Lol...Caro's just dumped another load of....I mean written another constructive piece journalism on our situation.
Golly she loves us!
(Makes me proud)

You mean this article Robroy?

I have to say there's not much in it I disagree with. I know there are other stories Caro could chase, and other clubs she could focus on, but you cant blame a footy journalist in this town for going after the Pies, when the story is there.

Been reading it from her for years VP....nothing new...she's always had an axe to grind and she just keeps grinding it. Take her "facts" as gospel if you will. What she "knows" compared to what she's been told....would fill a thimble.

If you get a chance have a listen to Mark McClure's summation of the Pies on ABC around 12.30 today!
He's as good as Caro, but I'm guessing when Mark says "I'm not really sure...we'll never know"....it's a line that Caro could bottle.

I'd say that Weitering, SPS, Curnow & Marchbank will all either be just as good or better than De Goey. & KPP's are worth more as they're in shorter supply.

Carlton's spine is close to sorted, whilst ours has holes and ageing players all over it, with the departure of Dunn, Reid & Goldsack in the not-too-distant future.

We desperately need McLarty & Schade to become guns, then recruit a starting 22 key forward THIS off-season, and draft another one at the end of this year. Otherwise Darcy will be relief rucking to Treloar, who kicks it to Darcy in the F50, with Darcy providing the chop-out, whilst Darcy runs back to cover the opposition CHF from a rebound attack...
I like your optimism but Schade won't be anything, jury still out on mclarty

As much as I luvved Bucks as a player, I have to agree with you on this one TD.

At the time of this post, Blair had kicked 4 goals in 2017. Now if I'm correct here, we essentially have no chance on making finals right? If so, why isn't he blooding youth?

I'm not only talking about getting games into Daicos and Brown... what about Kirby? He is currently the leading VFL goal kicker with 30 goals!! You can't tell me they're not ready either, as there's big bodies in VFL, just like AFL... Perhaps it's his attitude? But the point is we don't know unless we at least give some of these guys a taste right?

I think it's fair to say that some people might be misconstrued with Buckley's intentions after this Blair selection... as in is he putting himself in front of the best interests of the club?

Like to hear anyone's constructive thoughts?
Buckley is coaching for his career. He is definitely putting himself ahead of the team. It's survival of the fittest

Of course. Let's be honest wells hasn't given us much because he is injured a lot of the time and Mayne? Who knows. Hopefully he comes good next year because as of now he is a dead set pimple.
When we recruited Wells he was 32 years of age. Don't get me wrong he is pure class when he plays and has the ball in his hands however, he had played only 30 of the last 67 games. Blind Freddy knows that chronic long-term calf problems are unlikely to improve as one ages.

When we have a quarter of our playing list (i.e. Fasolo, Elliott, Goldsack, Langdon, Scharenberg, Varcoe, Reid, Sinclair, Broomhead and Ramsay) constantly missing games why recruit (another chronically injured player) and pay $500k per season for 3 years for a player who was always likely to miss half the year through injury?.

Fremantle informed Mayne that they could not guarantee him a game this year and that his future laid elsewhere. This from a club that finished 3rd last. The Kangaroos had offered him $350k per season (and this included triggers and incentives). No other club was interested. Yet we offered him $550k per year (with no triggers) for 4 years (this for a person who averaged 6 kicks per game over his career).

So out of 34 games this year, they have played a combined 11 games, with an average of 9 kicks per game and .50 goals. Would we have not been better of having made an offer of $1m to a prospective star based on potential than to two players at the end of their career. If Mayne is unlikely to get a game are we better off cutting our losses and delisting him?

So it's definitely 550k a season? Jee whizz. Should we give him another season to season to see how he goes?

Just like she has for the last decade or so Dave. Now there's a succession plan I'd be in favour of....Caro's taking up a young journo's spot....maybe she could retire?

You can argue it all you like but he is a game winner. Have him in the team he is pure class. If he only plays half a season, i've got no problem. Worth every cent.

Game winner? Do you mean a game drawer? 50 points up. How the hell we not win that game by at least 30. Same as always as soon as teams put pressure on us we turn to water. Been happening since 2013. And crows would be in a high training load yet we run out of puff at half time. Ground hog day. If you're a Pies man Nathan hand back the keys and walk away tomorrow. The most insipid performance and choke I've ever seen from the black n white

Crows restructured at half time and just made us look like Swiss cheese with the ease of transition and outnumbering. Not smart enough to combat it, need a lucky bounce or individual brilliance

You saw it on Camporeales face at 3 qtr time interview he was smiling away full of confidence that they had our measure and would come back. Was not an ounce of worry/seriousness in his face at all.

Schade is 23 almost 24 so what you see is what you get with him im afraid. Solid depth option incase of injury but shouldnt be first choice.

Crows were disgusting for a change and we made the most of it, they switch on 50% and we are almost hopeless. Not sure why the big surprise, Buckley has been a below average coach from day one. Nothing changed today.

I want him re-signed.

Pies are playing with heart. Young side who will mature massively by next year. No one out there is a glaring replacement... players want to play for Bucks as has been seen over the last few weeks.

Give it a spell. There are plenty of assistant coaches out there in AFL industry that are better suited to coaching Collingwood.

No one ever accused the players of not playing for Tony Shaw. He's time had come to an end and it was clear a change of direction was needed. Even if Malthouse wasn't able to be gotten, the next best option would have got the job over Shaw.

i don't care if it's an assistant from hawthorn, Geelong, adelaide, Gws, Sydney or even a state league. We've had 4 years of choking and finding ridiculous ways to lose matches. We need someone fresh who knows wtf they are doing

Agreed. He's just tactically woeful
