The Queensland hating Vic media and fans are all over this, absolutely going into meltdown over the "corrupt" AFL.

Really??? That’s what repeated entitlement does with their heads.

I wouldn’t have minded May getting a week. I see this week as a total write off.
I’d send 22 hard nuts up there and play “Park the bus” footy and just have some fun frustrating Port.

Oh, yeah!! 3 days of rain and a chance of a wet game. Contrary to our moniker, our best hope is a wet and windy squally scrum game.

Maysie IN and while I'm not a fan of him playing forward for 4 quarters, play him up the ground sporadically and he'll kick you goals like the brilliant one from 55m on the sideline he nailed on the weekend. Holman and Young are mudlarks at their best in the wet. Against Norf, the Suns massacred them in clearances and contested possessions despite being edged in hitouts. 100 tackles and 67 inside 50s against a team that would easily be top 8 if they had beaten us. Only 15 of that crew played Saturday, so bringing in a few hard at the ball types like Brodie and Joyce, plus a couple of savvy vets like Rosa and Barlow.

Schoenfeld is a roughie, if only for the fact that we are spread really thinly for AFL experienced players. Would love to see Dawson and Nutting, but tend to agree that debuting in China would be unfair on the player and his family. Longest odds to play, but I kind of want to see, are Wright, Scrimshaw and Lemmens. Picking 26 blokes out of 31 fit players plus a few unblooded rookies isn't ideal, but something's gotta give.

My fantasy is a low scoring grudge match with the Suns holding a slender lead deep into the final quarter and suddenly Motlop gets the ball 60m out and runs 25m without bouncing to kick a last minute goal, EXCEPT this time the umpires correctly call him for running too far and 425 Port fans collectively and simultaneously die of apoplexy.

In: Joyce, Brodie, Dawson
Out:Leslie, Ballard, Holman
Out of interest with these changes (+1 more in for Day) I'd be really interested to see how we'd line up, especially in the forward line.
Ballard has been forward, Holman mid/fwd, leslie a back and Day a fwd.
Joyce is a back, Brodie a pure mid, and dawson, been played mainly mid in the twos(plus a bit of time in the back line) - would mean that some that played on the weekend would have to move more forward.

All the more reason to.....Park The Bus!!!
Get 22 bastards bring in Sam Allardyce as consultant coach for 1 week and have some fun with the game plan.

The Suns didn't get it into the forward line enough on Saturday for it to be much of a guide. Crossley has played plenty of NEAFL in the forwards late last year and a bit before Nicholls got inured this year. Brodie has drifted forward to kick a few and Barlow is good value too. Swallow, Lyons and Martin love rotating forward and Young is an effective 3rd tall. I really want to see Wright, but I think they'll stick with Ballard. Hall, Ainsworth and Ah Chee would be in our best forward 6, but they are needed elsewhere for now.

While you're at it, Ivan Cleary could give a motivational speech about getting on the bloody bus. His coaching and player management is magnificent - play to your strengths + no room for over-rated show ponies = top 8 and a deep list headed for Finals. Woods, Tedesco and Moses are the equivalent of Dixon, Prestia and O'Meara, but nobody misses them or their bloody big heads. #whoarewhoarewhoarewe #weststigerswellkickyourarse

Don’t do FB-not my thing.
Where can I read these sort of melts you are alluding to here on BF??
I'm not sure about the ones on BF. I'm sure Geelong would be having one.
I'm in a few afl groups on facebook with fans of various clubs which has been amusing. As the sole Sun's fan I gotta celebrate any win .

On [device_name] using BigFooty.com mobile app

"Peter Wright finished goalless, as did Gold Coast, but the tall forward picked up 20 disposals on a difficult day as the Suns lost to Brisbane by 92 points at Burpengary on Saturday.

Rookie Jacob Dawson collected 31 disposals to lead his side in that stat while former first-round draftees Jack Scrimshaw (25) and Will Brodie(21) won their fair share of the football."

For those who think 2MP belongs in the NEAFL because his motor isn't up to snuff, he's had a ripper in the 2clash with half a team who weren't even allowed to have a beer afterwards. Pick him, Stu, just pick him. Scrimshaw best on ground playing in the midfield and Brodie averaging 25 touches and bulk clearances. Dawson is the Darcy of 2018, just needs to wait to get his opportunity, and Schoenfeld will get a call up eventually if our injuries continue to mount.

Surely they need to take 2MP and just stand him in the forward line
Given Ports general height you would think Wright and Spencer will be in the 25 going. (Spencer can play forward if need be - forget Leslie or May in that role).
Agree - its unlikely that they will debut a player in these circumstances - which eliminates Heron, Nutting and Dawson.
Big unknowns are Swallows injury and whether any of the injured are considered fit enough to play having missed at least a game.
I think Swallow goes , Rosa goes and one of Joyce ,Barlow or Brodie.
So same team, less Day and Nutting, add Wright, Spencer, Rosa and one of Joyce Barlow or Brodie =25 ?

Given 2MP has played a game and a half in the NEAFL after coming back from a ~10 week calf injury, there is zero chance I would put him on a cramped plane up to China and then a cramped plane back. Just let him play NEAFL here next week to build up his fitness and get him primed for the back half of the season.

With any luck the weather will be terrible anyway and it won't be a game for talls.

Petes on the plane , so i dare say Dew has changed his mind.
