And sycophants are going to ride any pole they can.

All perspectives are equally amusing, don't you think?

If you think a wait and see how the kids go approach is amusing sure.

If we totally stuff this rebuild up then I will have negative thing's to say. But I'll hold my fire until we actually know its been a failure.

The way some are reacting recently you would think that the rebuild 10 Years from now is known.

I’d be disappointed with Hotton at our first pick

Don’t get why we wouldn’t be offering pick twelve and Hawks future first or our future second to move up a few spots to secure a sliding top end mid, Travaglia or Lindsay.

Supposedly Woosha flew over to present the jumper, and supposedly Hotton won't be at night 1 of the draft.
So, hopefully it won't be Hotton at our first.

All the WAFL clubs put massive restrictions on the Eagles so that if everything was going right and players 24-44 were excellent players then we wouldn't dominate the competition.

Given our players in the WAFL have been small in numbers (due to injuries, etc) over the last few years we get pumped weekly and the developing players aren't learning anything and we don't have WAFL Reserves to keep the team at a competitive level.

And reduced list sizes since covid

I'd be open to our F2 (21 - based on finishing 3rd last again) and F3 (39) for pick 16 from GWS to get Hotton.

Not sure if they would be interested but gives them 300 points more into next year where they are a bit short at the moment.

Prediction of pick swaps to happen on the night.

Eagles pick 12+F3 for Freo's 14 + 30

Freo then draft Reid at 12
Port take Shanahan at 13
Bulldogs trade 17 + 25 for our 14 + Hawks F3 wanting to grab Berry, who they have been linked to.

We take Hotton at 17 and hold 25, 26 & 35

Apparently he might be getting a late invite. Only doing that if a club requests it to the AFL you would think.

Suggestions of 12 + Future pick to move surely would’ve been offered and will be again you would’ve thought.

16 + F3 for 26 + Our F2 and get Hotton (if one of XL, TT, BA don’t fall) and Murphy Reid would be an ok result.

Still 2 F1 picks for next year

Twomey seems pretty confident now that it's going to be Hotton

If it's Hotton there better be a ****ing pick swap attached to it and us trading down at a minimum or I'll be devo.

Walking away from this shit show of a season with only Hotton sitting in the rehab group to show for it whilst all the other spud clubs get shiny new toys is going to be pretty Eeyore.

Is anybody here actually doing that though? Seems more like people are just sick of the constant whining (I know I am).

When you say people to whom are you referring because it seems this board is very much split on this off season and it’s success.

I think some are staunchly defending decisions the club have made and the merits as the see them with those who disagree.

Nothing wrong with that but when they continue to disagree or have an overly critical perspective they are labeled as bed wetters.

I suppose it depends on how you see it but if some feel the need to aggressively target those who have a differing point of view with labels then if I was to try and counter that point of view with my own label it would be that of a sycophant and that’s a polite way of putting it

If I was trying to trigger a retaliatory response instead as they do then I would probably compare their behaviour to be similar to that of a pet dog.

Ignorantly happy, always looking for validation and easily trained to guard something without question.

Either all opinions are valid and should be so without ridicule or none should be.
