If they have to persist with Finch at least put him down the order, you can't afford out of form batters at the top of the order in T20. But he should retire, I don't see him improving from here.

Australia make the final and Finch has to open again one of Boult, Curran or Arshdeep - all bowling left arm swing

He’s not going to make 5

Australia’s best hope is he gets out in the first over to avoid soaking balls up
I don't think you will have to worry about us making the final.

Stats - Contrasting records for Stoinis and Finch

348205.1.png

73.8 Aaron Finch's strike rate during his unbeaten 31 off 42 balls. It is the slowest innings by any batter in the men's T20 World Cup for a minimum of 30 runs. The previous slowest was by Paul Stirling, whose 30* against Netherlands in 2021 had a strike-rate of 76.92.

I didn't watch the game, early start this morning, but I feel I missed possibly the best Aussie innings and worst Aussie innings in T20 history.

Extraordinary innings from Stoinis. Good to see him hit form again.
Maxxy's innings was overshadowed by Stoin's, but he played a vital role in changing the gears of the chase.
Agar was excellent, would love to see him in the 11.

Finch... Not much to say. It's getting tragic now. However, he'll be playing till the end of the tournament, like it or not.
Cummins, just not his format. Would like Agar to stay in and have Zamps replace Patty.

England game now becomes massive.

Man that was rough from Finch, genuinely hard watching him bat now, him finishing not out kinda papers over the cracks, he just shouldn’t be in this side.

Serious questions need to be asked about the coach and selectors if we fail to make the semis with Finch still struggling, he’s always seem like a ripper bloke, think he genuinely hoped he could get through and retire on a high at home.
