On form he'd be hard to squeeze in as a mid, given how well most of his competition is going. Unless he reverts to the 3rd tall defender role, but then how do you fit the perpetually concussed man in? I've got Smith in my team ahead of Otto after yesterday.

Its clear Reilly is really going to struggle to hold his position in the team this year and could very quickly be over taken, I think Van Berlo would have been in the same boat had he not of got the captiancy.

I didn't notice Reilly much yesterday, but then it dawned on me that in the second half he was standing on Pavlich and I barely noticed Pavlich either, so presumably Radar was doing his job

Whats the story with Douglas? He would want to get some game time in if he is going to be a walk up start for round 1.

Looking at the proposed teams what it does highlight is our depth even with the fab 4 going. In years gone by you could could rule a line through half a dozen players, now you struggle with one or two. Bring back Jacky.

I'd be using VB as a taxi service to blow up opposition defenders

dragging them out of our attacking area and forward of the ball...
to create space for the forwards to work in...

Well he was drafted before Nick Dal Santo and Nick Dal Santo would leave Reilly for dead, so that throws that theory out the window.

Rucks are the hardest selection - Smack has not shown enough for me so not in round 1 team. I have Jacobs out due to a lack of game time, but then I have Moran in (go figure). I rate Moran above Maric, and Sellar gets in for versatility especially down back. Too hard to tell.
