Caro again running with Burgess to Adelaide on 5AA

Seems like that one's getting a lot of steam
That's not what she said. She said Melbourne believe Burgess is talking to us but he has a contract, signed for 3 years.

Rowey said Tredrea told him Burgess wants to come back to be with his kids, so if Melbourne release him on compassionate grounds he's coming to us.

There would be no need for ass then.

What did she say about if Melbourne try and reduce his salary something about the contract then void?

For once I agree with you, he's been out of contract twice in more recent times and has cried about wanting home and then within a week or two re-commits to the Bombers....I don't want this type of character at Adelaide....he's a wimp.
Maybe it's just really hard to escape Essendon? Look at the lengths Saad and managers are going to with PSD threats and the trade period hasn't even started yet. Everyone knows Essendon are difficult to deal with at the trade table.

From memory aren’t they the only club that has been forced into mediation by the AFL with the Ryder deal. Ridiculously difficult - which is why I hope Fantasia doesn’t publicly commit to us as I don’t see us getting a deal done

Nah, he's had ample opportunities to carry through with his well publicized wishes to return home around contract talk times and has always re-signed within weeks if not days. Now he makes the call when he's under contract, you'd have to seriously question his decision making if nothing else.

Yeah.. the more I think about it the less I want the bloke even if we got him super cheap.. ie on $300k a year and a pick after 70..

Was that your view on Gibbs too?
