SWANS SPREAD

To win the flag, the Swans will have to do it by committee up forward. There will be no superstar coming out of the goalsquare dominating the finals, with Joel Amartey and Logan McDonald searching for form. McDonald was better against Adelaide, kicking three goals. He has four majors in his last four games and Amartey has also kicked four goals in his last four. The Swans had just one more inside-50 in the first half against the Crows and trailed in marks inside 50 3-11, but led by 37 points at the main break. Sydney has thrived in chaos all year and that can work — last year Collingwood won the flag without dominance from a key target (Bobby Hill’s eight goals were the most for the Pies in September). Amartey leads the club goal kicking on 39. Brody Mihocek won Collingwood’s last year with 48. Suddenly, Luke Parker looms as a huge player this finals series given he has kicked eight goals in his last three matches. The spread up front can work - the Swans will end the regular season as comfortably the best scoring team in the competition. We will just have to wait and see if it does.

Kingy & Montagna picked Swans as Flag favs on First Crack, with GWS and Port as runners-up.
Dixon reckons the ball-tossing Dogs, with Port runners up.

Montagna flip flops every week

Dogs clear faves for me, unfortunately. The fact that Dixon has picked them gives me some hope, though, since he is often spectacularly wrong

They wont get past Hawthorn imo and even if they do comp is way to even for them to win it from 6th.

They also wont get a 3:1 Free kick ratio which won them close games.

It would be a greater feat than 2016

I actually think the comp being even makes it easier for them as they aren't that far off the top 4 sides. But yes Hawthorn is just about the biggest hurdle.

This muppet dishing up this rubbish should get a slice outta his pay this week ..
Clearly hasn’t been watching the swans at all and especially not the last month or more where Matt Roberts has probably been one of our most consistent performers ..
Suggesting he’ll make way for one of the 4 returning players is horrendous reporting

They don't watch us play, drop the guy who laid more tackles than about a 3rd of the side combined
Yeah I think he's a bit safer than a lot of people think. Horse has referred to the pressure he brings around the contest quite a few times and obviously values defensive pressure pretty highly. I think he's in front of Campbell on Horse's list.

He probably doesn't know who Matt Roberts is

People complain when pundits get stubborn and stuck in their opinion/bias, and then complain when they adapt to new information and new perspectives and are able to admit when they got something wrong.

Why can't every pundit just pick Sydney to be awesome every year? They do it with Essendon

Nothing on Kane & Bucks this morning. Port was the only interstate team mentioned in depth.
Guess they have to eke it out over two weeks.
