has catapulted the Swans to sixth place and just one win outside the coveted double chance."

Catapaulted into 6th place from .... 6th place.
Another clear case of AFL bias ..... there’s no way a Vic club would win 3 straight games and not move up the ladder .... 😡

Not sure I like us being the flavour of the month. The way it stands at the moment, we will go into our remaining home and away games as favourites and I've always thought we played better as the underdogs.
Having said that, the way we are currently playing is so far removed from how I ever remember us playing before that hopefully, our mental attitude has changed also.

Good insight into the Swans defensive set-up...

Got a lot of time for Nick reiwoldt, really knows the game and is very analytical.

This is the type of stuff I love watching, insights that the average observer wouldn't pick up. Just shows how organised and sophisticated our structures are.

yes, i think he's the best of any ex-footballer in recent times to make the move to media ... i rate matthew lloyd too, but riewoldt has a good sense of humour, and geez he had garry lyon ready to sook on the couch last night, lyon can't cop any hint of criticism or a suggestion he got something wrong ...

Basically the love from the media with our play in the last 3 games is back...

Gonna be the hunted from here on out you would think...

Loved that clip...

Something I take away from that, and have always thought about when reading negative comments on the board over the years.

From an observers point of view, a team can sometimes look flat in a game, or look like they're not focusing on a particular area of the game that they should be (contested ball for example). But teams absolutely go into a game with a plan, and sometimes the opposition just don't allow them to execute it as they'd planned (among other potential factors).

The GWS game is a prime example, horse had the guys pumped, he delivered a message about team unity when faced with adversity. He did all the right things, and the team responded as they should have. But when the siren went and GWS applied massive amounts of pressure, all of those plans, and the hype took a big hit.

Credit to the team, they stuck at it and were able to turn it around. But the point I'm making is, we can sometimes watch and think why aren't they doing this, or why aren't they doing that, as if to say the players wouldn't have thought of it themselves, but the players would absolutely have a game plan, and the intent to win, but sometimes everything you try just falls to pieces, regardless of what mindset you came into the game with.

I just feel as though supporters need to be a little more conscious that sometimes it's not lack of heart or intent, sometimes things just don't work for you.

Running the ladder predictor reasonably objectively, not factoring in any stunning upsets, I can't see us finishing higher than 5th, the Lions dropping down to 6th.
If that pans out, we stand a good chance of winning our elim and probably playing Port in the semi. That's a game we can win and head into a prelim.
Be nice if that first one is at the SCG.

My club had a lunch with Matthew Lloyd and he was fantastic . Was asked about his relationship with the King twins after coaching them at school , he said they have both told him that they struggle with Dane Rampe as he will do anything to put them off . We were lucky to get it in the week before the Lockdown hit.

Rommel or Patton said no plan survives contact with the enemy. Mike Tyson put this as "No plan survives a punch in the head"

Won't happen , happy to be at Kardinia Park

I don't really care where we finish or how we go in the finals this year, I'm just enjoying the ride this season.
